  • Irene really couldn’t come up with any more excuses for her lack of activity. The honest truth was that she had really been struggling, mentally and emotionally, ever since she’d left Blizzardclan all those months ago. Rhaelarys’ death, Piper’s disappearance, her clanmates turning on her for defending the ‘enemy’; it had all been far too much for the weak-hearted healer to cope with. Not only that, but directly after the events that had transpired in Blizzardclan, the world shift to Agrelos had occurred and only served to shatter the catsune’s world even further. She’d been displaced in the move, taken from the comfort of her home on the floating isles and thrust into a new and terrifying world, forced to find her way back entirely alone.

And when she’d finally done it, when she’d finally found her way back to her friends and family, everything was different. Much more time had passed than she’d thought, and her friends were long gone, replaced with strangers she didn’t care to know. Her children had been abandoned, and although leaving them had been out of her control, they still resented her for it. At that point Irene had simply given up, allowing the weakness and cowardice that had always been inside of her to finally win out.

She’d allowed herself to fall back into the safety and comfort of solitude, returning to her birthplace in Solaris only to withdraw and ignore everyone around her. It was despicable, and disgusting, and every day her hatred for herself only grew stronger. She watched idly as the only friends she had left in the world slowly drifted away, and did nothing to stop the distance from growing. It seemed for a long time that the former medic might actually let go this time; that she might actually disappear into nothingness and never return.

And yet it seemed that life was not quite done with Irene yet, and after weeks of wallowing in self-pity, she found a reason not to be done with life either. Irene had been emptying out her old medical satchel the one given to her by her brother all those years ago and one that she had kept on her being at all times. It felt like a good place to start in her mission to abandon everything and fade away into nothing; rid herself of all memories of her family, so she had nothing holding her back anymore. As she tipped over the brown leather bag and spilled out its contents, the Resurgam matriarch couldn’t help but pause and let her eyes wander over the miscellaneous items.

Various herbs and medicines she’d gathered over the years; they really meant nothing to her, other than a painful reminder of the time she spent dedicated to being a healer. An ornate silver dagger, gifted to her so long ago by her beautiful niece Thea when she visited her in the Kingdom. A small, delicate silver necklace depicting a cat sitting upon a crescent moon, given to her as a Valentine’s day present by one of her closest and most cherished friends, Chesspieces. An old, worn book on making poisons, left to her by her beloved father, Sugaredsun, immediately after he’d been murder by the Sanguine Ruins queen, Barbara. All had been deeply treasured by her for so long, and yet now they all only brought her pain with the memories of her long lost loved ones.

Just as she was gathering up all her belongings and preparing to throw them out, a vague glint of metal caught the corner of her eye. It was stranger, because Irene was almost positive she had already cleared out everything she’d kept in her satchel… Pushing aside her father’s poison book, Irene nearly choked at what she saw. Lying there, hidden amongst her things for who knows how long, was a delicate black leather choker adorned by a small, ornately carved golden sun. The symbol of her home, and of her family. Tears instantly welled in her deep amber eyes and she picked gently the necklace up, holding it almost reverently in shaking paws. She’d never seen the item before, but it had to have gotten inside her back somehow. Had someone given it to her? Her father, one of her many siblings, or perhaps a friend? Or was it an accessory she obtained when she was a crowned princess under Suga’s reign?

Irene truly couldn’t remember. She didn’t recall ever laying eyes on the beautiful piece of jewelry before, and definitely hadn’t ever worn it. But somehow the sight of it brought up a tumultuous wave of emotions and memories that flooded her mind and crashed through her very soul. Trembling, the winged catsune slowly lifted the choker to her throat, eventually clasping it tightly after several long moments of hesitation. The tears pooled in her intense molten gaze now fell freely down her slender face, and she reached up a paw once again to lightly brush against the cool golden sun. Wherever it had come from, the necklace was hers. It was made for her, and it symbolized a lot more than she was willing or able to comprehend at the moment. But it made her feel right again…. It made her feel strong, alive, reborn.

She didn’t have to give up. Everything was broken but that didn’t mean that it couldn’t be fixed, and now she was ready to try again. Irene could be better. The world couldn’t break her and she wouldn’t break herself. The Arcanium quickly regathered her things and put them back into her satchel, no longer willing to give them up. She needed those memories; despite how much pain they had caused her in the past. She would use them to build herself up again.

