Long, long ago, the mythical continent of Idelle was at peace. All the fantastic creatures that lived within its borders were happily in harmony. Each country got along, and all was well for many generations under the benevolent emperor (and sometimes empress!). But then, recently, everything changed.
When the current ruler's first child was born, it turns out they had twins. And these twins, a brother and a sister, would grow up to inevitably shatter the throne. The sister was a realist, and understood the truth that poverty and crime in certain parts of the empire were inevitable, even necessary. But the brother was her opposite, an idealist, and he believed that the not one of his people should have to experience those things, so he strove to find a way to end it. His sister believed that his belief in "ideals" would destroy everything, and her brother believed that her belief in "truth" would do the same.
When the current emperor passed, the two siblings began fighting over the throne, with catastrophic consequences. Many people in the empire had heard about this difference of "truth and ideals", and many of them realized that whichever sibling sat in the throne is how the kingdom would be run henceforth. People began picking sides, and soon war broke out between the two, a war that has already been raging for ten years!
But little did the two armies realize, there was a third party involved. Someone of great darkness, who had been manipulating both the brother and the sister from behind the scenes in order to divide them. Though no one knows one. Certain individuals from both sides have learned of this mysterious and dangerous person. And they have temporarily set their differences aside to form a third, albeit very small faction, in order to face their common enemy. But danger lurks at every corner as they must fight a war on three fronts: not just against the great evil, but also against the two sides they were once a part of.
