  • As the sun barely began to trek up the dim sky, a crouching silhouette of a cat could be seen sat motionless at the river's edge, peering into the rushing water with an unnerving amount of determination. Minisculely, the tomcat tensed, then in a flurry of onyx and crystal clear water, the feline had his paws in the chillingly cool shallows struggling to pin down a medium-sized, wriggling fish. Tossing it further onshore, a pink, sandpaper tongue flashed out from Eelslip's black maw as he appreciated his own catch.

    (very lazy opening, soz!!)

  • (welcome!! i'm pretty museless too right now lmao)

Eelslip was catching fish at the shore. Doestar watched him through curious eyes from her precarious perch on one of the stepping stones layed out across the river, her still, round form still taking pains not to have its shadow fall over the water but nonetheless distracted by the tomcat's sudden movement. Her amber gaze tracing his features, recalling him only in brief glimpses in the warriors' den and at patrols. As he turned, inspecting his catch, her eyes shifted to look at it as well. A good fish. No oil on its scales or stuck between its gills, oozing rainbow: the river truly was clean. She let out a soft exhale and gave the tomcat a short nod, congratulating him on his catch, expressionless but nonetheless happy for the tom, before turning back to the water.

  • Heading back to camp, a small flash of activity caught Fawncloud's eyes. The calico bounded closer, padding cautiously and then loudly as she realized it was only her clanmates: Doestar and Eelslip. Not that she knew the latter very well, but she'd seen him around. "Hi," Fawncloud meowed quite loudly as she made her way over, breaking the silence that had fallen over the group. She knew Doestar wasn't one to start a conversation, at least based on her appearnce. As Fawn realized they were fishing, she lowered her voice and continued, "nice catch!"

  • Doepaw wasn't necessarily doing anything important. She had been bored and just been wandering about looking for something to do. So when she spotted her leader, deputy and someone she was unfamiliar with she decided that was interesting enough and bounded over. "Hello!" She greeted cheerfully, beaming at all 3 of them. She was too late to realize they were fishing and had spoken quite loudly. With a sheepish smile she took a seat, all of a sudden shy from her embarrassment.

  • ooc: huge welcome + his name and art are so beautiful!!

"Impressive," grunted Elkfur in his usual cool manner, long tabby form emerging from a bit further down in the river. He had been out fishing as well, though his catches were buried downstream. The warrior had taken a moment's break to cool off with a swim and happened upon Eelslip as well as Doestar, Doepaw, and Fawncloud. It would be considered rude to not say hello, so he presumed he might as well make an appearance. While he wasn't known for his charming personality, he was always decently polite.

  • Thymepaw had yet to capture a fish. First off, being a kittypet and being put through insufferable baths from her twolegs made her a bit wary of water and second of all, the little buggers were slippery and hard to get your claws or teeth around before they were swimming off. She had yet to master the life of a RiverClanner in this way, but she was learning slowly, bit by bit. "Nice catch," she said with a wave of her tail.
