  • It was the night after the Autumn Festival when the Cleric had the vision, the vision of fire and destruction laying waste to the land of Vandercal; mere hours before she got the summon to travel to the Hallowed Mountain to meet the Iris Council. There she was given the task to drop off invitations to each of the 8 holds. All delivered to those of different skills and invitation to a feast held by the Iris Council. In the envelope was a letter of greetings and the sum of 5,000 coins, and a reassurance that they would get 10,000 more if they joined the feast. The 4 council members had each had two visions. Visions of the 8 persons who were now receiving these invitations. They were going to be the ones to defeat Pyris, with their combined skill they would be enough to fight the god.

Claire Mounted her horse and set off.

Dmitri of Reinstart, said the be an assassin/ninja, trained in the Louyin Temple with the Cherokee Monks, legends say that they have trained people to sneak out of crowded rooms unnoticed.

Emry of Pirefall, an archer and tracker, believed to be self-taught, she hunts with extreme accuracy and has refused to use her warrior skills for battle purposes.

Atrinity of Riversalk, a thief, born and raised by two thieves she grew up exactly like them, extremely cunning and loves to have fun on the job, she has stolen countless priceless items, her wealth in unknown.

Cassius of Sunforest, Daughter of the chief of the Silver Wolves, A tribe that has honored their ancestors and believe that their spirits can manifest into a wolf. Cassius is the only one that can actually change into a wolf. She is also a pet master, taming wild bears, tigers and lions for her tribe.

Poppy of Elletious a healer of the people, she makes potions and aids people when they are feeling sick, often expecting nothing in return. She has healed and cared for multiple people of high ranking, however, most know of the one she wasn't able to help.

Dilan of The Grounded, mechanic of the Grounded, he fixes everything he can. He is a tinker and a workaholic. He has been known to fix heavily damaged items in record time for the war effort.

Eno of the Wind Valley, his parents were killed by bandits and he lead a life of a killer hunting them down, word of his killings spread and he was now known as a gun for hire, always getting his shot,

Invitations dropped at their doors Claire made her travel back to the Hallowed Mountain, the whole trip took about 2 weeks. The date was set for the day after tomorrow, the Hallowed mountain was only about a days travel from each hold. Claire sat with her hands together, now all that was left to do was wait.

  • ~Hope it's alright, I usually don't write this much~ Will post for Dylan later.

Poppy was sitting at her desk when she received the letter.

The short, dark-haired women was scribbling down changes to a recipe, changing brewing times and the way to prepare the ingredients with Jose curled up beside her when Nalan let out a shill call from his perch. Poppy looked up, surprised at the sound as Nalan was usually quiet, especially when he was preening, which was what he was occupying himself with before, now his red eyes were focused unblinkingly on the door to her home. Sending the vulture a suspicious look, Poppy rose to her feet, stepping lightly over Jose and towards the door, and opened it quietly. Examining the front garden of her modest home, each bed laden with strong-smelling herbs and flowering plants, he gaze drifted around her, settling on a envelope sitting on a stool that she kept outside. Picking it up she examined the decorative writing. Returning to her desk she opened the envelope, blinking at the small bag of coins before discarding them to the side and reading the letter.

Poppy's mind whirled at the thought of seeing these other people. Jose blinked up at her, sensing her distress. Poppy ignored her in favor of rising to her feet and grabbing a bag, immediately beginning to pack essentials for the day's journey. Her pack's contents consisted of small vials of potions, in case of emergency; some warmer clothes; a small leather bag filled with food for herself; a rabbit carcass which both Jose and Nalan would share between themselves; and a water skin. It took Poppy just a few minutes to back everything, before she was beckoning for Nalan to perch on her shoulder and for Jose to allow her to mount, and they were off.

