  • How could anyone hurt such a precious child?

That was the thought on Freya's mind as she stormed through BloodClan territory, absent-mindedly making a beeline for ShadowClan. The kitten she'd found, beaten and covered in trash on the side of the road, had to be the sweetest, most caring infant she'd ever met. Within moments of rescuing her, the lilac-pointed ragdoll made the decision to adopt her. It had been instantaneous, like she'd just known that was her child. Her name was Ai, as she had allowed the kit to decide. Such a beautiful name she'd chosen for herself; one her mother had clearly never been keen on giving her. It escaped her just why anyone would hurt a newborn, but she was out for blood. And Freya wouldn't stop until she got it.

Eventually, she halted at the ShadowClan border, semi-confused as to how she got there, but also hoping someone would come by. Who knew? Maybe they were aware of a queen who just lost a baby recently? They would make an excellent culprit.

    @-- Rainyskies

  • ☂----~ How could I have hurt such a precious child?

So went the unaware-to-be-quoted thought as the culprit behind Ai's unmerciful abandonment strode along the border of Shadowclan. Not a day went by that Rainyskies didn't think about that atrocity she had done. About the days before of verbal abuse and neglect she had put her baby girl through. How could one not think about it when it weighed on them like a shadow of boulders? Truly, Rainyskies had always dreamed of being a loyal warrior, of being a great friend, and an even greater mother. There was no excuse or reason that could be worthy of her actions, and while she did her best to redeem herself every day by being as kind and loving as possible to her remaining kits and clan-mates, there was no way in Hell and back that she could ever truly be forgiven -
    For killing her own child.

Perking her ears, the huge maine coon molly paused in her splashing steps against the marshy ground of Shadowclan to find a ragdoll fem waiting at the border. She narrowed her eyes, immedietly noting the scent of Bloodclan. Though they were allies, she didn't trust them. They were known for all sorts of heinous things. Of hurting anyone and everyone, betraying all.
Sometimes, during a particularly bad episode of self-pity, Rainy considered even joining the clan of cold-hearted murderers. After all, wasn't that exactly what she was-

Shaking that thought away quickly, the Shadowclanner quickly loped over to the other female. No time for those thoughts now, there was business to be carried out. You couldn't show weakness to a Bloodclanner, should you want to kiss your tail good-bye. "May I help you?" she asked, placid. She couldn't bring herself to be very welcoming, but being cold was out of the question as this was a ally. She had to compromise.

  • Luckily, ShadowClan and BloodClan were allies. If not, Freya may have felt inclined to simply pin Rainyskies to the ground and tear her apart for information. Since that was not an option, she settled for pleasantries.

"Hello. I'm Freya. Merely exploring today," she explained in a faked kind tone. Acting was a taught skill, one the ragdoll was rather good at. She would play the part of a kind BloodClanner, who only sought to make friends. Once she deduced whom the mother of that precious child was, she would use all her might and tear them to shreds.

  • ☂----~ Rain narrowed her eyes into greening-grey slits, noting with extreme discomfort the predatory look hidden in Freya's eyes. This she-cat was the poster-board child for Rainyskies's fears. "Freya?" what kind of a name was that? "Its nice to meet you, then, ma'am," she said with a polite, yet cautious dip of her head - never taking her eyes off the rag doll. It took her a moment, before she decided to play nice, too, and introduce herself as well. "My name is Rainyskies." she paused a moment, studying the malicious looking female, then finally tilted her head ever so slightly, "If you're planning on exploring Shadowclan's territory, would you like me to escort you?" she offered at last. She wanted to know what this molly was planning - what exactly was hiding behind those serpentine eyes of hers.

  • "The pleasure is all mine, darling," replied she in a honey-sweet tone, whiskers twitching faintly upon hearing the molly's name. Similar to Rainyskies, she couldn't comprehend the absurd thinking behind clan names. Not voicing these thoughts, however, she instead focused on the question directed at her. "I appreciate the offer, but I believe I have been misunderstood. I was merely exploring my own territory and happened upon ShadowClan. I muse admit, though, I am rather curious, given we are allies." A faint purr rose in her throat, a smile caressing her lilac features. Her blue eyes, typically hard like ice, were melted into calm pools of water, suggesting she was kind an approachable. This was a ruse, of course, but one that would not be depicted easily.

  • ☂----~ Aaah, nice one Rainy - way to just invite a potentially murderous cat right into your home! The huge maine coon sighed slightly, disappointed in herself. Deciding whats done was done, she looked back up at Freya. "Why not? I cant take you near my camp - protocol and all that - but I suppose it'd be fine to show you a few land-marks," she said, honest, as she began to think of some places to show this molly. All the while, she studied her, curious as to what exactly she was 'exploring'. Why would one be traveling by the border to explore? I mean, shouldn't bloodclanners - at least as old as she - already know the land that divided them from their neighbors like the back of their paws by now? Considering, at least, how many times they had stolen from Shadowclan's territory in the past...
Shaking her head clear of those bitter thoughts, the older molly regained her composure, "would that be alright?" she finally asked, in regards to her offer. She paused, then added with a small smile, "We could get to know each other better in the meantime, perhaps?"

  • Rainyskies wouldn't be conscious of the fact Freya had only been a member of BloodClan for a good moon. That was okay; she didn't need to know everything about her. Swiveling an ear in her direction, she agreed, "Yes, that sounds lovely. I think I would like that very much." 'Potentially' murderous was not an accurate description of the ragdoll. 'Deadly' and 'sociopathic' were a bit closer to her personality. At least, in relation to those not a member of her clan. To her Clanmates, she was good-natured and friendly, someone easy to befriend with a sarcastic sense of humor. Again, though, Rainy would have no knowledge of this. All she would be able to deduce is that the BloodClan cat who may or may not have killed in the past was being welcomed onto her territory for no other reason than neighborly friendliness.

As she stepped over the border, the younger but notably larger cat sighed lightly, taking in the marsh air. "You know, the marsh always did feel a little odd to me. I've grown up on the hard streets of the Twolegplace my whole life," she chuckled, casually slipping in a bit of information regarding herself in an attempt to ease the air, perhaps even compel Rainyskies to converse freely as well.
