"My..body..feels..burning.." Hopekit groaned.
"Watch out," Nightwish warned and gave Hopekit some yarrow.
"My..body..feels..burning.." Hopekit groaned.
"Watch out," Nightwish warned and gave Hopekit some yarrow.
Ravenkit was about to protest then backed away from Hopekit.
Hopekit vomited.
Nightwish stared at the ground. There they were--a deadly poison, nightshade.
Risingdisaster watched. "It wasn't me," she meowed truthfully.
Ravenkit narrowed his eyes at Hopekit, "Did you go in the medicine cat den after momma left," he questioned.
Nightwish narrowed her eyes. "I don't keep nightshade in the medicine den." she meowed.
Hopekit shook her head. "I did try to chase after mom and Lunakit, but I tripped and fell. Then I saw a cat who came closer, then opened my mouth and put something in it!"
Ravenkit shrugged, "You never know Nightwish, I didn't mean to offend you in any way," he mewed curtly.
"I know that." Nightwish replied, kinking her tail over her back.
Ravenkit sighed and stared at the ground once more.
Hopekit, tired, fell asleep.
Nightwish walked away, muttering something incomprehensible.
Ravenkit whimpered softly, "Please let momma be okay," he murmured.
"I hope Spottedlife will be alright," Icykit mewed.
Ravenkit nodded in agreement, "She's taking so long though....."
Icykit didn't say anything, just licked the dry blood off her claws. She studied her reflection, knowing she was once the mighty Serpentine. But she had stopped, just as Leafy had said.
Ravenkit looked at Icykit, his eyes filled with worry, he sighed and looked back at his paws.
Icykit sighed. "When I was a rogue known as Serpentine, I kept thinking about my mother. I was worried..." she hesitated. "I was worried..she wouldn't make it to StarClan..I even regret killing her with Tinykit and Jetkit. Nothing will ever be the same."
Risingdisaster and Nightwish both flinched and stared at each other. They had both spoken those words before.
Ravenkit's ear twitch, showing he had heard, "This is different though," he said quietly, "If she doesnt come back, we'll be in a big empty nest where our mother belongs, you were a rouge, you didn't have a big nest that made you feel hollow without her..... I know you are trying to help and I thank you."
"D-Did Jayfeather and Hiddenpath..love us?" Icykit whispered.
Ravenkit looked at Icykit, "Well I know Hiddenpath lied to Spottedlife, his own sister, to protect Jayfeather's secret," he mewed.
"You're right; it's different. You actually have parents..who..care..for you.." Icykit felt tears coming out of her eyes.
"Hey, don't cry," Jetkit soothed.
"Your parents care," Ravenkit protested, "They care so much they kept it secret so Jayfeather wouldn't have to give you away."
