  • The lights and decorum of the Solar City shone throughout the plains surrounding it, illuminating the now dead grass with bright, white light. Robespierre, the tiger whom was one of the members of SunClan walked the streets around the festival, watching as merchants sold their goods to the strangers from other lands. The Sun Festival was the biggest event of the year for SunClan's inhabitants. It was nearly an entire week of fun activities and new people from allied clans coming to see what their neighbors had to offer. It really was quite the show. Mulling around the small booths for anything that caught his eye -- though seriously doubting he'd ever get anything, usually only packing about the essentials -- Rob took in a whiff of the sweet air around himself, Lotta food booths, the male told himself, looking towards the stands with free refreshments and what not. It was like SunClan Christmas, here.

//yoooo, it's the SunClan festival RN and since BlizzardClan and SunClan are negotiating on becoming allies I just supposed that Pierce might be there~

Oh, this was so amazing! Pierce didn't think he had ever been to Sunclan before, but as Suga had recently come to Blizzardclan requesting to reinstate their old alliance, he had decided it would be best to try and get to know possible allies. Sweet must have called it off when Planty was leader, hadn't she? That had been quite an... interesting time, to say the least. Now, however, they had their new leader - Sugaredpoison -, and they seemed to be growing as a clan. To be perfectly honest, Pierce hoped Sunclan and Blizzardclan would develop an alliance beyond their trial one, as he had faith that the alliance would be mutual this time, and Suga seemed to be really nice.

The little vice-leader roamed among the streets with an excited smile on his lips, bright amber gaze curiously regarding each stranger and booth he saw. He was quite impressed with this setup, to say the least. It was incredible! He wished he'd heard of this festival sooner; he would've tried to set up his own booth. Maybe he could've sold paintings, or something, or offered free drawings of people. Oh well - too late now. Pierce hummed gently to himself as he sauntered along the unfamiliar territory- until he ran straight into someone.

How wonderful; as usual, Pierce had been paying no attention to his surroundings. "Oh!" the vulpine exclaimed, backing away from the large wall of white fur he had bumped into. Large, round visionaries trailed up the tom before him's body, eventually training themselves on his face. "Sorry, buddy! I'm so sorry! I- uh, didn't see you there." Great job, Pierce - you failed to notice one of the biggest guys here.

I'll have the teriyaki...no. no. the-

Rob had stopped to scrutinize the food stands he'd had his eye on for a while. The smell was just too tangible to resist. Honestly he wish he'd known what great cooks they had around SunClan before, perhaps he would have asked them to make all his meals, like a home chef, but Rob knew it wasn't very probable unless he wanted to try and lock someone in his home just for them to cook for him. Rolling his grey eyes at the thought the tiger barely noticed he was walking on a collision course -- his reflexes a bit too late to stop him from running into the red ball of fur.

    Oh!

The SunClan warrior was a bit too surprised to reply to that, simply trying to take in the situation before he managed to make a fool of himself. In his time spent trying to think of an answer Rob looked over what he'd previously thought was just a big fiery ball of fur.

A fox, Rob didn't see those too often, not even remembering the last time he had. Watching as the fox's dainty amber gaze made it's way up his figure the tiger inadvertently shivered. Though it had happened plenty of times before Rob couldn't help but remember the vermillion gaze of his brother, well, brother by blood but definitely not by definition, raking down his small, young form as he asked him to take the very blade Rob now carried at his hip and execute an innocent warrior.

Stuck in that thought Rob was soon gratefully sucked out of it by the fox's voice.

Sorry, buddy! I'm so sorry!... He has a nice voice. Ugh, what am I talking about, I know tons of people with nice voices. Doesn't mean I gotta think about them.

Wow, he was really stuck in his own head today. Perhaps it was just all the bustle around them that made him want to drown out the rest of the world with in his own thoughts. Finding himself physically aware once more the tiger sent his crimson companion a small grin, "Oh, no, it's fine. No need to apologize. Are you alri-," the SunClanner's sentence was stopped short as he let out a small cough, yet another shiver running down his spine. His scent... where do I know that from?, clearly his body's reaction to it wouldn't have been so strong unless he knew it from somewhere. Deciding that he shouldn't stand around and look like a total freak in front of the vulpes Rob finished his sentence, "Are you alright?," he questioned with a concerned gaze. Hopefully he hadn't scared the poor guy too badly, he knew he'd be scared if he ran into a being multiple times his size. Like Sauron. Ya, like Sauron.

  • The scents of food wafted to Pierce's nose, and although under normal circumstances he would have hurried straight over to the nearest booth giving away sugary foods, he was still busy being flustered over walking into this stranger. This big (and admittedly quite handsome) stranger.

Pierce wasn't usually intimidated by those larger than him, though the small crick in his neck he was receiving from attempting to make eye contact with Rob was enough to cause him to take a couple steps back. Was he going to yell at him? It hadn't happened recently, but only a few months ago many people had seemed keen to pick on Pierce, especially since he had been having some issues back then and he was easier to take advantage of - which was saying something, since he usually didn't stick up for himself against... well, anyone.

When Robespierre spoke, however, he realized that he wasn't going to be yelled at, and visibly relaxed. He could relate to getting lost in his thoughts - it happened nearly everyday. Everything was a distraction for the young man, which was part of the reason he focused his distractions on painting. When he worked on his art, it was a chance for him to allow his thoughts to roam so he could remain more focused when on duty back home.

