  • "My..body..feels..burning.." Hopekit groaned.

"Watch out," Nightwish warned and gave Hopekit some yarrow.

  • Hopekit vomited.

Nightwish stared at the ground. There they were--a deadly poison, nightshade.

Risingdisaster watched. "It wasn't me," she meowed truthfully.

  • Nightwish narrowed her eyes. "I don't keep nightshade in the medicine den." she meowed.

Hopekit shook her head. "I did try to chase after mom and Lunakit, but I tripped and fell. Then I saw a cat who came closer, then opened my mouth and put something in it!"

  • Hopekit, tired, fell asleep.

Nightwish walked away, muttering something incomprehensible.

  • Icykit didn't say anything, just licked the dry blood off her claws. She studied her reflection, knowing she was once the mighty Serpentine. But she had stopped, just as Leafy had said.

  • Icykit sighed. "When I was a rogue known as Serpentine, I kept thinking about my mother. I was worried..." she hesitated. "I was worried..she wouldn't make it to StarClan..I even regret killing her with Tinykit and Jetkit. Nothing will ever be the same."

Risingdisaster and Nightwish both flinched and stared at each other. They had both spoken those words before.

  • Ravenkit's ear twitch, showing he had heard, "This is different though," he said quietly, "If she doesnt come back, we'll be in a big empty nest where our mother belongs, you were a rouge, you didn't have a big nest that made you feel hollow without her..... I know you are trying to help and I thank you."

  • "You're right; it's different. You actually have parents..who..care..for you.." Icykit felt tears coming out of her eyes.

    "Hey, don't cry," Jetkit soothed.
