    Krystalbreeze swiftly freed her daughter and nudged her to her side, sniffing the wound on her shoulder, worry setting into her gaze. She was running out of herbs to place on the wound and it was starting to become a bit infected. The heat coming off it gave her that information. She listened to the meeting quietly, making sure she nudged her daughter to clear spot and crouch, hissing in pain as her own wound twinged painfully due to the movement. The cobwebs on her shoulder were already soaked with the crimson blood and she knew she would need to go out and find more. "Stay right here, if anything happens go back to the den." the mother murmured as she slipped away to try and find herbs and cobwebs.


    Aurora was scared, her shoulder hurt, and the look in her mothers eyes worried her. She knew her shoulder wasn't doing well, the smell and heat it gave off made that clear to her. The 5 moon old kit settled herself to wait, her soft tail wrapping around her paws, turquoise eyes watching the warriors interact and she was careful to make sure she had an escape route should one notice her under the bramble bushes. She knew and agreed with her mother that should anything happen she would run to the den and hide.

    Brightstar smiled at the apprentice. "I, Brightstar, leader of Moonclan call upon my warrior ansestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand your noble code, and I commend her a warrior in turn." She started, the leader seemed slightly out of breath after just that short amount of talking but continued anyway "Brookpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend the clan, even at the cost of your life?" The leader asked, almost seeming greatful for the chance to get a pause from talking.


    Mudstep turned to Coaltail and nodded before looking at Brightstar "Does she look a little out of breath to you Coaltail..?" She whispered to the other medicine cat, so no one else would hear


    Cinderstep noticed Asterfrost and tt she walked away. His ears flattene but he didn't say anything, just listened to the gthering

    Brookpaw smiled widely and nodded her head "Yes I do!" Excitement clearly In her tone. Brookpaw was so excited her paws even began to shake as she stood there waiting for her new name to be announced.

    "Then by the powers of starclan, I give ou your warrior name. Brookpaw, from this moment on you willbe known as Brookflare. Starclan honors you integrity and welcomes you as a full member of Moonclan" Brightstar said, concluding her ceremony. She closed her eyes and pressed her nose to Brookflare's forehead "Congradulations" She whispered to the warrior before pulling her head away. "Squrrelkit, Applekit, Sootkit and Rosekit. Please step forward." She said, looking towards her kits. She would have smiled for them, but something about her felt off, almost sick-like. She manaed to give her kit's a smile through her pain


    Squirrelkit walked over, trying to stay calm. She was extremely excited though, and knew it wasnt well hidden.

    The young kit watched from the bramble bush, her eyes scanning the leader. Something wasn't right...it was weird but she ignored it. She was in all honesty, curious as to what was happening and she settled herself down to wait, her eyes watching from her hidden spot in the shadows, at least she was hidden from view.

    Brookflare touched noses with Brightstar happily and dipped her head respectfully to her leader. The slender brown she-cat his began to notice that Brightstar seemed to be struggling, she automatically became worried for her as she backed away waiting for her kits to be apprenticed.

    Rosekit followed her sister and stepped forward. She almost suddenly burst with excitement like her sister but she was able to control it more than Squirrelkit. Rosekit began to wonder which cat would be her mentor. She hoped it was a nice cat and not a cat like Pineshade. That cat always made her feel scared.

    Waspheart couldn't help but to feel the excitement for the kits and newly made warrior. She wrapped her tail around her paws to keep it from swishing around to much, the golden tabby watched as the kits stepped forward to receive their apprentices names. Waspheart wondered which cats Brightstar would choose to mentor these young kits.

    Brightstar looked at her kits before beginning "Squirrelkit, you have reached the age of 6 moons, and it is time you be apprenticed. From this day forward until you receive your warrior name you will be known as Squirrelpaw. Your mentor will be Linnetstripe. I hope Linnetstripe will pass down all he knows to you." The leader started, watching the pride shine in her daughter's eyes when she got her apprentice name. The leader then become sad, realizing there was a small chance she would not be there to watch her kit's get their warrior names. Then she remembered who their father was, and felt a ping of hope that they would be okay. "Linnetstripe, as my deputy I think you are ready to take on another apprentice. You had received excellent training from Wrenfeather and you have shown yourself be Honorable and Brave. You will mentor Squirrelpaw, and I expect you to pass all you know to her" She continued. She turned to Rosekit. The leaders eyes closed slowly and she felt from the rock she was standing on and hit the ground with a thud. Her breathing was labored.


