  • Sunset was nearing, but the celebration had just begun. Gold and white banners hung from every landmark and post throughout the city, along with streamers and hanging lanterns of the same color scheme. White rose petals, originally from the famous Solar City garden, were scattered across the capitol's main street, which was a wide path that started at the city's main entrance and continued all the way to the great pyramid's front doors. Along the sides of this street, members had set up game booths, miniature shops, and other fun attractions. Further down the street, there were tens of cook out stands which contained foods typical to any renaissance festival or grill events, leading right up to the bonfire. Tonight, the endless fire had reached it's maximum, white flames reaching the highest they've ever been. It perfectly lit up the capitol's walls, which were currently being prepped for the upcoming fireworks show. Many SunClanners took their places atop the great walls and the towers, setting up the pretty sky bombs that would be set off once the sun officially set. The goal was to shower fireworks over their territory so high that every clan could see them, to show off the pride that SunClan held in their celebrations. At least, that was what Sugaredpoison had in mind.

Speaking of the Commaner, he was traveling down the last steps of the Pyramid of Solis after deciding that it was time for him to join the party. On his forehead he wore the golden crown, which shined just as bright as his eyes in the setting sun. His white and dark pink patterned fur was now decorated with shimmery golden paint designs, similar to the paint he usually wore to events like these. He even used the paint as cat-like eyeliner, to bring out the glimmer in his eyes. One could almost say he looked feminine, but he didn't mind, as long as he looked hot. His red-centered optics searched the growing crowd of his clan-mates and allies for someone he'd like to socialize with. It might be a little out of character, but on nights like these, he was never tired, so he might as well use it to his advantage.

[ welcome to sunclan's fireworks festival! this main thread will be open for posting and socializing between sunclanners and allies for the whole month. below, you can find branch events, meaning that that these activities are also taking place at the same festival. one branch event will be added every week, and i'll post here with the link to let everyone know. anyway, have fun! ☼ ]

  • I'M TAKING BACK MY FREEDOM

As pissed as Marina had been when Sunclan first moved into what she had considered to be her city, she had to admit--it had paid off. Parties and festivals and friends were right up her alley, and they were all things that she had been entirely deprived of for far, far too long. She might even go so far as to say this was the happiest she had ever been. Nothing would change that, surely. Never. Sunclan, the party clan, her clan. It was amazing how everything had come together so brilliantly. The feline slipped through the festivities, vibrant eyes searching greedily for someone to entertain her. That was what festivals were all about, right? Entertainment.

  • Fairy had been fighting herself all week to if she'd go to the festival or not. As the shy little thing she was, the idea of being in the middle of festivities- a crowd- sort of made her on edge. But, after much, much inner debate, she had decided to, well, attempt to be brave and join the party. Afterall, it was cause for celebration, wasn't it? And who would she be if she wasn't there with her fellow friends and Clanmates to take part? At least, that had been her mindset going into it- but now that she was actually there, she stayed on the edge of the crowd, looking around at everything to take it all in. With the festivities in mind, she had even adorned her neck with a light purple ribbon tied in a bow; and in the knot of the bow a few flowers were tucked.

She noted Suga, with the suncrown on his head catching in the light, and Marina, too, though she didn't even know the latter, and only faintly in the former. But, to keep herself from changing her mind, she took a few steps forward to Suga. "Good evening, Commander," she greeted softly, sparing him a little smile. "All of this looks wonderful... Are you looking forward to the fireworkss?" So far, so good.

  • SARANGEREL ♥

Meanwhile, Sarangerel had been guiltily buying small samples of the festival food sold by the numerous stalls which lined the streets. She wasn't usually one to gorge, but it was so damn good. Having found one seller which was producing mountains upon mountains of takoyaki, the Goldenblood had stuck around - popping one into her mouth and then promising herself it was the last one, only to reach for another and continue the cycle. If she ate too much in one go, she'd feel ill - Saran knew this, and had faced the consequences before.

Still, she kept weaving backwards and forwards to gather odd bits and bobs before Marina caught her attention. It seemed as though the nymph was actually happy, and for once, not looking for an argument...though there was a certain mischievous look in her eye, which Sarangerel had decided was just part of her character traits.

"Hey, Marina. Try one of these." greeted the servaline as she trotted over, holding out a takoyaki with a look of slight regret on her face at the thought of letting one go.

