there was nothing that made aegis more anxious than having to talk with people. her first real memory was of waking up in a small clearing, surrounded by her future clanmates. she had decided to join the clan for a small while, hoping to leave once she recovered her memories, but apparently that was not possible anymore. the last thing that happened was quite unexpected- the leader of sunclan himself had decided to adopt a complete nobody like herself. it left a bit of a sour taste in the feline's mouth, so immediately following her return to camp, she declared that she would be taking the week off to thoroughly explore the territory before doing anything else. it was an adequate excuse for taking an excruciatingly long walk in order to clear her head. it was also an excuse for her roleplayer to be inactive the whole week.
fourth wall-breaking aside, the young sunclanner noted that a week had passed with a sigh. the light-colored feline found herself pacing around a small square within solar city, the largest portion of sunclan territory. it was also the place she was most familiar with, with it being the place she was supposed to live and all. aegis felt her ears twitch a little, a sign that she was nervous. was she doing anything right? what if she messed up, and nobody actually came? she knew she should have planned this better, written up a script or something to follow. then again, if she did write up a script, it would be... fake. she didn't want anyone to see her as someone like that. aegis shuddered, the tip of her cream tail flicking around. luckily, there weren't many sunclanners around to see her anxious like this, or rather, not until she called out to them. it was important for her to give off the air of a confident, mature person who knew exactly what she was doing.
she had no idea what she was doing.
"hello everyone, i'll be hosting a meet and greet...?" fuck. shit. son of a bitch. if it wasn't for the questioning tone at the end of her sentence, it would have been a perfect line delivery. aegis had gone over what she was going to say about a dozen times, and she done fucked it up. great. she felt her face burn with embarrassment, convinced that her clanmates were going to judge her for this. in her own eyes, it was a horrible first- no, second- impression. somehow, the girl managed to keep up a calm demeanor, though any close observers would be able to tell that her fur was slightly raised and that her muscles were tensed up.