    Mudstep seemed to jump straight up and run over to Brightstar, pushing through the clan. She put her ear to the leaders chest "Bearfall! Help me get Brightstar into the Medicine cat's den. Shroudpaw! Keep Coaltail away from the den, he shouldn't be in there while I'm working on Brightstar!" She female called as she began to try to put the leader so she would lean on her shoulder.


    Squirrelpaw stood in shock as she watched what happened. One minute, Brightstar was up on the rock giving her a mentor, then next thing she knows, her mother is on the ground before her with Mudstep by her side. She looked up to try and find her father in all of this. She turned to her siblings before walking back over to them, lost for words at this point.

    The young kit flinched and pressed herself into the brambles as the leader fell, causing worry to become clear in her gaze and the kit wanted to rush out but she couldn't. She wouldn't risk her safety with her mother not beside her. The young hissed in pain as her shoulder twinged once more.


    Krystalbreeze hurried back to her kit. Worry in her eyes as she studied the area before slipping beside, gasping softly as she noted Brightstar on the ground and getting moved "When did that happen? " the former clan she-cat was worried, she knew brightstar when she was a warrior and had become friends with her, and now she was scared for the leader. Her eyes widened in horror. She turned and gently placed cobwebs onto her daughters shoulder, worry in her eyes as she studied the blood quickly seeping into the cobwebs. She refused to look back at the camp, her eyes glistening with worry, fear, and a bit of grief...

    Winterkit was watching as Squirrelkit was receiving her apprentice name and mentor along with her siblings. He blinked, his tail lashing as he continued watching the ceremony until his ears perked up when he saw Brightstar pass out almost suddenly. He blinked, obviously a bit startled at this but then he frowned. What just happened? Eveything happened so fast that he didn't even have time to process. He looked over at Crystalpool and Mistypool who also seemed surprised and quite alarmed about Brightstar suddenly fainting. His ears perked when he heard faint laughing and confirmed it to be Badpaw. He huffed. He should have known the apprentice would barely care about what was happening.



    At first Linnetstripe was shocked that he would be gaining an apprentice. He glanced up at his leader with a small smile which quickly turned into fear. He watched as his leader collapsed to the ground. He heard the gasps and saw the fear and shock in their eyes. Linnetstripe leaped into action. "Everyone please stay calm." He meowed. "She must have just overheated." He tried to explain.

    Krystalbreeze finished her daughters wound dressing and stared at the cats rushing to help her old friend. Her worry clear before she gently turned, making sure not to give away their hiding spot before she gently nudged her kit away from the hole they had looked out of. She gestured for her to wait and stuck her calico head out to watch the going ons of the camp.


    Aurora nodded once to show she understood her mother and relaxed. Her eyes softening as she relaxed and remained quiet as Krystalbreeze watched the action in the camp, her eyes clearly concerned for her mother.

    Mudstep watched Linnetstripe before leading Brightstar to the den along side Bearfall. "Bearfall.. I need you to keep a secret from Coaltail, okay?" She whispered to the tom medicine cat as they walked away from the gathered cats. Before even waiting for a response the medicine cat continued. "I was a kit when Brightstar was named deputy, you see, the day before she had lost her brother to a mysterious Illness, one that the medicine cat before Coaltail and I, Mallowmarsh, didn't know how to treat. It had never been seen in the clans and it's origin is unknown. I was told that Mallowmarsh had helped Moonstar through the similar battle much of the clan watched Stonehedge battle and loose. I fear the same illness has infected Brightstar as well. I'm going to call it 'twisted lung', because the first signs from it are trouble breathing before the breathing just stops all together." She continued to him in a whispered tone. "I fear Brightstar may be on her last few moons with us now if this is truly that" The medicine cat looked at Brightstar, feeling sorry for the leader. "For now, all we can do it hope she wakes from it for now. But if she does, she will have to start taking things easy until it is truly her time."

    Bearfall listened intently to what Mudstep was saying nodding, his eyes still troubled. Annuntrestabel disease.. he thought himself his heart was racing but he was going to try his best to heal his leader and not allow her to die ," I promise.." he murmured nodding slowly," that's going to be a hard thing to keep Coaltail away, he's as stubborn as a badger." He snorted softly as he spoke of his mentor," of anything we hav to try out best to find a cure, we can't let Brightstar just go." He mewed promptly.
