  • It would be considered a normal day in the village of Hollis were it not for the small crowd nearing a small cottage. The leader entered the home despite the protests of the young woman's grandmother. "(Insert name here), you have been chosen to be our village's tribute to the Dragon Prince of the mountain. We have come to prepare you for him" he explained

    Serena Siran

Ic:Serena had been enjoying herself drawing near the window. Though she stopped scarlet eyes wide as she heard her grandmother's protests. Her last living relative. She blinked looking at "w...what no...i ...can't "She said nervously her gaze going to her grandmother but she was sure there was nothing she could do.

  • "Serena...be rational. We need to protect the town from the monster and he's accepted our sacrifices in the past. It's your time now...we promise we'll make your last day very special" he assured.

  • "but...what about my grandmother who will care for her"She asked worried for her only other living relative. She asked quietly her scarlet gaze moving to her grandmother in the crowd who had been protesting about it to begin with.

  • "She will be cared for, don't worry. Now, come on...don't make these people wait in fear of us getting burned to the ground" he said taking her arm and dragging her away from her home. Her grandmother reached out to her, but was stopped by the group.

  • Serena had reached out for her grandmother in an attempt for one last sort of connection to her. She fought back the tears coming to her red eyes. When the group stopped her she wanted to complain do anything to stop them. Though she was dragged away. She tried to pull her arm free her silvery white hair falling into her face.

  • She was brought to a prep team who took her in and dressed her so she looked almost like a royal bride. "I'm sure the Dragon Prince will accept you in a heartbeat" one of her dressers explained

  • "Well I don't want this.....why exactly was I even chosen"She muttered quietly looking at the dresser breifly."why even dress me up if I'm just going to get killed"She asked remembering the stories she heard of the other tributes. It made no since to the young silvery white haired woman why she was being dress up just to die.

  • "You were chosen because...well not many here trust your family. Many believe your grandmother was a witch and you are too. On dressing you up...well don't you want to look nice for your last day on earth?" the dresser asked before leading her to a sitting room where she would say goodbye to her grandmother

  • "no I found it really ridicoulous....why would you guys think that I only take care of my grandmother she is my only living relative I'm no different then any of you"She said agitated at the rumours she had heard her whole life. She rolled her eyes and said"and why would I I'd want to look like I always had"She said quietly. Once they entered the sitting room she went to her grandmother.

  • Her grandmother went and hugged her. "They're deadset on sending you up that mountain to be dragon chow. I'm so sorry, but there's nothing they'll let me do...look how about I give you something to remember me by?" she asked

  • Serena hugged her grandmother back forcing the tears back. She was scared she would admit that."I'd love that grandmother...and I'm sorry..i wish they was some way to change their mind...but...i have no choice"she said quietly. She didn't want to die.

  • Her grandmother pulled away from the hug and removed her necklace. "This was your mother's she wanted you to have it on your wedding day, but-" she started to cry again before hugging her one last time before Serena was dragged away to her last meal and was told what to do when they went up to the dragon.

"You need to say these exact words. 'Oh Great Dragon Prince, please accept me as your tribute'" she was instructed as she ate

  • One person forced her to eat telling her that she had to be healthy when she was presented. Once her meal was done, she was dragged outside to take the long walk up the mountain

  • They climbed up the mountains until their reached the dragon's lair. Glowing bronze eyes were seen from the mouth. The group pushed Serena forward as they stepped back fearful of the beast. The dragon left the cave slowly showing his golden scales that glittered in the fading sunlight. He looked down at Serena inspecting her. "Who are you?" he asked

  • "I'm Serena Siran"She said forcing herself to stand tall and proud despite the fact that she would die soon she was sure of that. She paused hating the words she was about to say and a hint of anger in her voice but not for the dragon it was for the people of her village who wanted her sacrificed."'Oh Great Dragon Prince, please accept me as your tribute"She said and for flare she gave a small bow before standing up straight again. Her scarlet eyes held no fear at least none seen at the moment.

  • The dragon looked at her surprised that she wasn't reacting in fear like those in the past. He noted her bitter tone, but it wasn't at him. He looked her over again and was hit with her scent. The sweet scent from her blood and he smiled. There's magic in her he thought. "I accept you Serena, now come inside and see your new home. I'm surprised they dressed you up like a bride" he explained
