  • It had been a long time since she'd set foot in the Solaris Kingdom. A lot had happened between now and then, and Irene was returning greatly changed. She'd gotten terribly lost in the move from Earth to Agrelos, and when she'd finally been able to make her way home, everything was different. Her beloved niece Thea had passed away, the guy she was just beginning to love was gone, her children were all missing, and her relationship with her best friend felt strained and awkward. All of these things weighed heavily on the healer's shoulders, and she found it hard to remain in Blizzardclan for very long. Without saying a word she had left, and not quite knowing where else to turn, she soon found herself returning once again to her birthplace.

She knew that it was unlikely she would be greeted by familiar faces, but home was home, and without her children, Blizzardclan no longer felt like home. Of course, Solaris Kingdom was no longer located in the beautiful Solar City she had been raised in; every group had been relocated during the shift, and the journey had proved somewhat more difficult than she had anticipated. Thoroughly exhausted, yet still hopelessly optimistic, the winged hybrid trod slowly up to the border, the hot desert sun beating down relentlessly. Unsure of where to go from there, Irene sat herself down on the golden sand, raising one of her wings over her head to give herself some shade. It might be awhile before someone stumbled upon her, and the former Blizzardclan medic was no longer used to the heat. Unable to keep from fidgeting, the catsune squinted out into the seemingly endless horizon, keeping an eye out for any passing figures.

  • The heavy scent of flowers newly blooming choked the air and made the boy feel like he was suffocating. The droning of insects and the singing of birds all around him clouded together like white noise in his head. Spring was finally arriving here on the floating archipelago, in the forest that he never thought he'd lay eyes on again. Spring usually signified a new beginning, a fresh start, and perhaps that was what he'd been given, but it was hard to see how anything good could possibly come from what he'd been through. What his family had probably been through. At least, he'd hoped they'd been worried about him, that they'd tried to find him. Was it wrong to hope for that? The thought that someone out there still cared for him was the only thing that had kept him fighting to return. Astraeus had been... missing these past five months. Lost. Lost? No. Taken. By who? He wasn't sure. He didn't even want to know, it didn't matter now. They were... gone, now. He could go home now.

The only thing he'd allow himself to think of now were their faces, and what he remembered of them. His mother, his father, his sisters. Would any of them still be waiting for him to come wandering back some day, or had they given up on him long ago? The thought of returning to Blizzardclan to find nothing left for him made the young beast's stomach churn anxiously. What would he do, where would he go if his family no longer remained here? Or worse, what if they didn't want him back? He had been gone for a significantly long time, things were bound to be different now. He'd be stupid to think they'd welcome him back with joyful tears and a warm embrace, or that they could just get right back to being one big happy family. And yet, that was exactly what he found himself hoping for. Yes, he was stupid. The day that he'd been taken had been the day things changed forever. No going back. But he had to keep moving forward, there was no other option.

The violent throbbing from the deep gash marring his left side shook Astraeus out of his inner turmoil. The sunset-painted liger winced visibly, holding his breath as the wave of pain crashed through his body. He was pretty sure the wound was infected now, and the only thing he could do when these bouts of agony tore through him was wait for it to pass. But these episodes continued to grow worse the longer he went untreated, and Aster soon found himself unable to continue standing, slowly lowering his massive body to the emerald green grass below. He resisted the urge to groan, and gritted his elongated teeth together harshly until the aching began to subside. Panting now from the sheer effort of staying conscious, the young titan allowed himself to rest there on the ground for a few moments before heaving himself back onto his feet. Blood now stained the crisp jade blades, and he glanced down to see that his wound had opened again. Narrowing eyes the color of dawn, Aster merely grunted before taking another stumbling step towards where he remembered Blizzardclan's camp to be. He had to get home. He had to.

    - talk about how he got lost, how he doesn't want to remember it

    - kidnapped?