"Are you alri-," The tiger cutting himself off worried Pierce a great deal, and his vulpine eyebrows rose slightly in concern. Had he done something wrong? A small frown appeared on his features, and he glanced down at himself, and then around them. Nothing seemed to have changed, which was the main reason he was growing alarmed, fur rising on end. Rob then finished his sentence, however, so Pierce managed to offer a little, meek smile and a nod. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry about it," he responded softly, kicking at the ground before continuing, "I'm, um- I'm Pierce, by the way. What's your name?" The scent of Sunclan was evident on the white tom's coat, so there was no need to ask where he was from.

  • Rob, once again too caught up in his thoughts to notice the fox's reaction to his sudden silence tuned in to hear his reassurances that he was alright.

    Pierce.

A new name to put to a new, somewhat appealing face. Flicking his tail to the side the SunClanner let out a small sigh, unknowing as to why he was so nervous to give his new companion his name. After all it was courtesy to give one's name after they had given their's.

Ignoring his sudden onset of nerves Rob's eyes travelled to those of Pierces, still as auburn as ever, "Robespierre Silvan-Grimes, at your service," the maned tiger declared in a low voice, dipping his head and reciting the line he gave nearly anyone he met.

Feeling a slight brush against his flank Rob snapped back into the reality that they were standing in the middle of a crowd, only getting bigger as the sweet scent grew stronger. He'd long since forgot about the curiousity of Pierce's own scent. Though he supposed they should have parted ways by then Rob was intrigued by this little fox, something he wouldn't usually admit to since it didn't happen all that often. "Say-," Rob's eyes drifted back to the awaiting vulpine, "-you want to get something to eat with me?," Rob finished, only then noting how easy it would be to turn the offer down and rather nervous that he would be turned down.

Only a stranger, no big deal if you get turned down. Not like you'll ever see him again.

But with one glance at the red entity, glowing in the lights of the Solar City, Rob knew that this wasn't just another stranger.

//i was thinkin' that maybe they could establish a bit of a relationship first and before they part Rob would notice that he was a BlizzardClanner and start havin' a huge flip-out, confusing Pierce (if he sees it, Rob'll probably just have a panicking conscience and try to push Pierce away only to come back for more)

  • //okay, sounds good to me!! pierce will probably just think he offended him or something if he even realizes anything's wrong rip

Even if he was still fairly awkward and had been antisocial as a kitten, Pierce was good at reading people, and could sense the slight nervousness coming from Rob. But why? He wasn't threatening at all - he was short and thin, and he was never anything but kind. Maybe it was something else? Was something going on that he was unaware about? Yet, once again, the white-furred stranger spoke up, seemingly back to normal and introducing himself as Robespierre. "Oh, that's a nice name," he commented softly, as he often did when meeting new people. It seemed the small vice-leader really liked names. "Is there anything... shorter I could call you? I mean- um, your name is lovely, but I don't want to, ah, mess it up when I say it." Then again, what would he call him- Robes? Those were things people wore.

Pierce shifted his weight from each paw as he looked up at Robbie, ears perked forward. He, too, was intrigued by this man, but would definitely not say anything. Not to him, at least. What was offered to him next, however, wasn't something he had expected. Something to eat? With the handsome and so-far kind Robespierre? Pierce wouldn't be able to call himself Pierce if he declined. Features lighting up, he grinned much more genuinely and said with a wag of his tail, "Sure, I'd love to!" His tone was polite, but also carried a certain eagerness. He was making a new friend! And, luckily for Rob, he needn't be concerned about being turned down today.

  • So, Pierce liked his name? Most comments made on his name were that it was a handful, or unique. Tauriel had named him well -- a proper name for a proper gentleman -- or at least that's what he thought. Seemingly having forgotten to tell his nicknames, something which usually came with introducing himself, as no-one really ever called him Robespierre -- well, except for Commander Suga -- the tiger smoothly nodded his large cranium. "Well, most call me Rob, or Robbie, but anything is fine," spoke Robespierre with a small, content grin. People had called him worse. And there had been quite a few ones he couldn't have thought of himself, like the SunClanner here who called him Pierre. Either way Rob had the habit of letting people choose what they wished to call him -- in fact he was certain Kalei's old nickname for him had been grumpypants.

    Grumpypants

Rob silently chuckled at the old nickname. He'd meet Kaleidoscope as a child, before the war and the reign of Sauron had ever happened. A leopard with what Rob remembered to have pink eyes, she was his first love. It was a childish thing, really. She was obsessed with donuts and all things sweet, hyperactive and constantly getting him to do stupid things -- or having him save her from stupid things. In fact Kaleidoscope had driven him to SunClan after his time of being a loner. It was a familiar place, though a dangerous one for a criminal such as himself.

Watching his companion's face light up with a spring of excitement Robespierre couldn't help but be reminded of her. After all, once he'd left she had made a life for herself with a lover and children. Rob was truly jealous of her fortune. But, Pierce was so much different than she was. Instead of her confident, arrogant smirk, Pierce had a bubbly, somewhat shy grin that despite being so small seemed to light up his entire being.

