  • Come on smile! -
The tom was originally curled up happily beside his mother when a nightmare pulled him out of his slumber, jumping up he blinked a few times as his golden yellow eyes peeked around the room for the first time. Was this what everything looked like? Sorrel tilted his head and glanced to his sleeping littermates, ah so he was the only one who looked like him? Oh! Gazing to his mother he now understood where his oddly colored pelt came from. Blinking a few more times he sighed a bit, hopefully his jumping didn't wake anyone within the den.

  • The drowsy ginger and white queen lifted her head and peered down at her newborns, her fur plastered flat on one side of her face leaving her looking quite disheveled. Her round, bright blue eyes were soft with adoration as she gazed at her litter lovingly. "Why, good morning, Sorrelkit." She purred gently, giving him a small lick between the ears.

  • ----~ "YO!" called a certain mischievous flame-point as she stuck her head into the nursurey. Blinking rapidly to adjust her cobalt blue eyes to the darkness of the den, she continued, "Peachkit, you awake? Lets go hunt some beetle already im BORE-OH!" the she-cat paused mid-through her loud whine, her dark gaze falling upon a certain bundle of white and ginger. "Yo, check that out! The kiddo opened his eyes!" she purred, her own gaze sparkling. Though she didn't particularly care much about bratty children - unless they were Peachkit - even someone like Light could appreciate coming in in time to see a huge mile stone like this. "You must be so proud, she snickered to Tanglefoot, "the lil' guy is one step closer to seeing the horrors of this world - great day this is!" and there we go, back to the usual.

  • Come on smile! -
Sorrel purred at his mothers greeting, allowing her to lick giggling. ``Good morwing mama!`` His voice was still childish and learning. He hadn't understood most words yet leading to his odd way of speech. He looked over as his aunt entered into the Den squeaking a bit as a greeting. Sorrel flattened his ears though at what the last words slipped out. Sorrel was anxiety ridden, and this did not help him one bit. Flattening his ears to the point they pinned to his head he dug himself under his mother whining softly.

  • Torrentpath had been bringing a plump dove he caught near twolegplace to Tanglefoot, hoping that the feathers could be used to line her nest and for her kits to play, but was shoved aside when Lightningpaw had rushed into the nursery. He stood at the entrance awkwardly, not knowing if he should leave or not when Sorrelkit had just opened his eyes. The large, fluffy gray warrior crouched back, ready to leave as his blue eyes gazed down in embarrassment.

  • Upon hearing her aunt's voice, the white bundle of fur stalked into the nursery quietly, aiming to surprise Lightningpaw by leaping onto her back. Peachkit oftentimes did silly things like this for the sake of her family, but this time paused the second the attack had been executed at the sight of Sorrelkit.

Ditching her aunt, who was likely very startled at this moment in time, she purred at the sight of her denmate. "Hi, Sorrelkit! I'm Peachkit, your denmate!"

  • Sure having littermates was lovely and all, but now the nursery was crowded. He was awakened from his nap by Lightningpaw's obnoxious yelling, and tryed to cover his head to block it out. But then, it seemed like the entire camp decided to come in the nursery. The Lykoi sat up, an angry glint in his eyes. Couldn't they be quiet for once?

  • Come on smile! -
Sorrel popped his head out a bit out from under Tanglefoot. His golden gaze focused on the large white kit. ``H-Hi..`` He was pretty nervous thanks to Lightningpaw's earlier statement.

  • Ironically, Peachkit would seem huge to the newborn Sorrelkit. However, once he aged properly, he would realize she was fairly small for a cat, with slightly shorter than average legs and a plump torso. At his greeting, revealing his nervous nature, her gaze softened. Sitting down quietly, she spoke in a light tone. "Everything is kind of crazy and overwhelming, huh? I know when I first opened my eyes, I barely wanted to leave the nursery! You can take your time, no one is going to judge you." The child's kind comment was followed by a pointed look at Lightningpaw. She loved her aunt dearly, but knew she had a tendency to be a little eccentric at times.

  • The ginger green growled slightly, glaring at Lightningpaw. "Leave my kits be, or I'll send Drywind after you." She wasn't usually at all snappish, but she was feeling as protective as any queen. She then caught the scent of the fresh kill, her mouth watering. "Is that for me, Torrentpath? Bring it in, please, I'm starving!" She glanced over at Sootkit, annoyed by Lightningpaw all over again when she noticed him trying to get back to sleep after being rudely disturbed. "Are you hungry, sweetheart?"

  • Come on smile! -
Sorrel relaxed a bit at the light tone, he nodded to his cousin slightly. ``O-Okay..`` He looked up to his mother worriedly and glanced to Soot curiously tilting his head softly.

  • Now that she mentioned it, he might as well eat. His stomach growled at the thought of food. Someday he'd be hunting for both of them. "Yes." He replied, curling his claws into the nest.

  • The large gray tom jumped slighty at being noticed, but he perked up and came into the den with the dove. "I thought you might appreciate a plump bird for lunch. And you can use the feathers to line your nest!" Dropping the bird at the edge of the next, Torrentpath took a moment to observe Sorrelkit. His eyes were a bright yellow, and his specked face was a bit worried looking.

For a moment the riverborn warrior was reminded of another amber-eyed tom with splashes of orange on his white pelt, but quickly dismissed the memory and gave a smile. "Maybe your kits might even play with them!"

  • "how about it, guys?" she purred, looking down at her kits. The babies were still a bit too young to play much, but sootkit would likely love something fun to do. "Thank you." she added with a grateful nod to torrentpath. "Would you like to try some Dove, Sootkit?"

  • Already at her paws, Peachkit pitched in, "Could I play, too?" The question was directed at Sorrelkit, who seemed to be running things at the moment. She would let him decide her usefulness.

  • Torrentpath felt at ease in the nursery, and for once he wasn't a nervious wreck. "Of course! See, the feathers drift in the air and fall slowly, so they are super fun to try and catch, especially if you are competing to try and see who can catch the most!" He took a massive paw to the pile of feathers, scooped out some of them, and threw them into the air. They fell down slowly, the odd draft making them scatter throughout the den.

  • I wanna play too! He said trot to over. He had been out of the nursery exploring. It was fun to explore. He would have to know every inch of the territory if he wanted to become the best warrior ever. Maybe this game could help him sharpen his senses for hunting or fighting. He saw his sister Peachkit and gave her a grin. When Torrentpath threw the feathers, one fel right on his nose. Pan let out a sneeze before shaking it off. He was hopeless. If he couldn't fight off a feather how was he supposed to protect his clan. He sat down with a frown before leaping in the air to catch one. He got it in his mouth with a grin. I got one , I got one! Wait its stuck on my tongue it's not coming off! He said his words muffled through the feather on his tongue. He attempted to paw at it to get if off but was unsuccessful. His small orange ears pressed back as he used both paws to get it off.