    - stumbles back to blizzardclan bloody and injured

    - won't tell anyone what happened yet

  • Well, here she was again. Made an outsider by her own careless acts, forced to look inward on the life she once enjoyed. Irene had disappeared once again, vanishing from the lives of her clanmates and loved ones several long months ago. She had a bad habit of doing that, and each time she came wandering back was more difficult than the last. The result of her chosen solitude had been missing out on the growth and important events of the lives of those she cherished. Hell, they were all probably long gone by now. That was the punishment she suffered for leaving unexpectedly; she was doomed to return to nothing. Although, perhaps this time she would look on it as an opportunity rather than a burden. Now she could start over, forget all the times she had let anyone down. Maybe she could even forget the resentment and disdain that had flooded her daughter's eyes the last time they'd spoken.

The heat of the desert might be considered uncomfortable to most, but the warmth that seeped into her bones was familiar and beautiful. The elegant catsune sat gracefully upon the soft golden sands, her molten amber gaze scanning the expanse that she remembered to be the border. Solaris Kingdom. How many times had she found her way back here throughout the course of her life? Too many to count. But it was her home, her birthplace, and she would never be able to deny the strong ties that repeatedly guided her back to the city of the sun. Irene subconsciously allowed her silky twin tails to drift down and encircle her ornately patterned body, content to wait. Someone would stumble upon her eventually, they always did. And while she waited, the femme couldn't help but feed the kindling of hope burning in her heart that someone she knew might still be around.

  • Memories danced through the cursed spirit's mind, moving in and out of reach, so close he could almost grab them and yet they managed to evade him every time. His head ached as if he'd been struck down by the wrath of the gods themselves, and it kept him constantly stumbling as he wandered aimlessly through the dim blackness of the forest. Where the hell am I..? It was a question that the alabaster beast had been repeating to himself over and over since he'd awoken days ago, along with, What the hell happened to me? The last actual memory he was able to tap into was of himself, much younger than he was now, chasing his siblings through their home in Boneclan. And now? Now he had absolutely no idea what was going on. He'd suddenly woken up not three days past in an unfamiliar field, in an unfamiliar body, and everything between that last memory and now was completely blank. Ty had no idea where he was, or where he was going, but he did know that it was growing increasingly hard to stay on his feet. Exhaustion crept through the lithe tiger's limbs, his usually bright amber eyes growing dimmer with every step he took.

Another flash of a distant memory raced through his thoughts, bringing with it a sudden and searing pain that coursed through his every nerve and finally brought the agile creature careening towards the ground. Unable to catch himself in time, Riptide braced himself, gritting his teeth and emitting a low growl as his heavy body connected with the hard earth below. The resounding thud rattled his bones, shaking loose a long string of curses as the large feline slumped onto the forest floor.

For several long moments, he had the willpower to do nothing more than lay there, allowing that dull ache to fade as he came to terms with the fact that he was flush out of both strength and ideas. And yet, he knew that he could not stay here. Ty had to find answers, and if possible, he needed to find his family as well. He wouldn't be able to achieve either of those goals if he allowed himself to just give up and fade away to nothing in this grim maze of trees. Allowing himself one last, deep calming breath, the ebony striped tiger heaved himself back onto all fours rather ungracefully. A swift glance back at his once silky pelt revealed his snowy fur was now covered in moss, as well as glowing rather strangely from the luminescent fungi littering the ground. "Dammit. That is just fantastic," he grumbled quietly to himself, trying in vain to shake the debris off his hide. A renewed sense of purpose flooded his molten amber eyes as he turned back to scour the foliage for a path ahead.

  • Ty had only just been promoted to Midnightbringer, and yet he felt a driving need to prove himself worthy of the role. Back when they'd had a meeting discussing how they could improve relations with allies, he'd mentioned an idea for an event that he thought they'd all enjoy. And now, he had the chance to put that event in motion. With help from his co-worker, Adara, the pair had managed to get everything set up and the invitations sent out in a timely manner, and now all he had to do was wait for a few of their guests to show up before he explained what would be going down.

They had set everything up at the Sun Spot, the only place in the Veil's territory where sunlight was able to break through the thick layer of trees that kept everything else shrouded in darkness. It wasn't a very large clearing, but he didn't anticipate everyone they invited actually showing up, so it should be enough space for their 'battlegrounds'. Yes, the event they were hosting today was a mock battle, an ally-wide spar that would hopefully both strengthen their bonds and prepare them all for the fights that were still likely to come. Along the side of the clearing, near the small pond, were four large buckets. If one were to look inside, they would find each one filled with paint; two filled with blue paint, two filled with red paint. There was also a smaller bucker, labeled "MEDICINE", which was filled with soapy water and a few sponges.