"Anything in particular you'd like? We went way overboard on the vendors so anything you may be craving we'll probably have," spoke the tiger with a somewhat playful smile as he begun to lead the way towards the food, crowds getting thicker as they approached. He still had that ambassador charm he'd shown in his youth, able to ramble on and on about his own clan and such with nothing more than a gracious smile -- though his once rather cute, small exterior was gone.

  • Pierce, unlike Rob, received little to no comments on his name, but it wasn't much of a surprise - he had a rather usual-sounding name, even if it wasn't incredibly common. The vulpes nodded at Rob's words, his tail wagging slowly. "Nice to meet you, Robbie!" he yipped brightly, tone light. Both Rob and Robbie were nice nicknames, in his opinion, but Robbie was a lot cuter, which made the intimidating tiger... less intimidating. It matched what Pierce had seen of his personality so far, and it rolled off his tongue much easier.

The Blizzardclan vice-leader was quite pleased to have found someone to be spending his time with. If he was going to be perfectly honest with himself, he had felt a bit lost among all the booths in Solar City. Even if everyone he passed was kind and he city was quite pretty, Pierce disliked being surrounded by people he didn't know, and it certainly showed as he glanced somewhat anxiously at those bustling by them. "Um, I like... everything! Is there anything in particular you want?" he asked, following close behind the Sunclanner. It took him quite a few extra steps to make up one of Rob's strides, but he didn't mind being a follower - then he could observe his new friend unnoticed. He was aware that, on occasion, his habit of studying new people could distract or discomfort them, but he had always tried his best to get to know people as quickly as possible, and his training with Riddlersgame had turned it into even more of a habit.

After a few silent moments where Pierce studied Robespierre's body language, he jogged forward to walk beside his new, large buddy. He kept mostly quiet for now, as he wanted to save most questions he had for when they did find something to eat, but he asked, "So- uh, how's your day been?" That was something people liked being asked, right? He hoped so; the last thing he needed to do right now was turn this situation with his new friend awkward.

  • Solar City was large, larger than any town Robespierre had ever found himself in. It was practically a beacon of light amidst the grass fields and other cities surrounding. He really wondered as to why their small population even needed such a large space, Rob was practically the only person in the medical guild and he had an entire water-filled city to himself if he so desired. He supposed that the large territory of theirs would warn off others, cities which towered over them with what most would suppose to be tons of people. Really, SunClan was at a loss in numbers. Sure, it was growing, but it certainly couldn't compare to some of the more popular clans about -- and certainly not to Rob's old BoneClan.

    BoneClan

A soft sigh escaped his maw as he thought about his first home. They'd lived on an island with a rock-built city on top. Like SunClan everyone had their own home if they so choose. But, there was much more hunting land in BoneClan with the willows that surrounded the lake and the volcanic desert beyond. Rob remembered himself getting lost in a snow storm on the bridge between the mainland and their camp, and how later that summer the lake ran red with the blood of their enemies -- enemies that Rob didn't know anything about. When Sauron had possessed his mother's body and took over control of BoneClan they were helpless to his power, his large dragon form looming over them and the fact placed in all their minds that he could kill them at any moment.

Taking a deep breath Rob cleared his thoughts as he gazed about the food stands, keeping his ears swiveled back to Pierce to be sure he hadn't lost him.

Hearing his name, or the nickname that the red fox had decided to call him by, the SunClanner turned and dipped his head once more, reciprocating his words. The roll of his name off the vulpine's tongue was somewhat funny to hear -- the cheerful tone of Pierce's voice giving the name a sort of clipped ending. Since he'd grown up the name Robbie wasn't as commonly used, as it seemed to contradict all that Rob seemed to be at first. Scar-covered, aged in battle, intimidating, an animal with filthy anti-clan origins living admits the the good guys. His name was forged in blood he could not wash out, no matter how much his family loved and cared for him they had single-handedly encouraged the deaths of so many. Robespierre, a posed and poisoned name was meant to be feared. But, as it goes, Robbie had made his home in the midst of a persona that wasn't his own. Like all clans Rob had experienced the love of friends and family, unaware of the war waging outside his walls. He could remember a fluffy cream tabby baking them cupcakes, and a little shy cub helping to make flower crowns for their allies. But, they were all gone. After realizing that his home was no longer Rob didn't have anything to protect or call home, and so, he went to SunClan, a place which his first love had called home and a place which Rob ultimately wished was his. But truly, his heart would forever be with the long forsaken clan of Bones, his mind stuck in a past where BoneClan was at it's best and it's worse.

The memories pained Rob. Though many were filled with joy there was a certain ache in his chest knowing that it would never exist again.

    Um, I like... everything!

The sudden exclamation brought Rob's attention back to lil' old Pierce.

    Does he have any nicknames?

Robespierre tilted his head as he asked himself the silent question, though Pierce would probably be thinking that he was just deciding on what they would eat. Remembering the sweet smell of teriyaki that he had been pondering on earlier the SunClanner raised his head, "How about some teriyaki?," he exclaimed over the crowds incoherent muffles. Rob had started craving it earlier that day when Commander Suga had brought to his attention the variety of asian foods he had acquired for the occasion. Really, Rob never was one for anything foreign, much preferring the plain piles of fresh kill he'd get himself. But, despite its fancy name teriyaki was just a cooked slab of meat with sauce, something which Rob wouldn't mind at all, considering this was a special occasion.

