It's a cool summer night in the old industrial area of New York city. Among the rubble and abandoned buildings two humanoid beings are seen at what looks like a makeshift skate park made out of old production lines and conveyor systems.
One of the beings, an anthropomorphic lynx-point cat, was trying to figure out a trick on her skateboard while the other, an anthropomorphic bold-stripe gecko was looking through the detritus for useful objects to craft into something she needed.
A few buildings away, a heavily modified black 70's two-door coupe pulls onto the sidewalk, engine grumbling with the low whine of a supercharger before falling silent.
A figure steps out of the car into the darkness and starts sneaking towards the impromptu skate park.
???: (talks into a phone) Are you sure my bum's not going to get kicked? I'm too pretty to die.
???: Relax little buddy you'll be fine as long as they don't crave succulent human flesh.
???: Very funny Vegas. (crouches behind some rubble) Well, I see 'em. Now what?
Vegas: Do you think they'll be a problem when you meet our compadré?
???: More than likely seeing as he wanted to meet here specifically. Speaking of which, where is he?
Vegas: I haven't seen them. Keep an eye out for trouble.
???: over & out big guy.

"You're making a lot of noise, Felice." Vittoria took a sidelong glance at her newfound and reckless friend. The tone in her voice had more warning than annoyance.
Felice rumbled on the conveyor path that passed over Vittoria's head, the wheels pounding every seam in the belt. "I can't hear you over this awesome rig. Come again?" She was gone before the last words left her mouth, ducking to fit into a narrow space where conveyors overlapped, then she was away.
The striped, lavender gecko huffed. "You say that no one comes here? I find that hard to believe." Vittoria held up a chunk of rusted piping for inspection. "There was a section of pipe here last week that I *suddenly* cant find."
Her feline friend suddenly got her hearing back, replying, "You mean that one piece you told me not to take or else I'd get punched?"
"Yeah, that one."
"Cant help ya!" her broad smile was incredibly unhelpful as it led Vittoria to think she was lying. She saw Felice across the makeshift park, kick-flipping over an obstacle while doing that stupid giggle she hated, as it usually meant Felice was up to something. Vittoria took one last look at that rusty pipe before relocating Felice, and testing its weight in her hand. "Are you sure?"
"Totally sure!" Aerial 360. "Woohoo!"
"Right."
The rusty pipe was now flying at Felice, missing her right shoulder just barely.
"!!!" Felice skidded to a stop. "What the heck?!" I didn't take it! I swear!"
"I cant take the cold like I used to, I'm a fre--!" The gecko girl stopped. Felice turned around to follow her friend's gaze.
Someone had moved out from behind something where the pipe landed. Felice got ready to bolt, and Vittoria instinctively raised her fists.

The figure behind the rubble is startled by the pipe landing nearby and quietly gulps in fear when they hear the silence.
Anticipating something about to happen the figure looks around for anywhere to hide or any doors to run to for a speedy exit, however as the seconds tick by he realizes that he's quickly running out of options.

The cat crouched instinctively, using her deep blue eyes to scan the rubble. She took the skateboard into her hand, leaning over the ledge to look below.
Vittoria moved toward the hidden stranger, calling, "I saw you." The gecko mutant stopped, picking up a long piece of metal scrap. "I don't like strangers that much, but I like those who wish to hide themselves a -lot- less."
Felice's eyes locked onto the stranger. Silently, she looked back at Vittoria and pointed.

It was at that moment that the thundering sound of a large-caliber rifle sounded from outside the factory. Seeing an opportunity, the figure ran out from the rubble and towards some cover near to a door.

It was at that moment any bystander could learn what kind of person either of them were: Felice, after a hard flinch, picked up her board and removed herself from any possible danger, moving with the swiftness of someone who could see very well, and was very coordinated.
Vittoria, however, pulled up hood up then made her way toward the origin of that noise, stopping behind scrap and junk to take cover. She swapped out the metal scrap for a sturdier pipe. Her hood was up for the small chance that they didn't get a good look at her, and that they, whoever they were, may likely be human. Despite her tail giving away her non-humanness, something about the face really gets to people. That knowledge is thanks to experience.
Felice peeked out from behind a large piece of discarded sheet metal. There they were--a silhouette crouching in cover. Vittoria was close to them. She caught her eye, then began making gestures to her gecko friend about particulars. Felice held her hand a certain height off the ground, indicating height, or lowness. Then, she made a walking gesture with her fingers, before holding up the number 4. Four paces away.
Vittoria nodded. She grabbed three more pieces of scrap, tested their weight in her hands, and then tossed them to the spot where the intruder was. Hoping to lure them out, she jumped out from cover, readying that pipe to swing at any moment. Most likely at the intruder's hands--they did just hear gunshots, after all. It'd be better to knock the barrel away then to aim a their head first.
