  • AIN'T IT A FINE LIFE — Ben — BloodClan — He/him

    Gather herbs. Gather herbs.
Ben was making his way down a twoleg street, glancing back and forth at the fences around the dens. He needed horsetail, goldenrod, and some cobwebs. Cobwebs he could find anywhere, but the other two needed to grow in a natural setting. That's why he was searching twoleg backyards for them.

Ben had made sure to avoid his former neighborhood, not wanting to run into any old neighbors or his twolegs. With a small huff, his eyes landed on a house with plants everywhere. The house was barely visible. That one would do! The tom bounded over the quiet thunderpath and began to search through the colorful foliage.

  • [★] He wasn't aware that Ben was fulfilling his weekly task. Nikolaos had already completed his a few hours ago and was now already roaming through the city with a curious mindset. He wasn't sure what exactly he was looking for, perhaps acting spontaneously, but he knew he would know once he found it. It was then that he noticed Ben rummaging in a garden, the male leaping onto the fence and climbing over the roof. He placed his paws over the gutter, peering down at the bicoloured tom. Unless the male looked upwards, Nikolaos should have been well hidden considering his pelt often smelt of various plants so his scent would simply blend in with the twoleg garden. After a moment or two, he could infer the few herbs he was looking for. Or at least he used the colours that Ben seemed to be looking for as a hint, but he decided he didn't want to jump to conclusions. Observations weren't always the way they seemed after all.

"Are you looking for something in particular?"

"Oh!" Ben was surprised as a voice came from above him. He glanced around a moment before his greenish eyes finally landed on Nikolaos standing in a gutter, staring down at him. Ben took a deep breath, smiling a little.

"Sorry, you scared me. I'm looking for herbs, actually. Taboa asked me to retrieve some, and twolegs usually have all sorts in their gardens," Ben told him, flicking his tail, "What are you doing... Up there?"

  • Butters; whom had heard the conversation from up a nevrby tree in which she'd been relaxing, approached the two cautiously vs she slinked along the fence, jumping down to be on bens level. "Hello.... looking for herbs you say? hm... i suppose i could help you if you wanted..."she would murmur, her silky voice oddly detached. It was abundantly clear that the female was bothering to even appear interested, her pretty eyes dull with a lack of emotion that was really rather ommon for her.

  • He observed rather meekly, as if to be polite that the male had been startled from what seemed to be frantic or intense concentration. He could never tell the difference between the two, mostly because Nikolaos' focus was usually what helped him go through his experiments as quickly and precisely as possible. He licked his maw. Herbs, he repeated, but then frowned just a little, I already knew that. He decided it was best he didn't ask. He assumed if Benjamin was having trouble, the bicolored tom would say so and ask for help. "I've been wandering," the scientist replied, then floated his eyes onto the young fem who appeared, "Hello, Butterscotch."

Ben glanced off to the side as a female approached them. He didn't think he'd ever seen her before, but it appeared she was going to help him. Alright then. She didn't look very interested, but help was always appreciated. "Thank you... I don't need, um, too much help, but you can if you want to," He told her, offering Butters a grin. His green eyes darted briefly back up to Nik. Would be join them too?

  • The expression that Benjamin shot in his direction seemed to have a flicker of curiosity, a kind of curiosity that was contagious. His whiskers twitched. He wasn't sure if the male even wanted him to help, but he decided to speak up anyway. "Did Taboa specify what herbs she wanted? If so, what herbs? I might know a few gardens that grow them in particular," the burmese said, coming down the roof and standing on level ground. He looked straight into the feline's optics, but then quickly tore away to glance at the herbs present. "But this is a fine garden as it is."
