If there was one thing Honeypaw had learned over the past moon or so, it would be that warriors didn’t take kindly to backtalk. Now he knew that already, but nobody had really punished him for it until recently. This was why the golden-furred apprentice was currently sitting in the elders den picking ticks off the NPCs, and it was also why he had to do so for the next two days after this. But to be honest, he was rather enjoying his time with the elders. Although they were a bit crotchety and condescending, they were full of so many stories, and he enjoyed listening to everyone of them. It was in the middle of one of these stories when he stopped getting rid of ticks entirely, instead focusing all of his attention onto the speaking elders.

  • Seaheart had decided to watch the young apprentice to see if he was doing a good job. "Make sure you get behind the ears too, and the tails. Ticks usually fest around those areas." She said, flicking her ear slightly. "You don't need me to call you back to make you do a better job."

  • ・゚✧ and the sun will shine again!
He nearly spilled the bile upon hearing Seaheart's voice, casting a cool glare in the warrior's direction before starting to work behind the ears. His annoyance was his downfall though, and he was met with a cuff to the ear when some of the vile substance dribbled into one of the elder's eyes. It took a couple of minutes for him to soak some moss and flush out the fluid, a mixture of anger and shame bubbling around him. This was all Seaheart's fault. He had been doing quite well until she had arrived, no matter what the molly said or thought. "I don't give a mouse tail about how thorough I am." He grumbled. "The other apprentices will eventually finish the job."

  • wolfstream glanced at the young tom, and flicked her ears in response of his words. she remebered the way it felt when she was punished for sneaking out of camp and running off for a spell when she was an apprentice. now however, she almosr felt bad for honeypaw. as she distributed some prey to the npc elders, she stood beside honeypaw, a question or rather statement forming on her tounge. "if you do a good job, i can take you out hunting or out for some battle training if you'd like?" she mused as she watched him work.

Although he wasn't a big fan of hunting or training, the idea of getting practice with a warrior peaked his interest. His mentor, or should he say former mentor hadn't liked him all that much for reasons for obvious reasons, and Honey had gladly returned the feelings. After all, the warrior had been nothing but harsh and unforgiving to him, so why should he been any different to them? Wolfstream on the other hand was a fairly nice person to be around, and there were times when he thought they were alike. Surely doing something with her couldn't be too bad, right? "Really?" He questioned. If he had eyebrows they would be raised, more out of surprise than anything else. "I uh, I would really like that. Maybe we could go fishing or something?"

  • "You should." Seaheart mused. Looking more and more upset towards the young tom. "Everytime I see you, you more and more disrespect. Why is that? Do you just have a problem with everyone? Look, Honeypaw. Doing a though job means that you are maturing. Your becoming a man and taking responsibility. You want to be a warrior yes? Then act like one and take pride in your work."

Looking away from Wolfstream, he could feel his ear tips growing hot at Seaheart's words. He wouldn't admit that what she was saying was true, instead turning away to hide the tears stinging his eyes. "Who says I want to be a warrior?" Although his voice was beginning to tremble, he refused to break down, instead turning around so he was mere inches away from the other. "I don't mean to act like such a dungface all the time, but has it ever occurred to you that I'm sick and tired of people judging me? I try so, so hard to impress everyone, yet nobody ever seems to notice. I've never truly been proud of myself, and at this pace I never will."

    [geesh, look at this drama-queen]

  • Ambersplash had just came into camp when he overheard the conversation at the elders den. "Hey, you're a Riverclan apprentice! That's already something to be proud of." Putting the fish down at the fresh kill pile, the mostly white warrior quickly made his way to the elders den. "Look, every one of us warriors have done this as apprentices. Some of us had to as warriors."

Flicking his amber tail, the tall warrior nudged Seaheart. "Come on, has there ever been an apprentice with additude here?"

  • Fawncloud was sitting in the elder's den, chatting with a few of her friends. The she-cat still had awhile until she moved there permanently, but she liked keeping others company. When she heard a commotion start on the other side, the white warrior slowly lifted herself up and padded closer. When she heard an apprentice mouthing off some warriors (or at least that was what it seemed like to her), Fawncloud huffed.

Sometimes it was better to stay quiet and do one's job that stick up. Only sometimes, but Fawncloud thought this one was instance where that applied. She sniffed, glancing at Honeypaw. "Like Ambersplash said, we've all done this before. And it's no job to do a lousily either- these elders are your clanmates, your family. Sometimes you just have to do your job, whether you like it or not."

  • the female had been just about to reply to the apprentice, when the others interrupted her. "of course i will. i need an excuse to leave camp anyways. and y'all i'm sure felt the same as honeypaw. let him have some space to calm down. he is allowed to think and feel how he wants, as you have the right to the same." wolfstream responded, siding with honeypaw. why, she didn't know. she felt like they were alike in a way, but wanted to know the tom more. hopefully he eould accept her help and be willing to go out and fish still.
