THE WILD WEST
The late 1800's, the age in which the wild west took form. Most known for cowboys, bandits, and its lawless lands. However, this isn't about the humans, this is about the dogs of the wild west. Just like the humans of the wild west, they lived their own lives. They had their own families, had their own jobs, had friends, and definitely had enemies. The canines of the west had their own lives just like their human counterparts. They had their own little settlements and groups. These are their stories and these are their lives.
This takes place in the west AKA the Wild West. The year is somewhere in the late 1800's. Out in the west, the land is mostly untamed well, wild. Deserts and canyons rule the land. However, there are some mountains and forests here and there, along with human towns and settlements. There are also bigger cities but they are mostly inhabited by richer humans and their spoiled pets. This thread is about the dogs who live in this wild and untamed land. Of course, there will be drama and action and romance. Just make sure you're capable of surviving all of it. (If you have any questions or anything to add, go ahead!)
The Canyons: There are multiple canyons throughout the land. Most of them, however, are further in. They are large and can be easy to get lost in. Human criminals and a few dogs take to calling these canyons home. Sometimes rivers run through them and tiny bits of vegetation grow within. The people who live here sometimes create small living areas in the caves that are carved into the rock of the canyons. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3
The Towns and Settlements: Humans and other animals call these places home. They are usually quite small and don't house that many people but it's home to those who live there. Most are found in the middle of nowhere while some others are more well known and quite big. There are houses, shops, saloons, train stops, and all that kind of stuff. However, just be sure to try and avoid pissing off any of the horses. You might just get kicked. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3
Bigger cities: These places are much bigger than the towns and settlements and are a bit more civilized. People who live here are mostly rich and insanely proper. The pets and dogs who live here are usually just like the people. They are stuck up and snobby and incredibly stubborn. 'Desert dogs' (this is the main name for what the dogs who live out in smaller towns and the desert are called) don't exactly like taking walks in these cities because they usually get judged and bullied. That and they really don't want to start any fights because there is the possibility of them getting shot by authorities. The cities are usually located beside bodies of water such as lakes or large rivers. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3
The Desert: It is quite an unforgiving land out there. Full of snakes, coyotes, wild horses, and all the fun stuff that could probably kill you. The heat can take its toll on you if you don't know how to take care of yourself. At night, the temperatures drop just like that and it becomes incredibly cold. It takes a lot of knowledge and experience to be able to survive out here for a long amount of time. There are a few rivers and lakes that can replenish your thirst but they are quite hard to find. So, when entering the desert, just make sure you're ready. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3
The Forests: Sure, the land may be mostly taken over by deserts and dead plants but there are also a few forests in which animals such as bears, wolves, and elk live. Here, there are plenty of trees for shade and plenty of lakes, rivers, and ponds to keep you hydrated. They are usually found close to mountains or large bodies of water and aren't incredibly common. Forests are very spaced out and a bit sparse. Photo 1 Photo 2 Photo 3
Additional Photos
Desert Dog: Desert Dogs are dogs that don't call any towns, settlements, or cities home. They live out in the vast desert and have learned how to survive. Sometimes they travel either with a companion, in packs, groups, or alone. Desert Dogs will sometimes visit towns, cities, and settlements. They range from all ages, genders, sizes, and breeds. Desert Dogs are quite common and humans may come across a few while out on a horse ride. Desert Dogs usually end up forming packs or groups while others tend to like to stay alone. Some Desert Dogs become legends of the west in both the human and dog world.
Law Rider: Law Riders are dogs that are owned by sheriffs. They help out when arresting criminals and making sure no trouble ever comes upon them and the people they protect. Law Riders are usually former Desert Dogs that have been adopted by local sheriffs to be their trusty companions. Sometimes Law Riders will leave their home to travel a bit but they always come back. However, some Law Riders either become newly formed Desert Dogs or return to the Desert Dog life. As sad as the sheriffs are to let them go, they are accepting of their dog's decision.
Outliers and Gamblers: Outliers and Gamblers are the outlaws and bandits of the dog world. They are known for their cocky attitudes and aggressive behavior. Outliers and Gamblers are also known to lead criminal groups to come and cause chaos on other dog kind. They're quite unpredictable and the main target of Law Riders. Outliers and Gamblers sometimes even cause chaos and trouble for humans. There is really no main name for Outliers and Gamblers. They're either known as Outliers or Gamblers. Either way, they're the criminals of the dog world.