Already subconsciously heading towards the sweet smelling booth Rob let the silence dwindle on, listening in on the conversations which surrounded them. Most of them were about food. And as usual there was quite a bit of gossip, SunClan's allies taking their chance to speak to one another and have a good time -- which included catching up on all the recent events which Rob had no idea about. Really, despite being one of the big politicians in BoneClan Rob hadn't messed with clan relations in a long while, after being an ex-anticlan loner who would even want to gossip with him? Rolling his gray eyes at the few arguments he heard amongst the people filling the marketplace Rob made a note to himself to come back later so that he could be on policing duty -- not wanting the crowds to become mobs or mid-street brawls.

Stepping lightly about a couple of domestic felines Rob found himself almost tripping on a tiny lil' bypasser who seemed amused with going between his two front feet as he walked. Watching as the small feline passed, never even bothering to acknowledge him the tiger flicked his tail irritably, attempting to get rid of any negative thoughts he would be having about the rudeness of the mob.

Hearing Pierce's awkwardly phrased question Rob turned to give him a somewhat reassuring grin, unaware until just then that Pierce had switched places. Almost tripping once more, this time out of surprise, the tiger gave a small chuckle "Well, seems as though I can't stay on my feet today. Other than that, I'm doing pretty great. The party is getting a bit old but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. How about yourself? Like what ya see here in the land of the sun?," spoke Rob with a grin, trying to lighten the atmosphere and make Pierce a little bit more comfortable. Seems as though neither of them were quite used to meeting strangers on the street and then taking them about to eat.

  • //SCREAMS @ ur muse!! tried to match aaaa

If there was one thing Pierce couldn't relate to, it was having a small clan. When he first joined Blizzardclan, it had been a relatively large clan, and had only grown in numbers since he went there. It had been a relatively peaceful place when he first joined as a kitten, though things had become more and more serious and hectic - or had he just become more observant? Members had left, friends. He recalled one girl- Cielo. She had been an extraterrestrial, apparently, and crashed on Blizzardclan's island. She had been childish, yes, but sweet, and they had been good friends. She was gone now, though. How long had it been - six months? More? There had been leadership changes, too - Tama to Saltcircles, though Salt hadn't been around long, and then Saltcircles to Sweetophelia, their current leader. She had been leading for... six months now? Nearly that, at least.

Time frightened Pierce, to be frank. It was funny - he felt like he had been Sweet's vice-leader for forever now, but it had only been since February. And what about other people? There was Witchpaw, deputy in Blizzardclan, and he was already on the older-side of apprentices. Where had the time gone? He had been just a little kid not too long ago, Pierce was convinced. Did feeling this way make him... old? He didn't want to be old - he was only a little over a year old, after all. Looking up at his large friend, however, he decided he wasn't old. The man beside him wasn't old, and he was clearly at least a year older than him.

"Ooh, okay!" he agreed, wagging his tail. "What is teriyaki?" While the vulpes often studied cookbooks in hopes of becoming a better chef, he never really improved, nor did any of the information stick. He had read probably read about teriyaki in the past - possible multiple times -, but couldn't remember it. It sounded foreign compared to the types of food Pierce usually ate, which were often called simple things. For example, if it was a strawberry cake, they called it strawberry cake. Most people did, at least. Maybe all foods had special names. Well, despite that possibility, he was pretty sure teriyaki was a foreign food. To him, at least.

Whatever it was, it smelled really good. Practically skipping at his new acquaintance's side, he lifted a slender muzzle to the air to get a better smell of the food. Although the wildcat had to be careful to not trip over those surrounding them, Pierce was in more danger of panicking or being run over himself than anything else, hence the reason he was keeping as close as possible to Robbie without actually touching him. A little giggle left his maw at Rob's first words, but his smile broadened when he heard, "I'm doing pretty great." "Oh, that's good!" he responded softly, tail wiggling happily once more. "I'm doing well too! This place is really, really nice. You guys did a great job!" It was clear that Robespierre's attempt to comfort Pierce was working as he peered over the heads of those around the two of them, amber gaze fixed on the booth they were heading to.

  • Time, time was such a fickle being. Rob too felt like he had lived longer than his years. He'd grown up so fast, faster than anyone should had to. Just another way war had complicated his life.

He just wished he had known what he was getting into before deciding what he'd do with his existence. Rob could understand why both his parents sort of went after their minds after so many years of living. In fact, Rob wasn't quite sure how any of his parents exceeded 5 years of living -- perhaps it would have been best if they had died without losing their minds, for it seemed a somewhat painful way to go. Betraying everyone you once loved, or falling deep into a spirit of sadness after your son tried to kill you. They hadn't had the most honorable of deaths but they still had quite the impact on their Clans and those around them. As his parents they were his idols, showing their weaknesses to him so that he wouldn't fall to them. Showing him the way to get in their positions and showing him how to loose it all.

Hearing the little vixen's understandable assertion that he didn't know what teriyaki was Rob let out a small, endearing chuckle. "It's Asian food, basically any kind of meat you want with cooked sweet sauce," Rob explained as he got them in line for the unsurprisingly popular food stand.

Foreign foods weren't really Rob's thing (almost typed thong xD) but he couldn't really blame anyone for liking it. Just a little bit too complicated for Rob, it seemed. He just wasn't an avid fan of cooking. Sure, he created herbal concoctions; but, those were in the name of science. He couldn't help the world or SunClan if he decided to go out making teriyaki for the rest of his life, though he supposed he'd probably have a better social life if he did.

