  • The early morning light of greenleaf was warm, however the air wasn't blistering with the day's full heat quite yet. Fern figured mornings would be best for training for the time being, until the days shortened and cooled with the greetings of leaffall into leafbare. The calico warrior walked over to the entrance of the apprentice's den, hoping that Nettlepaw would be awake and ready to go. She didn't want to waste the pleasant morning, and her apprentice would definitely regret the extra few minutes of rest he managed to catch. She stood patiently, if the Siamese wasn't up and out soon, she'd have to wake him, and it definitely wouldn't be pleasant.

  • His body was tucked up in the circle of his nest, circulating warmth to himself as he slept. Nettle had a reputation for being a deep sleeper, but that aside, he knew what an important day it was beforehand... Unfortunately, his internal clock had just kicked in a little late. The tom groaned and stretched out as the threads of his dream started to untangle. He squeezed his sticky eyelids open and yawned. How late was it? The Siamese shifted his blue gaze towards the mouth of the apprentice's den. There, morning light was streaming through, enticing him to wake up even more.

    Blink.

Now there was a calico standing out there... who looked rather familiar.

With a jolt, his mind registered everything. He scrambled to stand up, hoping that Fernbrook hadn't seen him sleeping yet, but nearly toppled over as his legs seemed to be off somewhere in dreamland still. What a great start to training,he thought, though he couldn't help but laugh at himself on the inside. He hobbled over to the entrance, trying to lick his paw and groom his face at the same time as walking. It didn't end up helping his appearance much. But finally, Nettlepaw appeared in front of Fernbrook. He shined a glazed smile up at her and purred. "G-Good morning, Fernbrook."
