  • Ooc: I'll get the picture for him in a bit

Ic: Parker was sitting amoung the many desks of Ms. Lee's seventh period English class. Ms. Lee was talking about an upcoming project in which the kids would be assigned a scene from one of many Shakespeare's plays. She was splitting up the kids into different group at the moment. A group of five got the banquet scene from Macbeth, a pair would do the nunnery scene from Hamlet and so one and so forth. When it landed on Parker, he was assigned the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet along with a girl from the back.

  • i will get a picture of her too in a little bit))

Astrid loved shakespeare's work, and she was excited they were gonna do something involving it, until she figured out what exactly they were going to be doing. Her heart dropped as she learned they were going to be acting out scenes in front of the entire class, and they don't get to pick their partners.

She gave her best friend Veronica a look that screamed 'kill me now'. The teacher was reading off pairings and slowly but surely more and more of her classmates were getting assigned scenes. Finally reaching her, Astrid was told she would be doing the Romeo & Juliet balcony scene with none other than Parker, resident bad boy.

You know that feeling your stomach gets when you go down a roller coaster? That's the feeling she got now. She had always thought he was attractive, but he was a bad boy and she was an unpopular nerd. It would never work between them.

The whole class turned to look at her, some gave her looks of pity and some just snickered. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and looked down.

  • Ms. Lee told the kids to go meet with their partner or group and read through the scene with them so they could get an idea. Parker rolled his eyes. He didn't want to do this assignment. Heck he didn't want to be in the class, but if he skipped last period one more time, he wasn't getting kicked out. He couldn't do that to his mother again. He got up and walked over to Astrid's desk. He figured it was hers judging on how she was hiding from the snickering. He sat in an empty seat next to hers. "Let's just get this over with" he sighed opening up his copy of the scene Ms. Lee had handed to them.

  • Astrid looked up as Parker sat down. He didn't look too pleased to be paired with her, and she fought back the urge to roll her eyes. "Let's." She spoke, picking up her own copy and flipping over it. The scene wasn't that long but there was a part where they were supposed to kiss. Her eyes widened slightly and she glanced over at Parker. Just then Ms.Lee walked by and she cleared her throat catching the teachers attention. "Do we actually have to kiss?" She asked curiously. Ms.Lee nodded. "Yes of course! But it's just a kiss. You have a month to prepare and get to know each other so it won't be awkward." and with that she walked away.

  • Parker just kept his gaze glued to the script as he scanned through. He would never admit it out loud, but he did like the poetry of Shakespeare's writing. It moved him at times. If word got out though, he would never live it down. He stumbled upon where the kiss would happen and he looked up. "There is no way I'm kissing a freaky nerd like her" he protested earning a glare from Ms. Lee. He sat down looked over at Astrid.

"Mr. Evans, do you want a referral, because you're about to get one if you keep this up" Ms. Lee inform.

Parker grumbled glancing back at the book. "Look how are we even going to do this scene?" he asked

  • Astrid felt her blood boil at his words but kept her cool. She just avoided his gaze and bit her lip, pushing her glasses up the bridge of her nose once more.

"Honestly i don't know. But i'm not failing because of you so we are getting through it somehow." She spoke, standing up just as the bell rang. She put the script in her bag and looked at him expectantly.

"So when and where do you wanna meet to practice?"

  • Parker rolled his eyes at her comment. "Fine, but you'd better get used to being with me for a month Juliet" he teased. As the bell rang he let out a sigh of relief, about to go out and leave the school as quick as possible until Astrid stopped him. "You busy tonight? We could start now, you know get it out of the way" he said

  • Astrid rolled her eyes right back at his comment. Adjusting her strap on her shoulder she pondered the thought of tonight for a moment before agreeing. "Yeah tonight's fine. We can meet at the library at 6:00?" She offered. She was going to try to be as nice as possible to him, no matter how much of a jerk he was. If they were going to be stuck together for a month she didn't want to make it any harder on herself.

  • Parker was half listening as he fixed his jacket. "6? Yeah I can do that then sweetheart. I'll see you then" he smirked. He walked out of the classroom and out to his motorcycle to drive out.

  • Parker arrived at the library at 6 pm like what was agreed upon earlier. He went inside and spotted Astrid in the back. He smirked and walked over. He sat down beside her. He smelled of cigarettes and it was very obvious. "Hey sweetheart, ready to start this thing?"

  • Astrid wrinkled her nose as the strong smell of cigarettes hit her. Her father had died from lung cancer from smoking so she was totally against it. She shouldn't have been surprised that it was Parker. She gave a simple nod in response to him, and pulled out her script. She had already highlighted the parts she was to read. "Smoking kills you know." She mumbled

  • "What makes you think I don't know that? Look we can talk about my activities later and we can work on this freaking project" Parker said opening his script. He had highlighted his lines and looked over at her

  • Astrid fought the urge to just get up and leave. What's one bad grade right?

Sighing she decided against it, she could do this. "Alright alright." She said, and began to go over the script with Parker.

    TIMESKIP

smiling slightly, Astrid packed the script away and stood up. They had been at it for about an hour and a half and it was probably good to go home. She actually kind of enjoyed herself today, Parker wasn't that bad to hang out with. Actually she could admit she had fun. She thought they actually got along pretty well. But those were just her thoughts, he could've hated it for all she knew.

  • Parker finished up with Astrid and he had to admit that he liked it. Astrid was a nice girl, and definitely knew her stuff. He did have some fun during their hour and a half of working on this. "Hey...do you have a ride home? Cause I could give you one if you want" he suggested looking over at her

  • Astrid looked over at Parker. They had stayed later than she anticipated, it was fake out now and it was a solid 15 minute walk back to her house. It was probably better to take him up on his offer. The thing is, she'd never rode on a motorcycle before. "Uh, i'd like to take you up on that but i've never rode a motorcycle before." She admitted shyly, fiddling with the tip of her hair.

  • Parker took her hand and looked at her. "It's almost just like a bike, but faster. I'm going to control the motorcycle, all you need to do is hold on tight. Got it Trid?" he asked leading her over to his motorcycle

  • Astrid was surprised at how his demeanor changed. He could actually be sweet! She nodded and followed him, letting him lead her. "Trid?" She questions, amused. She had never been given a nickname before. She felt her stomach lurch and it was a feeling she'd never had before as she glanced at their hands together. It was a feeling like she'd read about in her many books.
