The Everlasting Rain
| The Founding |
Berrywhisker flicked her tail tip as you entered the Elder's den. "Here for a story?" She asked, tilting her head ever so slightly. You nod, sitting down, neatly curling your tail around your paws. "Now. Let me tell you the Story of the Everlasting Rain, a story everyone must know by now..."
Many, many moons ago, in the neighboring twolegplace lived a tom called Oliver. He was a very adventurous cat and often left his home to roam the forest. One day, his beloved twolegs left him behind, never returning. Nowhere else to go, Oliver went to the forest where prey was bountiful. He came across a small group of cats struggling to survive in the forest. He asked to join them, pledging he could help them. They let him in after a while, hoping this new cat could somehow help them. Oliver showed the cats his favorite places to hunt, how to fish in the river, and many other useful things. The group of forest cats were surprised at his knowledge of the forest. How did he learn so much in his short time in the forest? Oliver had had help. Help from the 'stars'. On Oliver's first night in the forest, he slept just in front of a beautiful, miniature waterfall someplace deep in the forest. He remembered that he had a strange dream. A group of strange cats with stars in their fur had appeared. They had gently taught him to hunt, to fight, to fish, to help, to care. They had shown him the secrets of the forest. Not even Oliver knew why. When he told his friends this, most of them didn't believe it. Only two did: his best friend, Ice, and his mate, Bird. To show everyone it was true, Oliver brought them to the waterfall. He told them if they wanted to see the Stars, they had to sleep in front of the falls while their tailtip was touching the surface of the water. They did as he said and when they awoke, many of the cats claimed they had seen them, including Bird. The cats that didn't grew angry. How come they got to see the Stars but they couldn't? One of them, Cedar, faced Oliver angrily. "I'm taking the cats that couldn't see these 'Stars' and leaving. We aren't going to stay in a camp that plays make believe!!!" Agreeing, the others followed him to a different part of the forest. Shortly after this happened, Bird and Oliver had their kits, Night, Twig, and Minnow. The strongest of the three, Night, grew up to succeed his father, Oliver, and become the leader of the group. During his leadership, Night's group and Cedars' often clashed. One night, Night declared war on Cedars' group, vowing he'd destroy them once and for all. The night before the first battle, Oliver had another dream. He was warned to spare Cedars' group, or something terrible would happen to them. Oliver tried to stop Night, but his son wouldn't back down. During the fight, many cats were killed. Blood painted the forest floor red. On the third night, as Cedar killed Oliver brutally, the Stars appeared. "We told you to step down. Now, all of you will suffer. With rain you'll be cursed until this is reversed!!!" They hissed. Bird noticed that among them was her deceased mate, Oliver. Therefor, she concluded that the Stars were deceased cats. Afterwards, a heavy rain began to pour down upon the forest. The two groups joined together, becoming Rainclan, named after the continuous rain. Night died of his wounds several days after the battle, and a she-cat called Spring took his place as leader. Even today, the rain still pours. When will this curse end?
| The Territory |
Rainclan is located within a forest filled with various trees such as birches, oaks, alders, and many others. Southeast of the camp is the training area, a sandy forest clearing surrounded by tall oaks where apprentices are trained. To the far Northeast of the camp are the Star Falls where medicine cats and leaders communicate with their fallen ancestors, the Stars. Since it always rains, the forest floor consists of wet, churned mud and soggy leaves. Various birds and rodents usually stay within their homes, only going out to retrieve food. Rainclan has adapted to digging deeper into burrows to find warm-blooded prey. Frogs, toads, and lizards are plentiful, and make up most of the clans' diet. Enemies consist of badgers, foxes, snakes, stray dogs from a nearby twolegplace, and very rarely, the timber wolf.
The camp is a hollow deep within the forest that is surrounded by bramble thickets...
On the side of the Great Rock is the leader's den. The Great Rock is at the back of the clearing. Atop the rock is where the leader calls clan meetings and ceremonies.
Within a hollow oak is the medicine den. Herbs are stored in slots in the thick bark, and theres enough space for three sick cats, the medicine apprentice, and the medicine cat.
The warriors den is inside a hollowed out, fallen tree at the edge of the camp, near the entrance. There's a lot of space for a lot of warriors.
A wide hole surrounded by ferns, moss, and stones opens into the apprentices' den.
A boulder on the western side of the camp hosts the Nursery, where kits and queens sleep.
The elders den is a small den between the roots of a tree.

History: Blossomstar was born into the clan to a she-cat called Dovewhisker, who died soon after kitting. She grew up without a mother, and nobody knew who and where her father was. Blossomstar rose through the clan quite quickly, hoping to claim leadership of the clan one day. And to her surprise, her wish came true sooner than expected. Her mentor, Fallenstar had been killed by a snake, and the clan was left to her. Blossomstar had always thought she'd be happy when she became leader, but she found herself lost in grief. Blossomstar has led the clan for many moons now.
Spider [father, deceased]

Ziggy - Lakepaw - Lakewind
History: Lakepaw was born a kittypet called Ziggy. He lived his kithood with twolegs, and they'd often let him go to explore the forest. One day, Lakepaw was left behind. They had moved away. Since Lakepaw was familiar with the forest, he went there. The day after he was left behind, he ran into a Rainclan patrol. They took him back to camp, and Blossomstar allowed him to stay with them. He's now training as a warrior apprentice.