Listening to Pierce's compliments of SunClan the tiger preened a small bit, as it wasn't all that often he received them. Well, maybe he did receive quite a few compliments, but he was never great at ingesting them. To him compliments seemed like a way to tell a person that you liked them and their company, when one was confident enough to try and boost your ego.

"Thank you~ Glad your having a good time. Say, does your clan, or group, have any big events like this?," Rob asked as they stepped one more space up in the line. Thinking of it Rob wasn't even sure what clan Pierce had belonged to, if any at all. With all the smells around them of sweetened chicken and steak Rob certainly wouldn't be able to detect it now.

// sorry! it just... happened. xD. anyways rob just became SunClan's assistant deputy/head of medicine/goldenblood (wow, so many names for that). ALSO! he's getting into a plot real soon where he's gonna be tortured, locked up in SunClan's jail, and then made a slave by a flippin' vamp in colouredclan for a lil' while before he either escapes or is saved by SunClan... So he may come runnin' to Pierce for some kind of comfort/place to hide from mr.vamp oooor try to avoid him cause he'll be extra cautious once he's free... big plot stuff.

  • //lol dw, it’s great!! also,, pierce is gonna freak out if he ever finds out about that omg. he gets attached waaay too quickly lmao

Parents weren’t something Pierce knew very much about. While he planned to become a father himself one day, he didn’t really have anyone to go off of – he had been taken from his own parents at a young age, shipped off to live with humans. That had been quite a safe life, but he hadn’t really had anyone, nor was there much to do. The human children liked to pull his tail, and the only affection he really received were pets, and while they felt quite nice, it also made him feel like a lesser being of some sort. And, it seemed the humans had thought the same of him when they packed up and left him in their empty house.

It had been a painful time for him, and even if he had once thought of them as kind-of parental figures, they definitely weren’t after that. There was his former mentor, too, who was about a year older than him and had taught him most of the things he knew, both in their training while he was an apprentice and outside of it. Still, he was more of a brother, if anything, not a father.

So, Pierce would have to start from scratch if he ever had kids of his own – he’d have to trust his instincts. It was a terrifying idea, but it was true. Anyway, he didn’t need to be worrying about that right now; he had years and years ahead of him to fuss over being a dad. Plus, he'd have help. Hopefully.

The fluffy artist was visibly excited by the mention of sweet sauce. Okay, he still didn't really know what he was expecting, but it smelled good and it sounded good, so it would probably be delicious. “Ooh…” was his softly spoken response as the line moved forward. There certainly were a lot of people waiting, but the line was moving along pretty quickly. He noticed how pleased Rob seemed to be by his compliments, which caused his broad smile to return. Pierce wasn’t the best at responding to compliments either – he usually just spluttered a quick thank you, if he didn’t know the person speaking to him well.

“Say, does your clan, or group, have any big events like this?," Oh, yay, an easy question! The answer was, yes, Blizzardclan did, though not super often. They had had the masquerade, the prom (though he didn’t want to think about that), and a few others, though his brain wasn’t turning as it usually did as the fumes of the teriyaki tickled his nose and the presence beside him distracted his thoughts.

“Oh, yeah,” he finally said with a little smile. “Not very often, though. We’re a pretty big clan, and it can be a bit hard to organize stuff.” He didn’t mention their name, not yet – he found it unnecessary. Rob had undoubtedly already smelled the scent of Blizzardclan on him, right? Not that it mattered, anyway.

  • Rob already had kids. Well, he only recently discovered that one of them still existed. But, they were just a reminder to him of mistakes he'd made. Not even a litter made out of love Rob had gone out, gotten drunk to try and forget about the war that was going on -- his mother just recently found dead -- and found himself in the company of a little BloodClanner.

BloodClan hadn't participated in the war, so finding that Nada was preganant with his cubs Rob decided that it was best to keep them in BloodClan, having such a conection to himself being a cause for disaster at the time. But, also because he didn't want to face the fact that he had a problem. That drinking wasn't the solution. But, he couldn't escape the past. His daughter Georgina now made SunClan her home, and as Rob saw it she was trying to torment him with her existence. Sure, he loved her because she was his only known offspring. But, he hated what she represented. Hated that he couldn't be a better father to her when she was young and innocent. That he couldn't protect her from the outside world which had made her so hard-hearted. Hated that he didn't even know her.

Noticing the wide gap between them and the next people in line Rob quickly stepped up, forgetting his entire line of thought in the process.

So, wherever Pierce had come from had events, and was a big clan. If Rob had kept up with politics lately he probably would know which group he came from; but, he supposed it wasn't all that big of a deal. After all, if they were allies surely Pierce was alright. He seemed like a nice dude anyways, someone which Rob would want to associate himself with.

"Oh, yeah, I totally get that sentiment," spoke Rob with an exasperated roll of his grey eyes. After finding himself in his father's home, The Exiles, after his mother' she death, Rob had experienced the chaos of an ultra-large clan. Though Exiles wasn't a party kind of clan, nor a very nice one, their events were a bit too chaotic to be enjoyable. "One of my old homes was exactly the same way -- though, they weren't really party people," the maned tiger spoke, not mentioning the clan in fear of angering Pierce. No pro-clan, or really any clan, enjoyed the likes of the Exiles.

