  • "Yeah, I kind of want to explore a little bit, and with them around, it's kind of impossible," Fai agreed as they entered the temple, "Why don't we sneak out tonight?" he smirked.

As they approached the front of the temple, a man came out to great them, "Welcome Avatar Fai. It's a pleasure to meet you," he turned to Fai's brother, "As well as you, Dain." he bowed. Fai bowed back, respectfully, "My names Cheung, I will be your teacher. Today, however, why don't you go get settled in your rooms. The day is almost over, anyways."

As the two were lead to their rooms, Fai winked at Dain. Fai and Dain were given separate rooms, which was weird, because the two of them always shared a room. They were together most of the time. Fai scratched his head, uncertain of how this set up would play out, but he didn't want to make a big fuss about it, so he kept quite. Once he dropped his stuff off in his room, he walked to the room next door, were Dain was, sitting on the edge of his bed while Dain settled in, "So, how about we meet outside at midnight?" Fai suggested, "Considering they're posted outside our doors, we're gonna have to sneak out the window," he pointed at the back of the small room, where the window could be seen, "I'll meet you out there and we can go explore the town nearby. I bet it's beautiful at night." Fai smiled before heading back to his room to properly place his belongings in drawers and such.

  • Dain rolled his eyes. "Dude you can just make a door between our rooms." He said pointing at the stone wall of the building. "I'm sure they wouldn't notice. Besides the Lotus can't bend....can they?" He asked tilting his head thinking. "Well I know some of them are water benders but the rest, who knows." He shrugged. "Besides. I'm sure they would just let me walk out of here, I don't bend remember?" He chided his brother.

  • "I'm pretty sure they're just random benders, though a majority of them are water, I guess." Once back in his room, he swiped his hands in a sideways motion, creating an opening between the two's rooms. "They might let you walk out, sure, but I'm not so sure about me." he sat back on his bed, "What, you afraid you'll get stuck?" he laughed.

  • "No, I just don't understand why they're guarding me, not like I can do anything." He said with a huff. "I could climb if I wanted to, but I just...this seems really really odd Fai." He said as he laid back in his bed.

  • "They're not here because they're guarding you. They're protecting us, Dain." Fai stood up. "Doesn't matter, though. Where do you wanna look first? I don't know much about what's in this town."

  • "Heck if I know." Dain said rolling over so he was on his side facing his brother. "Perhaps we just run? Get what we can around town and just break free. They assigned us this fire master, but surely there's one out there that would train you. The longer we stay under the Lotus's thumb, who knows what we're in for."

  • Hours had passed, Dain spent most of it sleeping, if they were going to be out and about he wanted to have the energy to be out and about. He sat up, and he could see the moon high in the sky out his window. He walked into his brothers room. "Fai, lets get going." He whispered. "I'll get your window opened and I want to try walking out. Can you close the door once I'm back in my room? I don't want them to suspect anything."

  • "Yeah, sure," Fai waited, letting his brother leave before quietly shutting his door. Hopping out the window in the back of the room, landed on a wide stance. Leaning against the wall, Fai patiently waited for his brother.

  • Dain headed for the door, opening it. "Hey guys!" He said grinning to the two men standing outside his door. "Going somewhere?" One asked and Dain nodded. "Yeah I was going to the bathroom." He said as he fully exited his room. "Perhaps I will walk with you." The lotus said stiffly, more-so a command then a suggestion. Dain smirked. "I don't need a sitter, I'm not a bender, so I think I'll be fine wandering around the place!" He said grinning and quickly walking down the hall before the Lotus could say anymore. He quickly headed down a side hall that lead to an outside balcony. Dain walked around the edge until he saw Fai and jumped down, landing next to his brother. "Sup!" He said grinning.

  • Fai greeted his brother with a light punch to the shoulder, "So the towns not a far walk from here. We can hit the park first. A little birdy told me that's where a lot of kids our age hang out and spar and stuff." he grinned, "I don't know much else about the town."

  • "Uh we might want to avoid getting in a spar." Dain said as he started towards the town. "We need to avoid using your bending, because you don't know how to properly Firebend and if you get too emotional and firebend people might report you and then we'd be back to square one, under lotus control." He pointed out with a huff.

  • "Stop being such a stick in the mud, Dain," Fai rolled his eyes, "I clearly have some control over it. Plus, it'll be good practice." he pointed out, "Look, name something better and more fun to do, and we'll do it. Otherwise, lets go!"

  • "How about first lets find a way to get out of this town!" Dain pleaded. He didn't want the lotus to catch on that he should of been back from the bathroom by now. Nor did he want to be taken back to the temple. Sure he was a non-bender but his brother was his ticket to seeing the world beyond the earth kingdom.

  • "Come onnnnn," Fai pleaded, "Let's just have at least a little fun before we ditch this town. We can leave afterwards, right?" he began to try and compromise as they walked the streets, "How about this: while you look for transportation out of here, I spar. You can come get me when you find something."

The streets were dimly lit along the road

(There're two way this could play out for your character to show he can bend. One, my character ends up going to the park, but the kids there aren't very welcoming, or two, there's some group of triads nearby who, since it's late at night, pick the 'easy target' that is two teenage boys. Your call, unless you can think of something else. I don't have a preference, just spit-balling)

  • //My original idea was the "avatar" gets knocked out and the brother bends for the first time in an attempt to protect/save his brother from whatever danger is around and yet he tries to keep it hidden, playing it off as the "avatar" bending he just doesn't remember cause he passed out afterwards. Whatcha think?//
