Jonathan was listening to his music walking into the halls of John Muir High School somewhat dreading the school. He was a nerd and therefore on the bottom of the social hierarchy of high school. He wasn't entirely ready to face the social part of school, but his best friend was there and so was the most beautiful young woman in school (he's bi). He moved to the beat of his music and knocked on the open locker door of his best friend. "Hey buddy, we still on for zombie slaying Saturday?" he asked

Tess jolted a bit at the sudden slam of something hitting his locker and quickly whipped his head to the side to spy his closest friend and zombie slaying buddy, Jonathan. The male nodded, moving to push a pair of thin framed glasses up the bridge of his nose and waved a hand to the male. "Of course, Jon! Don't die this time, okay?" He teased stepping back with a pair of books wedged between his chest and his right forearm and closed the locker with a light slam. His eyes wondered slowly across Jonathan's face but he tried to play it off as looking past him then turned, "Should I bring snacks?"
-
Jonathan chuckled at little at Tess's comment. "Of course I won't Tessy. I'm not going to leave my best zombie slaying buddy to be left to fend for himself" he said ruffling his hair playfully. They walked down the hall towards their first period together when she walked by. Rosina Affini. The girl that had stolen Jonathan's heart back in third grade. She was signing up to be running for homecoming queen. Jonathan couldn't help, but stare and let out a little sigh.
-
A bitter feeling raced through Tess as he watched the female walk past and the loving look cross through Jonathan's eyes. He frowned bitterly but seeing his friend so love stricken and happy made the male both queasy and happy. With a sigh he scratched his head and gave himself a light nod, "So... Have you talked to her yet?" He figured he may as well draw this out with the hopes that he'd chicken out.
-
Jonathan kept his gaze until he was snapped out by Tess's question. "Wha-no. Are you kidding? If I try to talk to her, she wouldn't notice I was even there. Compared to that shining beacon of beauty, I might as well have an invisibility cloak on. Wish I could actually work up the nerve to talk to her" he sighed before continuing walking towards their first class. Homeroom, where not much happened say for announcements.
-
Tess sighed and looked at his shoes before quickly following after Jonathan. "Wait! Jon!" He calls his right hand shooting out to grasp at his friend's shirt sleeve. "I-er... There might be a way for you to talk to her." He began, trying to ignore the electricity that traveled from where his hand clasped onto Jonathan to his shoulder. He fumbled with his words once more before forcing out, "There's this thing- this Squip, that you can get. It'll make you cool and then maybe you can talk to her?"
-
Jonathan stopped his his tracks once Tess grabbed onto his shoulder. He listened as he explained about something that would help him to talk to Rosina. "Squip? I've never heard of it before. Is it like a pill or something? But, if you're sure that it'll work then I'll try it. Look how about we do this on Saturday on game night" he suggested
-
Tess nodded his head slowly as he removed his hand and gestured his hand in a warning fashion, "It's a pill. I'll see you Saturday, but think this through, okay?" He murmured slowly turning to head to his own class as sadness began to well up within him. He slowly began to saunter away, sadness continue to encroach upon his day.
-
"I promise I'll think this through. Look I'll see you at lunch and we'll figure it out further, sound good?" Jonathan called out before they went their separate ways to classes
-
As lunch began to roll around, Tess had began to feel queasy and unsettled by the thought of his friend using the Squib. He felt his stomach churn as he leaned his head down to rest on he table and gave a sigh. He would wait like that for Jonathan to appear then finally explain more about the Squib.
//low muse -
Jonathan spotted Tess face down on their usual table and made his way over passing by Rosina and accidentally crashing into a cheerleader and causing her lunch to cover both of them. He ran away from that situation and sat across from Tess. "So Tessy, how did you even know about this Squip thing?" he asked
-
Tess jerked his head up, noting the food stains on the other male's shirt and the angry screeching of a cheerleader from nearby. He sighed, giving the other male a cross look but spoke nevertheless, "I read about it somewhere... It's suppose to do amazing things, so I suppose we can get one for you. Haven't you heard anyone talking about it?" Tess tilted his head slightly like a befuddled dog and stared at his friend with worried hazel eyes. "I'm sure there's side affects, so think about this..."
-
"You said it could get me Rosina, right? If we can get it then I want it. I'm sure the side effects are worth it" Jonathan reassured. He noticed the worry in his best friend's eyes and reached over to grab his hand to squeeze. "I think I might of heard of it"
-
The male tried to push away a blush that attempted to flood his cheeks and coughed to clear hiss throat. "A-Alright... I think I know where to get one. Since you seem so certain, perhaps we can meet on Saturday and you can try it?" The male said as he moved his other hand to clasp the top of Jonathan's as he beamed him a wide yet flustered smile.
-
"If you can get it, then yeah. We'll meet up for zombie slaying and then I'll try the squip. Also don't forget to bring the mountain dew" Jonathan reminded since that was the drink they always had on game nights
-
Tess laughed with a wave of his hand, "Of course! How could we
youever survive with out mountain dew!" He scoffed as he looked to Jonathan with a joking wiggle of his first finger. "Prepare to kill some zombies bud!"
// Should we timeskip to Saturday soon? -
Ooc: yeah
Ic: Jonathan had his basement set up for game night. He looked around seeing the game was booting up and everything was ready to go. All I need now is Tess with the Mountain Dew and with the Squip he thought just as there was a knocking on the door -
Tess stood at the door, left hand poised after knocking with mountain dew stuffed into a Walmart bag and the squip pill hidden within his back pocket. He shifted the weighty objects around in his arms as he waited for Jonathan to open the door.
-
Jonathan opened the door and smiled seeing Tess there. "Tessy, good to see you. Okay, so first we need to finish level nine of Apocalypse of the Damned and then I'll take the Squip"
-
Tess nodded his head, "Sounds good!" He cheered though he felt rather uneasy. The male made his way inside, following after Jonathan and taking a seat in his usual gaming spot, leaning against the side of the couch. The male then beamed up a another smile, discarding the heavy soda/pop and tittering, "Ready when you are!"
