I mean, it doesn't really matter if it matches the previous ages.Just look at DC and Marvel comics. In different universes the same people are different ages at relatively the same time in their timeline which is why you can call losts of things "canon" and still have things contradict because things are different on the different Earths.

I think Stetson and Ry might be comparable friendship wise, both like to keep to themselves and just chill. Ryder will probably think he's just the most precious thing he's met and wants to make sure no one hurts him. I'd say romantic but, I'm uncomfortable with the age gap. :/
Also scar. maybe Regal and Ry? Both seem to like the same things and Regal's outgoing personality might bring Ry out of his shell a lot. -