Irene wiped the tears from her face and squared her shoulders, pushing open the door to her home and stepping out into the bright light of the burning desert sun. A soft smile traced the edges of her lips, and her lovely amber eyes sparkled with new life. “I’m okay.”

  •   RUBY JANE TORMENTA-MILLION

    GENERAL INFORMATION:

    RUBY JANE TORMENTA-MILLION | "RUBY" | FEMALE [SHE/HER]

Ruby was named after the color of her eyes, which are the dark pinkish-red shade of ruby.

Pansexual biromantic | Monogomous | Sexuality currently undiscovered

Unborn [4 months] | Ages real time | Birthday TBD

Sanguine Ruins | First tier | No current titles | No former clans

    RELATIONSHIPS:

    VER x INCARNADINE

Siblings TBD | Older siblings are Sangria, Showpaw, Arya, Merlot, Carmenere, & Ambrose | Many half-siblings

    Single | ½ of ______ | 0 crushes | 0 'maybe' crushes | No former relationships

Platonic relationships are very easy to form with Ruby due to her outgoing and friendly personality; in fact, its entirely likely that she will try to force friendship on just about everyone she meets. Romantic relationships can be a bit difficult to form with her, however, as she can be very oblivious and ignorant towards others' true feelings; however, if you can get past this she will love and cherish her significant other with all her heart.

    APPEARANCE:

    GERMAN SHEPHERD X SERVAL HYBRID [BIRTH/MAIN] | STATUS: 100% | REFERENCE | HUMAN REF

    — Ruby, while she is a mix of both feline and canine, largely takes after Ver's wolf-like physique. Her body looks very much like that of a wolf hybrid, save for the fact that she is remarkably small; barely larger even than Nadine in her serval body, due to her being the runt of the litter. The one distinctly feline trait that she inherited is her long, bushy tail that rivals the length of her body. Her ears are slightly elongated, and even though she is short her legs look rather long in comparison to the rest of her body. Her fur is a dark charcoal, not quite pure black, and is rather long and fluffy. Her pelt is covered in light grey spots resembling the pattern found on servals, save for a few bare patches around her belly and hind legs. All of her paws, except for her front left paw, are tipped in that same grey hue, as well as her tail bearing matching colored, thick rings all the way down. Her eyes are big, round pools of bright ruby, and are entirely lacking a pupil. On the top of her head sprout two sets of small light ruby colored horns, pointing upwards and only measuring about an inch long. She also sports a pair of silky black and ruby bat wings between her shoulders. On her left flank she has an odd crescent moon-shaped ruby birthmark, perhaps her most unique physical trait.

    — Ruby loves all things pink and will likely end up wearing a pink silk bow somewhere on her body, along with other possible accessories she might pick up in her life.

    PERSONALITY:

Ruby is a sweet, bubbly character, and her biggest joy in life is being able to make those around her happy. She is very outgoing and loves making friends, though on this front she can be quite persistent and annoying at times. Her outlook on life is very optimistic, and she always believe that anyone can change and everyone deserves a second chance; however she tends to be naive and a tad too trusting. It is hard for her to see the evil inside some creatures, and therefore she runs a high risk of eventually finding trouble when faced with the reality that not everyone thinks the same way she does. Her family is the most important thing to her, and while she tends to be a bit of a pushover, she would do anything for those she loves and cares for. Perhaps not in a physical or aggressive manner, but she won't hesitate to speak up and stand up for what she believes is right. Due to her talkative nature, she tends to ask a lot of questions, and if someone knows how to do something she doesn't she will make it her mission to learn from them. On another note, the girl can be somewhat sensitive, and doesn't take well to confrontation or cruel words. She takes almost everything personally, even if it wasn't someone's intention to hurt her. She is also very easily influenced, and is likely to find a role model in anyone who makes an impression on her, good or bad; she will aspire to be just like them, and may even go so far as to try to act and speak just like them, doing everything that they do.

    — POSITIVE TRAITS: bubbly, gentle, sweet, charismatic, optimistic

    — NEUTRAL TRAITS: intelligent, outgoing, patient, energetic, adventurous

    — NEGATIVE TRAITS: naive, sensitive, oblivious, easily influenced, pushover

    IMPORTANT FACTS:

Ruby absolutely loves all things pink, so if anyone gives her something that is pink (and soft) she will be their very best friend for life.

Ruby, being the last born of the lot, is the runt of the litter. This makes her undeniably smaller than the rest of her siblings, but doesn't affect her physicality or mentality in any other ways.
