Alabaster looked out at the field that covered the hillside of the mountain just as the sun was setting. He noticed in the distance a large group of villiagers approuched his cave. He slowly left his cave to greet them. The leader of the group looked at the dragon trembling a bit. "O-oh Great Prince, We give you this maiden that she will appease your wrath for another year and you will spare us" he said motioning for the young woman to be brought out so Alabaster could see her.

The young woman held her chin up as though attempting to hide her fear. But her eyes, even with the icy grey they were betrayed her fear. Pale hands were curled into fists at her sides to keep them steady as she was brought forward.
-
Alabaster looked her over noticing her fear as she stood before him. "Say what you're suppose to say" the leader whispered. The pharse being 'Oh Great Prince, please accept me (insert name here) as your tribute.'
-
The woman took a breath, bowing her head to him. "Oh Great Prince, please accept me Cassiopeia Aldrin as your tribute." Her voice was soft, but it didn't shake, even with her fear.
-
Alabaster examined her looking down at her level. He straightened up to his full height and stared down at the townsfolk. "I accept" he announced as the villagers cheered before returning home as it turned to dusk. "Come enter into my home Cassiopeia" he said gesturing to the cave.
-
Cassiopeia swallowed nervously, lifting her chin again as she stepped forward. She knew her fate, and she had accepted it . She planned to die with her pride intact.
-
Alabaster started to noticed something in her scent. It was a pleasant scent coming from her blood. That being the scent of magic. It made him think as he walked behind her. "Find somewhere to rest. I need to go out to hunt for the week"
-
Cassiopeia paused, turning to look at him. "What? I... I thought..." Uncertainty clouded the iciness of her eyes. She had been prepared to die, not sleep.
-
"You thought what? That I was going to burn you alive? Is that what they tell you back in the village?" Alabaster asked
-
"Not that specifically for me. But some version of killing me, yes." Cassiopeia forced herself to keep respect in her tone, which despite how soft her voice was, it was difficult to do. Especially when just moments before she had thought she was going to be killed.
-
They'll always see me as a monster Alabaster thought as they walked through the cave. As they walked one could notice rocks seeming to glow. "Well would you rather I do that or would you rather live to see tomorrow's sunrise?"
-
Cassiopeia watched him, absently gazing around them. "That depends. Are you just delaying my death?" Cool grey eyes turned to look at him.
-
"That depends on whether or not I see you as useful. Now make yourself comfortable, I'm going to be out hunting" Alabaster informed leaving her amoung his horde of riches
-
Cassiopeia paused, watching him before looking around her. So far, she saw nothing 'comfortable' in his horse.
-
In his cave there were riches, but hidden in them was an old room with a simple cot and a hole in the cave to let in the light of the moon
-
Cassiopeia eventually found the cave, sitting carefully on the cot. The light from the cave would make her pale blonde hair shine like silver when the moon shone through.
-
Alabaster returned bringing a bundle of food placing it by the fire pit. "Cassiopeia...are you hungry?"
-
Cassiopeia came out of the small cave. "Not really... thank you though. They gave me food before they brought me up. A soft of, last meal for the sacrifice." She paused, realising how bitter that might sound.
-
"I see...Look as long as you live under my cave you will be fed. Is that understood?" Alabaster asked nearing her
-
Cassiopeia nodded slowly. "Yes." She decided against asking how long she'd be alive for. She'd rather not have that answer.
