fantasy shattered, reality embraced (arranged marriage x mythical creatures)

muse a is a princess.

muse b is a prince.

both royals are from neighboring kingdoms that have had a tenuous alliance for hundreds of years. the prince's kingdom has a formidable army, while the princess' kingdom has plentiful gold and silks. war is threatening to come to their lands and the only thing that can secure peace for both kingdoms is a union of families by marriage of the next heirs to the throne. the prince and princess are set to be wed shortly after their first meeting, an arrangement made by their fathers. the prince knows of this plan, yet the princess is left in the dark because her father doesn't have the heart to tell her the news.

the prince is sent to visit with the princess' family for a while, and it doesn't take long for the princess to find out what's happening. in her anger and dismay, she disappears from the castle, unknowingly trailed after by the prince. he uncovers a secret that she has been keeping for quite some time -- what most deem her "imagination" is actually quite real. he makes a foolish decision to return to his kingdom and tell his father what he has seen. this causes the outbreak of the very war they feared, for the prince's father now wants what belongs, not to the princess' kingdom, but to the princess herself.

with a police officer for a mother, a lawyer for a father, and a grade a goody-two-shoes for a twin, it was no wonder god tossed in a wild card in the form of rozlyn reynolds. being a frequent at the station where her mother worked was embarrassing, but it wouldn't hold a candle to the scandal that would rock this small town. she met someone in her mother's workplace, a very bad someone who came from the wrong side of the tracks. her mother warned her away from him, even showed rozlyn his criminal record for good measure, but none of it mattered -- he'd grabbed her attention and she wanted him. bad. and what rozlyn wanted, rozlyn got, one way or the other.

their relationship was one for silver falls' history books; the two of them together wreaked havoc on the small town. yet rozlyn yearned for so much more and convinced her boyfriend skip town with her... though they never actually quite made it out of town. everything had happened so fast the night they planned to leave, it was almost a blur -- gun fire, her ex-boyfriend bleeding to death, and her current boyfriend abandoning her at the scene.

lucky for her boyfriend, her ex-boyfriend pulled through; at least he wouldn't be charged with murder. rozlyn had heard through the grape vine he was planning on skipping town and, although she loved him (god, did she love him), he had to pay for what he'd done. and so, with her mother's help, she lured him to a secret meeting spot to say her goodbyes. in the end, however, he was arrested and she was left feeling guilty over the entire situation.

most importantly, she was left pregnant.

six years have passed since then, with rozlyn doing the best she can do to raise her daughter in a town that can't seem to let go of the past. but what happens when he appears on her doorstep after all these years? now that he's found her with a child he never knew existed, what are his intentions

the year is twenty-one nineteen. nearly a hundred years ago, a nuclear war destroyed civilization on earth. the survivors found refuge up in space, where twelve international space stations formed the ark. they survived for nearly three generations... then their oxygen supply proved to be too low for any further chance of survival. so, without many other options, they turned to the hundred juvenile prisoners who sat in their cells after committing various crimes. they put them on a ship and sent them to earth with a wristband monitoring their vitals. if the prisoners proved the planet habitable by surviving, the ark planned on coming back home to earth. however, if the prisoners didn't survive, the ark had no choice bu to turn to their other options, which would result in the death of nearly half of the population. it was all up to the hundred prisoners.

muse a was never meant to be on the ship -- he only joined because his sisters were being sent down there, and he'd be damned if he let them go alone. they were all he had left and vice versa. there's a chance that he -- along with the seventy-four other prisoners -- will survive in the dense forest that sits infested with other inhabitants that want them all dead. they've already slaughtered twenty-seven of his people, and hatred for the grounders has grown inside his heart.

and now his people have caught one.

muse b was only dragged into skaikru camp because she was risking everything to save someone else. she was the best of the best and highly trained within her clan. but one wrong move and she was captured -- but her mission was far from over and if she doesn't escape soon, she will lose the person she loves most. will the grounder grow on skaikru's leader, or will he use the grounder as a means to an end in order to wipe out the clan of the woods once and for all?