"Say, did you kn-," the SunClanner's inquiry was then cut off by a sudden, powerful pressure on his side sending him tumbling onto Pierce.

Sorry! a voice yelled in the distance as the blushing Rob began to scramble off of his companion.

  • //yo,,, any shipnames for these bois? i was thinking robespierce but idk

How confused Pierce would be if he ever found out he had children he didn't know about - that he unintentionally impregnated someone and they gave birth to his children. Shameful. He would be ashamed. Luckily, he didn't have to worry too much about that, as he harboured interest in males only (though it was possible he could meet a male who he could get pregnant), and it was highly unlikely he would just hook up with someone. Activities such as that were ones he only hoped to partake in when he loved someone, anyway. He wanted his children to be children made from love, not blind desire. Then again, his children probably wouldn't be his own, blood children - he'd likely end up adopting them. Still, he stood by them coming from love - even if he probably wouldn't create his own children, he believed kids should only be made by people in love. His own parents hadn't been in love - they had been pets of humans and forced to have him. When he finally learned this, around the age of four or five months, his heart had filled with lead. He had felt unimportant, and he didn't want others to feel the same way.

The amber-eyed Blizzardclanner kept close to Rob as the two of them continued forward, moving to stand on his toes as he continued peering at the booth. This was going to be so fun! Although eating with each other wasn't usually something friends did until they became closer, Pierce was excited - this felt right. In fact, this was a great way to get to know his new buddy. He glanced back when Rob spoke again, mentioning an old home of his though not putting a name to it. Pierce didn't notice, nor would he care if he had. Instead, he smiled, glad that he and his handsome friend had so many similarities. Had he known he came from the Exiles, he probably wouldn't care. Pierce had known those from enemy clans or clans that didn't exactly conform to morals, and he did his best not to judge them. Him of all people knew people's pasts didn't define them. For example, one could come have had a horrible upbringing and be one of the kindest people around, or they could have tender, loving upbringers and be really mean, though that one was unlikely. Still, if someone came from a place like the Exiles it didn't mean they were "bad", just like if they came from a kinder clan like Riverclan or Windclan (or even Blizzardclan) it didn't mean they were "good".

His ears perked forward even more when Robbie began asking a question, though his sentence was cut short when something invisible to Pierce caused him to fall practically on top of the small fox. It would be a lie if Pierce said his face hadn't heated up a great deal at the sudden close contact with his partner, though he too was hurrying to get out from under the tiger. Not because he disliked being so close to Rob - certainly not -, but because he had only known this guy for a short while and he could barely move. Plus, they were waiting in line for food and shouldn't be sprawled out on the ground. "Are you alright, Robbie?" he asked somewhat breathlessly once they had untangled themselves from each other.

  • //lol, i love robespierce. rob's name is a bit hard to ship... pierspierre? waaaay to many piers. :P pierpier the pier. i like the first one, robespierce. really the only one that could work w/their piers.

Still blushing, and his heart pounding in his chest, Rob nodded as he rose from their spot on the ground rather clumsily. "I-I told you I just couldn't stay on my feet," spoke the tiger with a bit of an embarrassed chuckle. 'More like you can't stay off of him.'

It had been forever since Rob had been truly interested in anyone. After Kaleidoscope had found her own life to live Rob was kind of at a loss of what to do. Sure, plenty of animals were nice enough, but they just didn't have the spark that Kalei and him had. Getting along immediately and being able to cope with each others oddities. Kalei got Rob out of his shell, and Rob kept the leopard from doing stupid things. He could only wish that the femme was here now to keep him from falling for Pierce.

It wasn't love that he was scared of, certainly not. But, the things that came with love. Trust, and being able to confide in one another. Rob couldn't trust, he'd be hurt too many times from his willingness to trust. Trusting that damned BlizzardClanner had left him with too many scars. Trusting Sauron has led to the death of too many of his loved ones. Trusting the Exilers had led his sisters to being taken. And to confide in another was a scary thing. To trust them with your secrets, to trust them to stay with you. Perhaps if Pierce found out what Rob had done he'd leave. And the tiger couldn't stand that thought. The thought of being alone because he trusted someone. The thought that someone else would know everything about him, and if they wanted to that they could use it against him.

Watching as the fox untangled himself from his legs the SunClanned stepped back, "Are you okay? Here, let me help ya," Rob spoke with an accent of worry in his voice, now holding out one of his large paws towards the vulpine. He could only hope he hadn't hurt his new companion, after all having a tiger fall on you wasn't exactly a pleasant or safe experience.

Glancing about them the SunClanner soon realized that they had draw a crowd, and had also, finally, found their place at the front of the line. "Huh, perfect timing."

  • //that's what i was thinking too, hehe just for future reference lol

A light chuckle left the small Blizzardclanner at Rob's words, fluffy tail wagging again. "Don't- don't worry about it, b-buddy," he responded brightly, though his voice shook slightly, still clearly flustered by having the large wildcat brushing against him. Pierce had been a bit clumsy at times in his old serval body, but ever since he had changed to his fox body he had been even worse than before, so he could totally relate to not being able to keep on his feet.

