  • Lily slung the bag over her back and grabbed the buckets, giving a cheerful smile. "Hope you have an okay night.....see you tomorow" she gave a small tilt of her head instead of waving her hand since her hands were full before leaving the cave and headed home. Being careful no one saw her as she returned the bag to her room and dumped the dirty water in the forest.

  • *he tilted his head as he watched her leave, once again closing his eyes as his wings folded in, sitting in the centre of the cave as he thought about what tomorrow would bring...

  • Lily continued to visit him every day in the last few day's. Bringing new things with her every time, as well as books containing information of the time he was chained up for. So that he would understand the current ways, like currency, common sense and such. She would also bring works of fiction of fairies, beast man and more. She was rather enjoying it, having prepared one of her favorite books for today. She was also rather dressed up, wearing a flower crown on her head and a easy to move in dress for dancing. Only wearing them for the festival that night, not planning to bring it up with him. She still enjoyed the festival and looked forward to it because it was just fun, having no care for the reason it was held.

"Hey! How you doing today?" she called into the cave after only walking a few steps inside. Soon appearing at the end while carrying a large book and a basket with food and a small thing containing water.

  • "Ah...you can tell?" she gave a small laugh as she walked over and took a seat beside him. She placed the book on her lap while the basket was put down beside her. " Well, I am rather joyful today I suppose. Oh, I brought one of my favorite's today!" It was a big book with multiple different stories, it was also rather old looking.

  • "So what is the joyous occasion?" He began, then noticed the large book she held "And I see you've brought another book as well" a smile formed on his face, he had been interested in all the books that she had been bringing in recently and pointing out which bits were true, which were exaggerated, etc.

  • "Oh, just the big thing the village is holding tonight." she said simply as she flipped through the pages of the book, wondering what to read to him first. The words on the cover were worn out, unreadable with a few odd characters. "Yep! I've had this book since I was rather young, I probably know all the stories by heart by now, but its always fun to read them again with the book in my hands"

  • *he nods "I know that feeling... a book which you enjoy so much to the point where the writing is illegible because of how often the pages have been turned" a small smile formed on his face

  • "Ah, so we have something in common when it comes to books huh" Lily said with a smile as she decided on a story. Doing as she usually did of giving him something to drink and eat now and then while getting onto the story. This story was a simple adventure story of someone searching for a certain object. It was a rather long one which took most of the time to read that day before moving onto the next one.

  • *He listened intently, head tilted slightly as he listened to her tell the stories. This story about a adventurer going for a specific item... It reminded him so much of his favourite story from when he was younger, the 'sword in the stone'...

  • As she finished the second story, about a royal getting betrayed an cast away from the kingdom, the royal swearing revenge on those who betrayed them, she shut the book. Giving out a small yawn as she stretched her arms, reading was always rather calming so she had relaxed enough to get a bit tired though washed it away with a munch on a few berries. " Well those will be it for today, gonna be leaving earlier today then I usually do after all"

  • *he nods, "I understand. Please, have a safe journey" the smallest of frowns appeared on his face "I've been feeling a disturbance recently... I can not tell you where however, for the barrier limits my ability greatly"

  • "A disturbance? Is it something dangerous?" Was it something near by she wondered. She wasn't sure if it would be something for her to worry about. " Well, whatever it is it can't be anything to big right?" She had no idea what type of disturbance it could be, then again she was also unaware of the village's that had been raided recently, village to far out to get word.

  • "Ah, true. Kinda like them miskitos that carry around those deadly dioceses. " She stood up while picking up her book and basket. " Okay, I'll be sure to be careful." She told him with a bright smile. No matter how cautious or prepared she could have been, it wouldn't have done much to stop the bandits approach to the village.

(Time skip to a bit later that night)

The festival was in full boom, music, lights and the scent of different food floating in the air. Lily was dancing with some of the village children, hopping up and down and spinning around the large fire. The village was full of laughter and joy, even the elders were sitting out watching the younger ones have fun. Though the event to a U turn when the first arrow coated in bright flames flew by and hit the top of hut.

The rest seemed like a blur, the music getting cut short as mothers grabbed their children and ran while the men tried to hold the bandits off. Lily wasn't sure where any of her family was or her friend Teri. It was rather loud with the sound of voices and horse hoofs.

The village was soon surrounded and she was at a loss of what to do, then her eyes widened as an idea hit. But she needed to figure a way out, so she threw her shoes, she had placed off to the side while dancing, at one of the bandits horses. The horse freaked out and left an opening which she quickly got through. A arrow wizes by her, but thankfully missed only grazing her arm.

She then ran as fast as she could into the forest, ignoring the burning at her eyes. She was afraid, afraid of losing her village and those in it. This was probably the first time she had ever been so scared, and seen such terrifying people. Laughing as she recalled seeing them decapitate a man. She would rather not think back to it, it made her want to vomit.

It was dark, so she could barely tell where she was going, having to use her familiar memory of the path she took often. But that did not stop her from tripping over a fallen over tree and gaining a few scrapes of her knees, hands, arms ad elbows. Her dress was dirty and torn from the fall, but the flower crown remained, though now tangled into her hair.

When she saw the opening of the cave she was quick to go towards it, feeling out of breath as she headed inside. She needed to touch the side of the wall for guidance since it was even darker at night at the front of the cave.

  • *Zero's eyes snapped awake and he got up from where he laid on the ground, wings spread out to make himself appear larger to try and scared whoever or whatever it was that entered. However, as his eyes adjusted to the darkness, he saw who it was- "Lily?"

  • Lily continued feeling along the walls, stepping into the rather dull light when she heard his voice. "Z-Zero" she couldn't hold back all the emotions rising from the shock and fear from her under attack village. She walked over, sniffling well tears poured down from her eyes, dripping off her chin and hit her clothing. "My....village..." her voice trembled before she began sobbing and fell to her knees. She brought her hands to her face, covering her eyes as she tried to stop her crying but to no advail. Meanwhile it began to storm outside the cave, though the rain did nothing to calm down the raging fires in her village. "Its getting raided by bandits" she managed to get out.

  • "No..." He closed his eyes "Bandits..." He begins tearing at his chains, although again to no avail "Damn it all... I would do anything I could, if I could leave thi stupid cave...!"