Tourist: Tourists are dogs that were born and raised in the spoiled life. They don't know what it's like living the rough life of being out in the desert. Most of them are just like their owners, rude and snobby. However, some of them long for life out in the desert but don't have the experience nor the skill. Tourists are always brought along with their owners when they travel to towns and settlements and sometimes have fun bullying the locals. Some Tourists get lost and have to start quickly adapting to the life of a Desert Dog or somehow find their way back home. Tourists, however, are incredibly spoiled by their rich owners and have little to no knowledge of how to survive out in the wild west.
Reds and Dusters: Reds and Dusters are dogs who live in the towns and settlements. They are owned by the people who live there, such as gamblers, saloon owners, shop owners, and all of that. Reds and Dusters do occasionally travel but always return home to their owner just so they know that they are okay. Reds and Dusters are almost always welcoming and kind to any Desert Dogs who choose their place to take a break in. However, some are a bit wary about Desert Dogs. Reds and Dusters don't like Tourists at all and always dread the day when they arrive.
Chasers: Chasers are dogs who live on ranches and farms. They help their owners protect their livestock and help them with other farm chores like keeping the place safe from crime and herding certain animals. Chasers, just like any other dog, also travel. Some Chasers become Desert Dogs and some actually become Outliers or Gamblers. However, they are always loyal to their owners and make sure to do their job right. Chasers don't spend their whole lives just sitting around on a farm and do travel quite often when given the chance. They are also used as hunting dogs sometimes.
Hitchers and Conductors: Hitchers and Conductors are dogs that like to travel by train. They hitch a ride and allow themselves to be whisked to wherever. Sometimes they make a living off of it by helping dogs who are trying to run away from abusive owners or by helping lost dogs who need to get back to their owners. Hitchers and Conductors sometimes become the pet of the conductor of the train. Sometimes they may even help Outliers and Gamblers keep on the run from Law Riders. Hitchers and Conductors know quite a lot about trains and are willing to help you if you're willing to give them the right payment. They are basically Desert Dogs but have a deep connection with the railroads and trains.
Lucks: Lucks are any dog who are still considered puppies. They are quite innocent and still have much to learn about the world. Lucks will grow up to be anything. Some may grow up to be Desert Dogs while others may grow up to an Outlier or a Gambler while others will become Tourists. Either way, Lucks are any dog that is still a puppy or a kid. Lucks usually live with their parents until they are around 1 or 2. However, some Lucks leave at earlier ages to go and explore the world. Since they are so young, Lucks tend to be a bit naive. Outliers and Gamblers like to kidnap Lucks and turn them into one of them.

Rules
- This is a semi-advanced thread so I expect you to be semi-advanced
- At least a paragraph (7 sentences) or more each post
- You must also have correct spelling and good grammar. If a typo occurs, I'll let it slide, it happens
- If you have low muse or anything like that then I'll accept any posts that aren't a paragraph (but do not abuse this)
- This is the late 1800's so a lot of technology we have now doesn't exist
- NO GARY SUES OR MARY SUES TRY AND BE CREATIVE PLEASE!
- I'm fine with swearing but please do censor
- You don't have to censor, hell, damn, and ass but if you feel like you have to, go ahead
- I'll accept almost every breed. However, I think dogs like Huskies or Great Pyreneeses wouldn't do well in the hot desert so try and avoid thick coated dogs or dogs that are mostly meant for the snow or colder weather
- I'm completely fine with mixed breeds but not wolf or coyote hybrids or anything of that sort. However, if the dog's breed actually has the word 'wolfdog' in the name, I'm okay with that. Example: The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog
- If all the slots for a title you want is not available, please don't ask or beg for a slot to be added because I won't add another slot
- Try and keep genders even! I don't want 30 males and 5 females!
- This is the wild west so there will be mentions of violence, blood, swearing, and alcohol. If you're not okay with those kinds of things I don't think this is the thread for you.
- I'll allow mating scenes BUT PLEASE FADE IN AND OUT!!
- Every dog has a flaw, nobody is perfect
- No dogs should have any powers or any weird colors
- I'm fine if a dog is blind or deaf but they should still be able to interact with other characters
- No power playing if you are fighting!! You can't win a fight and kill somebody with one punch!
- Do not kill or horribly injure another person's character. You may only do this if you ask them and plot it out.
- If you want your dog to be mates with another person's dog but the reject, don't beg them. Please just accept their decision.
- Blood is allowed but don't over do it
- Three strikes before you're out
- The dogs can talk but only to other dogs canines (such as wolves and coyotes) but they can't talk to humans or any other animal that are not part of the canine family
- Don't be rude to anybody in OOC nobody likes that person.
- You are allowed 4 characters MAX
- Breeds such as chihuahuas and other small dogs are alright
- Try to be a little realistic. Dogs are animals and animals can get hurt, sick, hungry, and thirsty. They aren't immortal