  • The final pace forward off of the steps showed him many things. One, Marina looking as if she was about to cause some kind of trouble. It was typical, but tonight it actually had him excited to see what she had cooked up. He was just glad to see his apprentice out and about. Two, Sarangerel stuffing her face. It was adorable, at least in his opinion, that the servaline was enjoying the food with so much enthusiasm. Three, Fairylights was talking to him. He blinked, blinked again, and then - Oh shit! Fairylights was talking to him! He shook his head slightly to regain focus, and then planted his golden and red gaze onto the doe. "Hey Fair," He said simply, his three tails trashing calmly behind him, "Yeah, it's my favorite part. It's slightly dangerous yet beautiful, so I guess that's why. What about you? Do the loud noises scare you or are you one of the brave ones?"

  • I'M TAKING BACK MY FREEDOM

Marina's search for fun was interrupted by a voice and a very pleasant smell. As her blue eyes caught sight of what Sarangerel was offering her, her goals changed immediately: find more of that food. "For me?" she checked, looking extraordinarily pleased by the thought. She gratefully took a bite, a look of immense, and likely dramatized, bliss washing over her face. Yeah, she was definitely just being dramatic. But it really was tasty! Finally she swallowed and looked back up to the Goldenblood, eyes sparking impishly. "Thanks, Sara!" she purred, pegging the Goldenblood with an easy nickname since she could never seem to remember the full one correctly. Usually she just mumbled it whenever it came up. She studied Sarangerel for a moment more, before suddenly speaking up again in a cheery voice. "Man, I can't believe I had you pegged as stuck-up and prissy for a while there--I was totally wrong!" she purred nonchalantly, swishing her tail contentedly behind her. "You're pretty cool. We're all friends now," she added definitively. Well... at least she was honest. But was giving her food really all it took to become her friend? She really wasn't all that picky, was she?

  • SARANGEREL ♥

Glad she had found a fellow takoyaki lover, Sarangerel's formerly regretful expression changed into one of beaming appreciation. The servaline nodded enthusiastically, patting Marina's shoulder as though she had just raised a child.

"You're welcome, Marina. I'm really happy you like it. Now I can get more without being judged, seeing as I can insist you'll share with me." admitted the Goldenblood surreptitiously, glancing over her shoulder as if she expected someone to come and tell her off for inhaling the takoyaki.

Turning back to gaze at Marina, Sarangerel listened to what the nymph had to say in silence for a moment - right before a relieved and amused look filled her eyes.

"I didn't realise I came across that way...I'll have to work on that. But yeah, we are definitely friends." responded the sylph, shaking her head to herself with a laugh. Looking up, she noticed Suga sat beside Fairylights, and froze - had he seen her stuffing her face? That wasn't the image she wanted the Commander to have of her. Uh oh.

  • These kinds of festivals were not necessarily her forte. Jedi were supposed to be humble, so she couldn't dress up very much. It didn't matter, she didn't own anything anyway. The most dressed up she was going to get was wearing a flower crown of marigolds, a flower that somewhat represented the sun.

She had yet to make friends here, so the coyote strolled the party on her own, admiring the decor and the merchant booths.

  • Verona was not particularly fond of the social aspect that surrounded festivals and parties, though the games and activities usually proved to be worth making an appearance. Seeing as this would be a large celebration, the champagne fox had taken it upon herself to adorn her fur with various light blue and pink flowers, mainly focusing on her tail and head. She had then arrived at the festival, clinging mostly to the outskirts of the party before deciding the casually check out the merchant's booths.

She was having a pleasant time viewing the various projects and things that her clanmates made. Perhaps this would be a fun party. However, as she was daydreaming about what else might happen at this festival, she ran face first into Nmik, stumbling backward. Verona had a shocked expression on her features, mentally kicking herself for being so careless. "Oh, Nmik, I'm s-so s-sorry! I w-wasn't looking where I-I was g-going! Oh, h-how stupid o-of me!" The fox would say, apologizing profusely for her actions.

  • Nmik flinched upon making contact with the fox, turning swiftly to face her. But Verona was not a threat, just a painter. The coyote remembered meeting her earlier, she was generally nervous by her first impressions. "You're fine, dear." She giggled, flicking her tail as to wave off the event. "I must say that I adore the flowers."

  • Fairy found herself laughing softly at the question, though her hooves shuffled a little bit nervously. "I am not one of the brave ones," she answered meekly, glancing back up a little as she eyes the gold decorations that adorned the fur of Suga. "But I have never really seen fireworks.... If I am honest. I look forward to it." There was an awkward lull in conversation as she desperately fished for another conversation topic. "I, erm... Love what you did to your fur. It is... very fitting."

  • Luke was mesmerized by the city. He'd never been to SunClan before, having only spoken to Suga when the cat came to WindClan. It was beautiful, in it's own way. He had never seen anything like it, growing up in a poor family in the middle of Tatooine, then later finding his way to the village WindClan currently resided in. He couldn't help his wide eyes or parted jaws... it was just so amazing. Then there was Suga himself. Luke didn't swing that way, but he had to admit the tom did look quite beautiful in his get-up. His eyes swept around the city again, looking at the others there. It seemed he was the first WindClanner.