Pierce's love life had been quite unsuccessful so far, though he hadn't liked anyone in a while. Back when he had first joined the clans, he had quickly developed a crush on his future mentor and his current best friend. It had been bad, to say the least - especially since Riddlersgame had then gotten a girlfriend and had children with her. It had been painful at first, but at Pierce's age - he had only been six or so months old at the time -, he was far too young for Riddler. He had realized that, and that there was no such thing as a future with his friend. They were still best friends, and any interest was long forgotten.

    Then there had been Eren.

Eren had been a good friend of his too, and he had fallen for the then-child even quicker than Riddlersgame. He had been pretty, and nice, and brave. Plus, they had been the same age. In fact, he had liked Eren so much that he had decided to tell him - and been rejected. Ever since then, he had been afraid of developing crushes on people. Would the next boy tell him he only thought of him as a "good friend"? That he "appreciated the gesture"? It had felt like a smack to the face.

But now there was Robbie. And this time, he didn't even realize what he was feeling was.His stomach was fluttering, he couldn't stop smiling, and Robbie was super hot, and even nicer.

"Oh... yeah, I'm fine," he responded, feeling blood rush to his face again when Rob offered him his paw. He's just helping you up, he told himself, slowly raising a dark paw and placing it inside Robbie's. Their furs starkly contrasted each other - Rob's being pure white and the fur on Pierce's legs being black. He cocked his head as he observed his paw inside of Rob's before blinking and getting to his feet. "Thanks." The vice-leader smiled weakly, glancing back at those surrounding them. There sure were a lot of people... shaking his head, he sighed in relief at Robbie's next words, feeling the excitement of trying a new food return. Right- teriyaki. That's why they were here. "Great!" he said softly, stepping forward alongside Robbie.

    Rob took a deep breath.

    Well, that got awkward quickly.

The truth of it all was that Rob had practically been awkward at birth. A cute little fuzz-ball who couldn't fight for nothin' but had the courage of a wildebeest. Sure, he could fight now, and he had grown out of his awkwardness. But, despite his growth there would probably always be an underlying sense of awkwardness. Waiting like a snake to strike at the most unwanted of times. Or, perhaps that was just Rob's view on the subject. No matter how hard he tried he could never shake off the thought that he was in some way inferior to the rest. During the war, especially. Unable to defend himself or really even stand up for himself Rob had let his clan get harmed whilst trying to defend him. Had killed someone simply because he couldn't say no.

Nodding at the vulpine's thanks Rob let a somewhat nervous smile paint his face. It had been forever since he'd felt someone's paws on his, the last time he had probably being whilst he was healing someone else's wounds. But, this was different. The contrast between their paws was obvious, but it was the contact he was paying attention to. Tender. That wasn't something often shared between strangers.

As far as relationships went the war had kind of split his life in two. Beforehand he'd had a lovely, childish relationship with Kalei. After, he'd run from all of civilization and didn't settle for anyone. So, he wouldn't be the best one to ask for relationship advice.

Switching his gaze from Pierce to the food stand Rob let out a small laugh. He hadn't even chosen what to eat he'd been so involved with his thoughts and conversation with the handsome little fox. "You decided what to have yet?," spoke the male with a grin. Really, the menu was rather simple. Chicken, steak, pork, really most any kind of meat was on the menu -- Rob supposing that they'd be catering for all the carnivores that came around, he was even sure he caught mice on the menu. Crunchy. But no thanks. Not with teriyaki sauce. Thinking of the taste of mice on his tongue the SunClanner made an twisted face of disgust.

    Nope, no mice.

Maybe he'd just grown a bit too soft and civilized. While a loner Rob had learned to live on his own; but, he usually didn't stoop to such small things. He'd much rather try eating berries than take the effort to hunt down small mammals.

He remembered the little fire demon he'd kept around for a while. It usually ate mice, ton of which could be found throughout BoneClan's stone city. But, he eventually got rid of the little guy after he'd caught the willow forest on fire, nearly burning a quarter of it down. Now that, was a hassle. Rob hadn't owned a pet since.

  • //oh sweet!

also scREAMING BC IT'S SO GAY

Pierce could relate to being awkward. He had always been "that guy" who accidently caused a conversation to end abruptly because he said or did something wrong. It was unfortunate, especially since he adored everyone and hoped to befriend each person he met, though had issues communicating without making them or himself uncomfortable. There were exceptions to that, of course, usually with people he knew well. With Robbie, however, he hadn't even known the guy a day and already felt like he could carry a conversation without slipping up and destroying their time together.

Was this because Robbie too could be awkward? Or was it his all-around friendliness? It was impossible to decide, as even with the kindest and most awkward people, Pierce managed to turn scenes uncomfortable and weird, and it was something he despised. He was Pierce - Blizzardclan's supposed-to-be confident, laid-back vice-leader. While he most certainly was laid-back, confident might not be the best word to describe him. He was often doubting himself, wondering if others thought what he was doing was wrong. Should he be doing it differently?

Pierce's insecurities had always been his biggest issue. Was he too friendly? Too quiet, or too talkative? He was terrified of coming off as cold, but as he had learned from a few select clanmates of his in the past, being a ray of sunshine all the time was undesirable. What was he supposed to do? Where was the balance?

He felt insecure now, too, as he stood beside his comrade. Not just about his behaviour, though - about everything. Did his fur look too messy, or did he look like he had cleaned up too much for something like a festival? Was he being weird and too quiet? Or too friendly, since they had just met? These shouldn't be concerns one had when around someone that was practically a stranger, but Pierce found himself feeling the need to please Robbie. He wanted the Sunclanner's opinion on him to be a positive one, as his opinion on Rob's was.

