  • HAUNTEDPAW

Haunted moved silently through the thick plant growth, pausing occasionally to pick a spider or thorn out of her fur. She flicked her ears in annoyance. She had instantly taken to the jungle, for at night, the trees and vines blocked most of the moonlight, making it dark and shadowy, perfect for this cursed gal. Besides, she was best at night, for she was all black, except for her skeleton markings, which was a white in color.

Hau smiled. The jungle was perfect for her. In the jungle, no one could hear you scream. In fact, the jungle was as twisted and dark as her own heart. The trees swayed in the wind, allowing a slight amount of moonlight to fall through the network of leaves, branches, and vines, causing shadows and light danced across her pelt. She walked along a seemingly abandoned path. As she walked, she had time to look around and memorize the land. The place really was beautiful. She inhaled the intoxicating scent of all of the tropical plants, then suddenly stopped.

    Toxicwaste ,

  • Toxicwaste enjoyed the twisted landscape of a jungle due to his experience in it—through his time in the Cartel he learned that navigation in such a biome was no different than anywhere else, like a thick forest. That's all it was, really: a thick forest with tangled vegetation. Usually with a warmer climate, sure. But he didn't mind that.

His personal laboratory was tucked somewhere in a jungle, ironically, hidden from plain sight. He hadn't any experiments to work on, but he would try to grasp a better understanding of his last patient this time. The feline had understood that this was a path not very traveled on, and he was surprised to see his own daughter walking along this abandoned route. Perhaps just exploring the territory. "Dear, are you...alright?" Tox reluctantly called out to Hauntedpaw, unsure of what to say. Should he reveal the whereabouts of his lab to his sole child?

The voice made her head turn slightly. Enough to glance at her father with calm chocolate eyes. Frankly, she was as surprised as he was. She had no idea that her father had a lab out here. Nor would she care that he did. He could be out here building zombies and she would love him. She could never hate her father. Though her paws seemed to stay planted in the dirt here. Tail curling a bit as she turned her gaze back to what she had been looking at the first time.

"Do you see him?" She would reply without answering his question. Her voice was almost tranquil. As if something had her in a daze. She loved her gift, really. Before here, in the darkness of the path, was a spirit. A massive canine. She was ghost hunting and here it was. "It looks so lost. Hopeless. Trapped." She almost whispered as she tore her gaze from it and back to Tox.

  • Tox could only feel the same way about his children—they could be hacking and slashing and eating and manipulating and he wouldn't care, as long as they weren't doing it to a fellow Daremo. It would come as a bit of a surprise to find out that he could be a family man, but that's just how it was. Like any other active father, he wanted his offspring to grow up secure and full of vigor and health. Unlike himself. He was simply a lost cause at this point.

His hollow green gaze turned away from Hauntedpaw to look just past the feline, attempting to view who she was addressing. At first he worried that she would bear the signs of schizophrenia—a parent's worst nightmare—for he couldn't see a single thing aside from the thick vegetation surrounding the path. Alas it was merely a far-fetched dread he felt, one he could only hope wasn't real. Before them stood what he saw was the faint, ghostly outline of something, Tox being able to notice it solely through the Sight. What it truly was, he didn't know. His ability or "gift" was nowhere near as well as his daughter's. "What...What is it, dear?" he inquired curiously, his voice soft and gentle.

  • HAUNTEDPAW

Hau would pause as he spoke to her. So, he didn't see it? Or, he did, but not like her. She could see it in fine detail. Yes, it was a strange beast. The girl must have gotten a skill from her dad, but at a scary high level. That was interesting to her. Very interesting. Her attention would turn to her father fully now.

"It is a canine. I'm not sure what kind. It seems to be looking for something." The girl would let her tail wave calmly. She slowly sank into a seated position. She had no idea he had feared her sanity. Though maybe he should have. She was out seeking spirits, after all. If that didn't scream crazy, she had no idea what would.

  • The spirit of a massive canine that looked for something. That reminded him all too much of his uncle Seeker, who would be Hauntedpaw's grand-uncle, it seemed. Alas, that demonic entity was trapped inside his dwelling in the Cartel, though he first inhabited the feline's mind throughout his apprenticeship in the Arcane. Toxicwaste could pick out a faint outline, but nothing more. Hauntedpaw must bear a gift rather than sheer insanity. Peculiar as it was, he'd reluctantly accept such an ability that stretched far beyond his own. But why was she here, on this path that rarely anyone walked on? Surely he hadn't learned of his lab. "Were you following it here?" he inquired softly, his gaze never leaving the phantom. Would it take them somewhere? He needed to rely on Hauntedpaw, for his own ability was faint and near useless...unless in the case of loud, bombastic demons like his uncle. No, those he saw rather vividly mainly because of how much attention they aimed to attract to themselves.

The girl would blink in surprise as he asked if she followed the canine here. Blinking, the girl would turn her gaze back from the canine and shake her head. "No. I hunt for spirits, actually. Crazy as it sounds. I find it, well, fun." Sitting slowly, she would turn her gaze and watch the spirit wander off. Should she follow it? No. That could be unwise. She was always out wandering. she had no clue he had a lab, though she would be curious if she knew. Wanting to learn from her dad and be a part of it. Maybe she was weird. "What has you out here? Seems like no one comes here." She mused as she looked at the thicker growth. Was he hunting something to? That would be interesting.