  • Dmitri was making his way back to his home on his mount, Knight, his bloody daggers tucked into his pocket. Just as Dmitri saw his house in the distance, the wolf howled and the ground seemed to shake beneath them. They slowed to a walk as they approached the house and Dmitri dismounted his faithful Canine and led him into the house, stopping at the door to pick up the envelope. I wonder what this is he asked himself as his rough hands fought to open the envelope. The young assassin took out the letter and began to read, his eyes narrowing as he did so. He wasn't big on gatherings or anywhere where there were many people, which is why he lived farther in the forest than the rest of the hold, so he was prepared to say no. He had to change his mind though when he realized the price they were willing to offer him. The decision was clear after that. He felt Minx climb up on his shoulder, and he petted the small ferret. "We're going on a road trip, my friend."

Emry was humming as she ran the brush along her horse's side. "You are beautiful, yes you are." She told her Gypsy Vanner, kissing the horse on the nose. The small sound behind her made her turn around to see her Red Panda approaching with an envelope dangling from his mouth. "What's this you got there Poe?" She asked him, kneeling down. She took hold of the envelope, took out the letter and read it. She loved people and didn't even hesitate. "I guess we should go pack."

  • Dilan was making adjustments to Kalek's saddle, one of his more primitive creations, but useful none the less, when Lara arrived into his 'ofice', an envelope held in her mouth rather awkwardly as she she stumbled across the room. Dilan laughed and leaned down, gratefully taking the paper and allowing the young Genet to scurry onto his shoulder. The mechanic settled onto a chair in front of a messy desk scattered with discarded schematics and plans. Opening the envelope he quickly scanned the contents, a grin spreading over his face. He turned to look at Lara on his shoulder, "Looks like we're going to the Hallowed Mountain."

  • Atrinity returned to her small camp from a day full of pitpocketing, her hands now carrying the coin purses that she had nabbed through out the day. She tossed her loot onto her bed mate, before she noticed Malyn sitting on his perch, a note held tightly in his beak. She slowly walked up to the bird, gently rubbing his head with her fingers as she took the note from the falcon. Her eyes quickly scanned the words printed on the paper, before smiling and cooing to the bird who was now perched on her extended arm. "Looks like we have a new adventure..." She purred, before quickly gathering her things and destroying all traces of her campsite and loading her supplies onto her white mare. Tying her coin purse to her belt, she jumped atop Savali and kicked the mare's sides, sending the horse dashing off towards the mountains, eager to start this journey.

Eno was startled awake by the small, orange kitten meowing loudly in his face. He rubbed his eyes as he pushed himself out of bed and headed out of the one room shack he called his home. He only noticed the letter when he heard the crumpling of paper beneath his feet. He quickly snatched it up, before turning and grabbing his guns and a small satchel of supplies. The large man grabbed the kitten and placed it's small self into his pocket before going and mounting his ebony mare, and riding quickly off towards the mountains. He didn't care for the people of this land, but he did care for the life that could be, so he was ready to do what he must to protect what he believed in.

  • ooc: would you guys mind if i turned this into a wattpad story as we roleplayed?

In the Sun Forest there was a gathering of people and a tiger roar. Cassius the pet master was trying to tame this beast for the crowd. Climbing a tree she hopped onto the back of the tiger "Whoa buddy dont be like that!" She smiled tossing a peice of meat up in the air. The tiger leaped after it and began devouring it. Cassius placed her hand on the tigers forehead. The beasts eyes became small and a purr started forming. The crowd clapped and Cassius bowed. Suddenly her pet bear ran over. Envelope in hand. "Hey, Apollo, watcha got there buddy?" she asked taking the note and reading it. Cassius smiled, the amount of money and the idea of meeting some new people excited her. She turned to the newly tamed tiger. "What do you say, buddy? Wanna go to the hallowed mountain?" She smiled petting him.

    *timeskip; day of the feast*

"They aren't coming masters, they probably just took the money and ran off with it." Claire said with her arms crossed sitting at the table full of food. "Have faith young one, they know where their destiny's lie." Arados said shaking his head running his fingers through his beard.

