  • and this chaos, it defies imagination

Zed had seen a couple of them around the territory and considering how he wanted to go through with the idea of raiding HawkClan, he might as well prepare. The white wolf had managed to fix up some baited boxes. They were made of stiff cardboard, shut tightly with duct tape, with a hole fixed near the bottom. Where the hole was, it was ringed with a mixture of glass and glue, with the shards pointing inwards so that those who tried to crawl back out would encounter a face full of sharp points.

"Anyone want to help me with setting these traps?" Zed inquired as he stepped into the main hub of the Exiles camp. He'd left the boxes right outside the pack's headquarters since he didn't want to carry all of them here. All they had to do was find some live mice to throw in there as bait for snakes.

"What are those for, sir?" I'd ask, padding over with my head cocked in curiosity. I gave the larger male a wide berth as I circled around. "I can help." I added quickly, wanting to appear useful. I wasn't sure how I was supposed to prove I belonged, but I was going to try whatever I could to make Zedekiah see that I did. Whatever this task was it couldn't be so difficult that I couldn't figure it out, right?

  • "We're nabbing some snakes!" The pale blonde wolf would answer back cheerily as he joined the two males, his attention solely fixed on the handmade traps. It was a simple design but hell, it worked. Anyhow, if he could remember correctly, they were supposed to release these snakes where the hawks in Hawkclan nested. Those birds were important to the culture of the proclan so fucking with them would totally hurt them and maybe destroy their moral. Hell, the might even be able to piss off their god.

Anyhow, the traps were still unbaited so they'd have to find something to put in them. Fortunately, the mall was ful of disused stores that were lairs for vermin. And Alcibiades knew quite a few rat nests around the place, after all, he nearly turned the place upside down when he was hunting for trinkets during his first day back. "I know Victoria's Secret has a few rat nests, last time I checked, one of the rat queens was pregnant. We can probably take her babies to use as bait."

  • "Aw, rats!" Okay, he had to say that. He was contractually obligated to.

Anywho, he would be going along for the ride. Snakes were crafty and reminded him of a certain beast he had known of, so this may be a fantastic opportunity to get a read on how serpents went about defending themselves. Him, being as clueless as always, had not the faintest idea about what they would be used for.

    EXILER - 16 MONTHS - MALE - SINGLE

"Snakes?" I'd echo, sounding uncertain. I wasn't sure what we needed them for, or if we just had an infestation to deal with, but a part of me hoped that a certain 3 mambas and a white python were with their person. "We should be careful then, we don't want to accidentally catch Hebi's friends." I'd say. His snakes were pretty distinct though, and I was confident that I'd be able to tell them from the others if I saw them.

At Alci's suggestion I'd nod in agreement, figuring the plan was good enough. I wasn't sure if the rats would be okay with us just popping in to raid their nests, but they were just rodents, right? I was pretty fast and could catch food for myself, so taking on some rodents should be just fine. Probably. Hopefully.

"Snake traps," Zedekiah nodded, giving each a nod of greeting as they arrived. Oliver, Alcibiades, Pit--he recognized all of them. He gestured for them to follow him back towards where he had put the boxes, inviting them to come. As he padded along, he explained his plan. "We're going to catch some mice and rats first, and those will bring out the snakes."

There was a small snort from the wolf at Oliver's caution about Hebi's snakes. If they were dumb enough to get caught, they might as well be used for the HawkClan, attack, no? It didn't seem like they did anything outside of lounge around with their master. "We can bait some of them with some sweets first to get the bait in. Once we have the bait in there, we can just move the boxes to where snakes might be." As he arrived at the pile of boxes, he turned to look back at the others. "That's how I would do it. If you want to do it any other way, as long as it ends up with getting some snakes, I don't care."

  • "Nah don't worry, I don't think those fatass snakes would be able to fit into the jar at all," the pale canine would remark with a snort of amusement at Oliver's statement. The fact that the canine was so buddy buddy with Mr. dog hater bothered him a little but he said nothing about that. He had thoughts that Hebi was trying to dupe the kid and use their naive ass for something but he couldn't be sure. Noticing that Pit also joined them, he would offer the kid a nod of greeting before tuning into the albino wolf's explanation.

Anyhow, Zed's plan was pretty solid but Alci was impatient for results. And baby rats were a delicacy right? Snakes should be all over that shit. "If anyone wants to slap some rat queens with me and possibly get bit, come with me," the cream colored canine would announce with a small grin, "there's a 76 percent chance that the bite will get infected so choose wisely!"

  • Their plan sounded solid to him. The Exiles had plenty of brilliant minds to spare, now that he thought of it. Jeez, they really were an unstoppable group. Thank gods this place had been chosen for him instead of the holes-in-the-wall that the other clans were.

He'd be tagging along with Alci's group since he'd kill for a thrill right then. "Those snakes'll never know what bit 'em." Another one. Seriously, Pit?"
