Zenon, at first, seemed to have a fairly normal life, for an African Wild Dog. He had three other siblings. Aren, was the first born, and his brother. Gonza, was the third born and also his brother. They hadn't a need for the pups, so they sold them to some man. The man split them, and Zenon hasn't seen his brothers and sister since.

It was disguised as a zoo, that later was shut down for the safety of the animals, but while it was up and running, Zenon suffered terrible trauma. They often took advantage of him due to the lack of females, and since he was skinny, and has a very feminine body type, he was the closest thing to.

After a while, he was moved into a small cage, where he rarely left. They barely gave him food, or water, and the tested on him everyday. Among those tests, he was exposed to radiation, so they had to give him a gas mask, so that he wouldn't die from too much exposure. An old lion who was exposed to the same thing, got in a fight with Zenon, leaving a huge gash in the side of his face, which is mainly the reason he keeps on his mask. Zenon ended up killing him, as he was too old to fight for too long. Zenon was put in quarantine after the incident, being chained to the floor and exposed to more radiation, and more tests.

After the facility was shut down, Zenon, along with other animals in quarantine were left to die. That was until animal rescuers came, and released the animals into the wild. However, Zenon's mask and shackles were left, so he was left to roam. As a result of the terrible treatment that he had been through for the majority of his life, Zenon has PTSD. Though he has no problem with killing, he doesn't do it in fears of being chained up, once more, and being given tested on even further. Due to the lack of medical treatment, Zenon's eye has been stained green from the radiation, and the gash on his face hasn't healed, and has left a giant hole on the side of face, that reveals his teeth and gums.