After a decent amount of time had passed, and several of their allies had started filing in, Ty figured it would be okay for him to get up there and start laying down the rules so that they could get started soon. The piebald tiger leapt up onto one of the taller roots sticking out of the ground underneath large tree near the pond. He gazed out over the crowd, trying not to feel nervous as he looked at each of their faces. This was his very first event, and he wanted it to go well. Clearing his throat loudly, the midnightbringer waited until he had almost everyone's attention before he began speaking. "Alright everyone, listen up! Today we're going to be having a 'mock battle', both for practice and just for fun! We're going to divide everyone up into two teams, hopefully both with an equal amount of healers and warriors, and each team will be assigned a color. The color of your team is important, because we're going to be using washable paint to keep track of 'injuries', so make sure you pay attention to that."

Riptide paused a moment and gestured towards the buckets beside him. "There will be a red team and a blue team, and each team has two buckets of paint with their designated colors in them. Before the battle, as well as every time you take a break or leave the battle to be 'healed', you'll dip your paws - and if you want, your muzzles - into the paint. That way, when you're sparring and you make a hit on your opponent, we can tell where they were injured and how severe the injury was." The feline took a breath, letting that information sink in before continuing. "Now, we also have a bucket of soapy water and sponges over here. The healers for each team are going to do just that - whenever you see your teammates have been badly injured, or they come to you, you'll assess how to mend them. We obviously can't use real supplies, since that would be a waste, so we'll use water. Once they have been 'healed', one of your little helpers - which will be the children who are too young to fight - will use the sponge to wash away the paint from the injury you fixed. That way we don't have too many warriors getting out too quickly. Feel free to change opponents when you return to the battle."

One last pause, then he would continue his lengthy explanation. Hopefully the rules wouldn't be too complicated; this was the best and most efficient way he and Adara could come up with for a spar of this size. "So, in order to keep this thing from running on too long, the warriors can get knocked out of the battle. If someone receives a fatal wound or is knocked unconscious, like a torn throat or a hard hit to the head, you'd be out of the game. You can also get out if you have too many severe wounds and don't get treated by a healer - you can accumulate up to five serious wounds without being healed before you're out. Adara and I will be the ones to determine whether or not someone's wounds are severe enough for them to be out, so we'll be watching - but if we miss anything, we hope that you'll be honest enough to admit when you're out on your own."

That was pretty much it for the rules; he only had a couple more things to say before they could start. "Also, powers will not be allowed in this spar. It makes things too complicated, and we want everything to be fun and fair for everyone. We do have foam swords and daggers over here if you prefer to fight with a weapon, just be sure to dip those in the paint too. And please, make sure to be safe. We don't want anyone getting hurt here, and if we find out someone has been playing too rough, you'll be ejected from the game. We're going to give out prizes for everyone who participates, as a thank you for coming and hanging out with us today. I'll make another announcement soon once we have everyone divided into teams, but until then feel free to socialize or ask questions if anything was confusing. Thanks for being here, everyone. We truly hope you all have fun." With that, the brute jumped down from his little stage, lingering near the base of the tree next to Adara in case anyone had any questions.

[ooc: alright guys, so here's how this works! its basically a paint war, where everyone will be split up into red and blue teams. Blue team will use blue paint, red team will use red paint. The paint will be used to keep track of everyone's wounds and how severe they would be in a real battle, based on their placement. Characters who play healers and don't want to actually fight can play healers in the spar, and just pretend to heal their teammates when they are injured! kids who are too young to fight or heal will be 'helpers', so they will be the ones washing the paint off the warriors when they get treated. if your character is hit with a 'fatal' injury, or one that would knock them out in a real battle, they'll be out of the game. they can only have 5 serious injuries without being healed before they are out also, so make sure your character stops to be healed every now and then! i know its a bit confusing, but we wanted to make it as interesting as possibly - so feel free to ask us any questions you might have!

We have a sign-up thread to make teams :

And we will also be giving out badges to everyone who makes 5+ posts in this thread! ]