Similarly to Rob, Pierce had yet to decide what to eat, but he also hadn't even realized they'd made it to the front of the line - he, too, had been distracted by his companion. Rob's words, however, snapped him out of his thoughts. "Huh? Oh- um, not yet. You can go first." And here was another problem of his - indecision. Chicken or steak? Or maybe pork? Having never eaten teriyaki before, he had no idea which one was best.

Leaning in a bit closer to Robbie as he squinted at the menu, he questioned softly, "What kind of meat do you like best?" Rob had had this before and he hadn't, so he thought he'd listen to the feline's opinion on the matter.

  • // oh, lord *facepalm*

they is totes gay, no denying.

    just had to

Oh, well, it seemed as though he'd have to go first. Focusing his attention of the menu momentarily the tiger quickly decided that he'd try the steak teriyaki, but only because he'd never tried it before. Teriyaki was kind of like a sweeter steak sauce, so surely it would work well with the thicker kind of meat.

Oh Helios, how he wished he had a cook. Well, really he wished he had someone to live his life for him. Running around trying to gather up joiners and oddly enough do a ton of painting, something which Rob wasn't even good at, was rather exhausting. He'd rather be holed up in a lab trying to figure out how Pierce's eyes became so amber.

    'Wait, how did that-?'

His thoughts just kept on coming back to his companion. If only he had a 'call a friend' button in his life. Cause, with such a precarious situation as he was in now -- practically having a date with a complete stranger -- Rob wasn't sure he was entirely right in his mind. He wondered what Pierce had to think of this. Though the vulpine came off as such a nice fellow, Rob shouldn't have been able to trust him so fast. Maybe Pierce was secretly a big meanie. No, no, it just didn't look right on him. That nerve-wracked, blushing, red ball of sunshine couldn't possibly be some evil overlord.

Truly, it just seemed as though red was the color of attraction. Cause clearly, Rob was interested.

But what if he isn't even gay?

Well, shiz. He hadn't thought of that until now. There were plenty of straight people in the world, and maybe Pierce was just being a nice dude taking Rob's invite for a meal. Maybe Pierce was just too nice to turn him down. Glancing quickly over to the fox Rob let a small frown onto his maw before returning to as much of a grin as he could manage. Even if Pierce wasn't interested in him, Rob would enjoy his company.

Hearing the vulpine's low whisper the tiger could barely contain his laughter.

'What a flippin' innuendo that was. Bad Rob.'

The healer mentally flicked himself on the wrist for such thoughts. Maybe Pierce was a mind reader who was just attempting to ease Rob's doubts.

"Um, I usually like the chicken. Pretty safe choice," spoke the male with a beaming grin, the previous hilarity lifting him right back up. He'd nearly ordered for the little guy, but he wasn't quite sure wether or not Pierce would like it -- and he surely didn't want to force the decision on him.

  • It would seem that, like Rob, Pierce's mind was currently occupied by many rushing thoughts, though they all continued returning to the tom beside him. Why? How did thinking of teriyaki food turn into thinking of Rob's bright white fur? How did reflecting on his duties back home make him think of the handsome grey eyes that he had been gazing into for the majority of this "platonic" dinner date? His brain would. Not. Stop. Was his subconscious trying to tell him something? If so, he was oblivious, simply believing he was having an off day of sorts. Maybe he needed more sleep.

Uncertainty had been slowly creeping through Pierce's joints the entire time, the same question echoing through his mind, over and over. "Why?" Why had Rob, a man he barely knew, offered to get food with him? Had he felt bad for Pierce when they bumped into each other? Why was Rob so nice, and why had he too become so flustered when he fell on top of Pierce? Of course he would feel bad, but Pierce could sense something else - he just couldn't decide what it was. Not yet.

There was one thing that was confirmed, though - Pierce was gay, and he was definitely already harbouring interest in Rob, so the maned tiger needn't worry himself about that. The two males' thoughts seemed to be incredibly in sync today, as the same question as Robbie's had rang out through his mind - what if Robbie was straight?

And here was another "why" question; why did he care? He would probably never see Rob again after this, and even if he did, it would likely be in passing - just at an event, or something. They might be friends, but not best friends. And even if they were best friends, Robbie not liking guys had nothing to do with that. So why did that idea make Pierce sick to his stomach? Why did it cause a small pang of fear within him?

It was because he feared yet another rejection. After all his failed loves (even if they had only been two and he had been a child, it had been torturous at the time, and he still felt himself pained over Eren), he just wanted a man to be happy with. Someone to confide in and cuddle with. Somebody he trusted. Someone he loved. Right now, however, the possibility that that man was the one beside him ordering teriyaki steak would never cross his mind. Pierce was oblivious of even his own feelings.

The vulpes had not realized how his words may have sounded until he saw the visible amusement in Robbie's gaze, the large grin on his maw- oh. He gritted his teeth, ears flattening slightly in embarrassment. This was awful! Still, he didn't say anything about it, only nodded. "Okay," he replied, shuffling his paws. "That sounds good." Had Rob actually ordered for Pierce, he probably wouldn't care - he liked being taken care of, to be perfectly honest. He just didn't like people thinking he was incapable of taking care of himself if need be.