  • it had been awhile since rhiannon had seen fireworks. she recalled, in her youth (she'd probably been apprentice-aged at the time), when she'd briefly stayed in a barn with some of the barn cats while on her travels. the twolegs that had owned the farm had launched fireworks and they'd certainly been breathtaking. quite loud, yes, but the way that the vibrant arrays of color had brilliantly flashed across the darkness of the sky had most definitely been a beautiful sight to see.

  • Jerseyboy was the first BlizzardClanner to arrive. That was alright; he had no problem with socializing by himself. He was known to be quite the social butterfly (not to mention flirt).

His green eyes observed the grand palace that SunClan had. That looked pretty cool, he wasn't going to lie. Maybe a little flashy, but maybe it was just their style. Hm, what to do first? Jerseyboy spotted a she-cat standing by herself. Well well, he'd have to fix that.

Padding up next to RHIANNON. , the tuxedo tom would sweep his gaze around the area, as if he were admiring the decorations. Oh, Jersey and his tricks. Around women, he acted as if he were the most charming man to ever live. It was apart of that act he put on, to hide the fact that he was a total prick. He blinked and his green visionaries landed on the female next to him, and a sly smirk snaked it's way into his masculine features. "Some party, eh?" The New Jersian commented. "You from SunClan?" It wouldn't hurt to ask where she was from, right?

  • Parties weren't exactly her thing. Sure, she loved all the festivals, but she'd rather be at home, training. However, it was expected of her to come as she was a leader of a guild- alongside Sera and Robbie- so she showed up anyhow, her white fur decorated with golden hues to show her loyalty to her clan. "Greetings, Commander," The girl said, no longer harboring any feelings towards her leader. She had more important things to focus on, like her children.

"It's lovely," She would comment to him, and then saw Sera, going over to her friend. "I guess the food's good, huh?" She asked jokingly. "I'd eat, but I'm trying to lose my pregnant fat," The recent mom would comment.

  • she turned her attention towards the stranger who had begun speaking to her and shrugged. ever-so-clueless as to whenever was flirting with her, she mistook this for kindness. yes, i'm from sunclan. it is quite a party, much bigger than the sun festival that we had a few weeks ago, she replied cheerily. i don't believe i know of you. my name is rhiannon abscantus, but most call me rhi. it's a pleasure.

    JERSEYBOY

  • I'M TAKING BACK MY FREEDOM

Marina scoffed, "Who cares about being judged? They're just jealous that they're too self-conscious to eat a lot of this stuff, which is all the better since that leaves more for me... oh, and also for you." She seemed less concerned about Sarangerel getting her fair share of takoyaki than she was about herself getting enough.

At the goldenblood's next comment, the nymph only snickered. "Oh, don't worry about it! Who cares? Besides, you probably can't fix it. It's just like this vibe you give off, y'know? Like you walk into the room and my brain just goes 'ugh,' but it's all good now." Marina was incredibly terrible at reassuring others. "Now it's like a good 'ugh!' Like, 'ughhh, nice!'" she beamed. As she noticed Sarangerel's gaze shifting to Suga, her smile curled mischievously. "Scale of one to ten, just how smitten are you with him?" she purred, lazily gesturing to her mentor. "If I had to guess, I'd go with a solid sixteen."

  • Jerseyboy nodded along, his green eyes observing the SunClanner. She was a pretty thing, wasn't she? Her flower crowns only complimented her looks, an accessory that he didn't see being worn that often. "Huh, must've missed that." He hummed. If the Sun Festival occurred during Riddlersgame's attack on him, then he would've been in the medical hut for sure. He still hated that asshole for nearly killing him, but at least he only got out with a scar. An ugly scar, at that. Hey, maybe it made him look intimidating. His raised his brows as she introduced herself. Rhiannon. "Rhiannon? That's a beautiful name, dollface." While he could appear to be rather charming at times, he was generally blunt, whether talking to women or friends. "The name's Jerseyboy." Well, he was technically Jerseyboy Cipher, but never acknowledged his father. Ever. "I'm, ah, a Paladin Commander over in BlizzardClan." Well, the second Paladin Commander. That wasn't important though. Was this considered gloating? Yeah. When you got to know him, though, you saw what a huge ego he had. "So, you like it here? I gotta say, I never heard a' yous in the past, but if you SunClanners always throw parties like this, then I could get used to this alliance." They were new allies if he wasn't mistaken. He didn't pay attention to politics very much.
