Kai gave the dragon one last look, one that was sorrowful, but also angry. He just hoped the dragon got his shit together and called Akeme sometime this week. Of course, he expected this might take a few days, but hopefully it would solve itself
~~~~~ Next Saturday ~~~~~
Damian dropped his bag of boxing equipment on the floor of his apartment, setting it with a hefty THUD. It had officially been a week since he had seen or heard Akeme's voice, seen her face, but she was constantly on his mind. Damian couldn't just stay hammered all the time, but he kept a steady buzz every moment, carrying a flask with him everywhere he went so he could top off if he got a headache. The apartment felt empty without Akeme, and Damian couldn't stay here all day and night, so he made sure to be out as much as possible. In this case, he was at the gym all day today and yesterday, pushing his body beyond its normal limits.
He crumpled to the floor, completely drenched in sweat, feeling his muscles were exhausted. With a sigh, he pulled his phone out and clicked on his messages - one from Wednesday, to Akeme "Sorry, reaaaaally busy right now. Call you when I can <3" She had tried calling him, but he let it ring and ring and ring until it drowned his ears. He couldn't hear her voice right now, no matter how much he wanted to, but he knew he would feel intensely afraid if he did.
He covered his eyes with his hands and groaned, wanting this tortured feeling to end so he could simply let her go, but he couldn't. He would be feeling this heartbreak for forever, and the only way to make it better was to call Akeme, or even see her. But he couldn't. He had to let her go and find someone else better than him, because he knew she would do it sooner or later. The more of the world she would see with him, the more she would see just how awful he truly was
