  • Aethel sighed as there was no indication that the dragon was male nor female. She gave an apologetic smile at the snake-dragon, "Sorry" She chuckled, "I guess your too young to tell yet."

    Meanwhile, the white egg upstairs in Evengaline's room was starting to wiggle and rock and roll all over the place. Only the confinements of the nest held it in place. Before long, a huge crack opened in a circular formation before the piece of egg shell that had cracked completely flew off. The little hatchling inside really wanted out of that egg.

  • Evengaline had dozed off on the now pillowless, sheetless bed with the egg's makeshift nest cuddled in his arms. The boy awoke abruptly to the sounds of cracking and the piece of shell that flew off the egg and whacked against his chin. He hopped up and - with WAY to much enthusiasm - threw open the door to call down to Aethel while prancing in place like the pretty ballerina that he is, "It's hatching!"

    The tiny dragon snorted and looked up at the ceiling, arcing it's neck as a low sound came from upstairs. The ceiling creaked unsteadily and soon enough, Evengaline's yells echoed from upstairs. The dragon made growly noises and backed up on the table, falling completely off. It squeaked and flailed around clumsily to romp away from the creaking. The noises from upstairs obviously startled it.

  • Aethel's eyes widened, "The other egg is hatching!" She got up off the chair and started up the steps. She looked backed down at the snake-dragon, "Oh! Come on! Your friend is hatching!" She ushered the baby dragon and carefully but quickly made her way to Evengaline's room.

    The white egg rolled around in the makeshift nest, cracks and pieces of egg shell falling off swiftly. Soon enough, a little white dragon crawled out of the largest hole in the egg. The little dragon instantly flopped over onto it's belly, large and oversized wings slapping the floor as the tiny dragon had no front legs to support itself. The dragon was whiter than the purest snow and covered in ridged scales, it's pale pearlescent hide shimmering like oil. Two bright, sapphire-colored eyes stared up at the two humans as it flailed around to gain balance.

  • The little snake-dragon stood in it's spot for about a minute or so before romping after Aethel with it's slender little legs. The baby dragon waddled forward to sniff the other white hatchling, snorting confusedly when it realized the other didn't have front legs..

    Evengaline stared in awe at the two-legged dragon, "Are you a Wyvern?" He echoed to himself. He'd heard stories about Wyverns, close cousins of the proper four-legged dragons. He glanced up at Aethel and cracked a huge smile before looking down at the baby dragon with gentle eyes, "Hey there, little thing!" He cooed at it, shuffling forward to take a better look at it. Every time he tried to focus on just one of it's oily scales, it's whole hide would shimmer and he had to blink rapidly to focus on it, "Wow... Look at those scales..."

  • ((hey, so. I was wondering if you'd want to do a public dragon rider roleplay at some point? This private thread makes me want more dragon rider roleplays so bad))

    The pale hatchling hopped up clumsily, waddling towards Evengaline clumsily with big ruddy eyes. It plopped down on it's legs much like a bird would and arched it's neck to look up at him. It stretched it's neck out, the baby Wyvern would wave it's long, ridged tail much like a dog would.

    Aethel smiled, glancing down at her dragon, and then at the other two. She anticipated what would happen after Evengaline touched it, and a big, dumb grin made it's way to her face at the thought.

  • {Sure! FF needs more dragon rider roleplays. When are you planning on making it?}

    Evengaline smiled softly and reached forward to touch the dragon's shimmering scales, "They really are adorable, aren't they, Aethel?" He chuckled, glancing up at his friend.

    The gray dragon arced it's long neck to look over it's shoulder at Aethel, then forward towards the other dragon, as if sharing the anticipation of what would happened next.

  • ((I would love to make it tonight and check the replies in the morning, but I'm super busy tonight. >.<))

    The little dragon made a soft churring noise and stretched it's neck out to touch his palm with it's nose.

  • {I could make it for you, if you want?}

    Evengaline gasped soundlessly, flinching back from the Wyvern as the slight flash of stinging pain ran through his hand and up his arm, twinging sharply at his shoulder. He exhaled a heavy sigh once it subsided to a dull throb in his hand. He shivered and turned his hand over, gripping his wrist with the other hand. Right in the middle of his left palm sat the same mark Aethel had on hers.

    The snake-dragon squeaked and jumped around, waddling towards Aethel with enthusiastic squeaks and churrs.

  • ((If you could, that'd be great.))

    Aethel laughed and scooped up her baby dragon, cuddling the little hatchling's into her arms, "Ev, do you know what these marks mean?" She extended her hand to show him the mark on her own hand, which was on her right palm near her little and ring finger.

    The white Wyvern tilted it's head up at the two humans, affection clear in it's ruddy eyes.

  • {Alrighty. I'll send you the link in a bit.}

    Evengaline stared at the mark on Aethel's hand for what seemed like hours, until he grinned like an idiot and scooped his own dragon up, "We've got dragons now... We're dragon riders!" He said in an excited tone, his voice cracking and rising in pitch because of his excitement.

    The snake-dragon dragon squeaked as it was scooped up and nuzzled it's snout to Aethel's cheek, sharing her excitement.

  • Aethel smiled at her best friend with a happy gaze. Her eyes then widened, "Oh gods... What if we aren't the only ones?" She asked excitedly, "I mean, look! Think about it! We found two dragons. In one night! Imagine if there are more dragon riders out there!" She exclaimed. Outside, the sun was starting to rise, and the girl knew that she had to get home soon to care for her sick father.

    The white hatchling snuggled down into Evengaline's arms contently.

  • Evengaline's eyes lit up inquisitively, "I wonder how many of us there really are..." He stood up, absentmindedly petting his dragon hatchling's back. He looked out the window and frowned, "We should be getting home. You have your father and mother to look after, and I have to get home before my own mother wakes up." He looked at the dragons, "They'll have to stay here until we make a place for them to stay, where they won't be seen.."

    The gray dragon made a groaning noise deep in it's throat, as if it disagreed with this idea of the two fledgling dragon riders leaving them.