"Maybe she is right, we shouldve offered more." Erud sighed. "This is the fate of Vandercal, we can't just put a price on that, if they are worthy they will come, if not so be it." Arados glared.

  • Dmitri slowed his wolf as they approached the big kingdom in which held the Iris Council. He frowned at how big the place was as he preferred quieter and smaller areas. He never had met the council before and he wondered how many people would be there. Most people in his position would feel honored for being invited to such an important meeting but Dmitri was not. He didn't care that he was picked because of some stupid destiny but more that he just wanted the money and maybe kill some things on the side. At the thought, he fingered the daggers that were tucked in his boot and smiled. He would be using them again soon enough. With that thought in mind, he headed In.

Emry let down her hair as she tried to refasten in up into a pony tail. She was letting her horse lead the way as they approached the meeting place. She stopped mid way and let her hair fall, taking in the beauty of the castle. "Oh my," she said, jaw dropped. Poe crawled up onto her shoulder, fighting to keep his balance on the smaller space. Emry glanced over at the Red Panda, seeing its eyes seem to get bigger as if he too was taking in the sight. "That's where we are meeting," she told him.

  • Poppy let Jose's slow steps calm her fraying nerves, relaxing into the sway of her body from atop her back as she gazed around at the Hallowed Mountain. She distantly recalled visiting years ago when she traveled around, but the memory was blurred. Nalan was scouting ahead, leading to the meeting place as nothing more than a silhouette overhead. Poppy fiddled with the collar of her dress, hating the fact that she didn't have anything nicer to wear when meeting the Iris Council.

    ~~

Dilan had arrived fairly swiftly to the Hallowed mountain, hardly stopping for a break. He ran a hand through his mop of dark ginger curls, sweeping it from his face. He dismounted Kalek and rubbed her shoulder, resolving to groom her thoroughly afterwards for her good work. Lana was snoozing on his shoulder as he made his way towards the meeting point, Kalek trail behind nervously.

  • Atrinity had ridden throughout the night, not stopping for anything on her way to the mountain. Her only goal was to retrieve the money and run off, like she usually did when someone thought they could hire her for some sort of job. Reaching the entrance to the council, she slowed down the horse, before jumping off of it and rubbing its neck, tying her up to an old stump. The thief tied her heavy, ebony hair up with a ribbon and smoothed out her pale, gray dress. "I guess this is it..." She sighed as she headed into meet the iris council.

    ----------------------

Eno arrived later in the day, as he had stopped and fished during the night, eager to catch the large fish that only could be caught in the moonlight. He noted the few others resting their mounts, as he did with his own black mare, feeding her a turnip before checking on the sleeping kitten in his satchel.

  • Much to Claires surprise, people began to show up. She remained seated at the table with her arms crossed as the Iris Council greeted those that entered. If they agreed to help, these people were the next people that she would have to trust and depend on for Gods know how long. This quest could take years. Claire scanned over the table, there was one empty seat. Claire smirked, one didn't show

"Since you all are here I trust you got our letters delivered by miss-" Arados was cut off when the door swung open. In stepped Cassius with messy hair, dirt on her face and heavy breathing. "Whoa! Sorry I'm late, but you guys had this bear a little ways down the mountain that was blocking my path, he put up quite a fight, but I still managed to tame him." Cassius smiled. The young warrior looked over the faces that gathered around the table until her eyes rested on Poppy. Wow! Cassius quickly walked over to the empty seat next to her. She wanted to introduce herself but the council was talking. Guess what was going to have to wait.

"You all received our letter and the 5,000 gold, and as promised here is your 10,000 more," Said the grey elder. Passing out a coin purse to each of them that contained 10,000 gold.

"Now I'm sure you've all heard the rumors, the rumors of the dragons walking the earth again...we're here to confirm those rumors. It is true dragons are being revived. That's why you're all here, we've all been watching you for quite some time, you are the youngest of your kind, and also the most talented. We can feel you are all destined for great and powerful things. You are being asked to put your skills to use, defeating Pyris is the only thing that will stop the dragons, that's why you're here." He said looking to Claire then back to the others. "Now I can't promise you that you will come back...but what I can promise you is 1,000,000 gold if you do happen to make it back." He said simply. Claire quickly sat up "Master I thought we agreed to only 50,000 more!" Claire snapped.

"My dear, there is no price I wouldn't pay for the safety of Vandercal."

  • Poppy was nervously wringing her hands, uncomfortable without the comforting presence of Jose or Nalan, but she figured that having a giant bird that only ate bones sitting on her shoulder with be a bit intimidating.

The dark-haired girl jumped as the door swung open to reveal Cassius, and wow did she look like a breath of fresh air that she knew she was going to need. She offered the other a small when she sat beside her before jumping, once again as a council man started speaking. Poppy nodded a little as she received the gold, eye's widening as they were told what they were to do, her hands starting to twitch in fear. It must be dangerous if they were offering 1,000,000 coins. Her lips tightened as she resolved to help, she was a healer after all, that was her job.

Dilan was sitting back in his chair, hand folded in his lap as he watched Claire converse with the councilmen. He eyed the late one before listening to their instructions. The mechanic felt a coil of fear settle inside him as they mentioned dragons. He was a goddamn mechanic for God's sake, not a warrior! What did they expect him to do, make weapons? Probably you idiot, he scolded himself, and nodded, resolving to join.

  • Dmitri sat down at the great table, allowing Minx the ferret to sit down in front of him. He didn't even bother to ask for permission for his friend to sit on the dining area. Dmitri grabbed the coin purse greedily and immediately stuck it in his satchel as if someone was going to try to take it from him right then and there. His eyes brightened up at the mention of all the gold they were to earn, No problem he thought. This will be a peace of cake.

Emry was slowing nodding in interest as the head of the council spoke to them, describing the adventure that they were about to set on. Her eyes widened at the amount of money they were suppose to receive once they got there but she couldn't help but be a little scared. Maybe it was the way that gigantic bird was watching her but she could feel a shiver run up her spine and her hand instantly went down to pet Poe who was resting on the ground at her feet.

  • Atrinity took her seat, picking up the coin purse and weighing it in her hand before slipping it into her satchel. The pale woman gazed around the room, eyeing each person seated around the table. Her falcon has seated himself high on a chandelier; where he could easily view everything, just as he had been taught to do.

Atrinity's eyes landed on the council members, listening loosely to what they said.

    ---------------

Eno nodded to the rest of the group, then to each council member respectively. "So you just want us to slay a dragon?" He inquired, his eyebrow raised in curiosity.

    (Sorry low muse)

  • //Wow this thread is dying soory but, Jane Doe~ ??

Dylan raised an eyebrow at the bluntness of the question, turning his head to gauge the reactions of the council members. Lana's head was sitting on the table from the lap as the silver-furred creature gazed blearily around at the others in the hall.

  • Its alright she was sick for a while, :/

"You will most likely slay several dragons, however your real target is Pyris, you're going to have to fight dragons if you want to get to him. You must have faith, with your combined skill you lot can take down the worst of foes." Said one of the council members. Claire watched the others faces for any sign of doubt. They were going to have to leave in two days. The council had agreed to supply the company with as much supplies as they needed. Until they could reach one of the holds to restock.

"You may stay for two days, get acquainted with each-other and then you must leave." Said the council simply, before leaving the 8 in awkward silence

  • Acquainted? With these people? You must be joking, Dmitri laughed to himself. His gaze went to the wine cup before him and he reached it, taking the delicious drink to his lips. "Good wine." The ninja said aloud, taking another big sip, draining the cup.

Emry's eyes brightened at the thought of getting to know all of these people. Though some seemed a little frightening, the others looked as if they were kind and could become good friends with her. She was already excited for this journey to set off.
