  • The Rift was his third stop of the day. Ace forced himself to stay upright as he made his way towards the Clan's border, taking in a deep breath once he reach it and sat down. "Ace Lannister from Westeros," Ace breathed out. "I've got some news."

  • For a while they'd heard nothing from Westeros aside from maybe the occasional visit. Then when Jaeharys (Pyre was pretty she she was spelling that wrong) died, there was an influx of news and updates once Fortinibras (Pyre wasn't sure about that one either, kill her) took the reigns. Now it seemed there was yet more to hear, this time it was Ace delivering the news. "What is it?" He asked, judging by Ace's body language and tone, Gray was guessing it wasn't happy news.

  • It definitely wasn't happy news, and Ace himself couldn't believe that Fortinbras had died. Especially after so soon upon taking the Throne. "Fortinbras Lynderly has passed away," Ace responded, trying to hide the fact he didn't want to announce this to the Riftians. He didn't want to be King, he wasn't ready to be one. "That, um. That leaves me as the new High King of Westeros."

  • "I'm sorry to hear that, my condolences." So it was grim news after all, tragedy had struck Westeros yet again. "Congratulations on your ascension." What a painful way to become leader, in the wake of a death.

  • Oh, it was Ace! Cyrus remembered him from when they'd both been Ambassadors between the Arcane and Westeros, back before the merge. It wasn't until the nyari got closer, however, that he realised how his body language suggested this wasn't a regular, happy meeting. Besides, Ace wasn't their usual ambassador over here... The announcement about Fortinbras came as a shock- so soon after his ascendance, after the previous leader's death... He vividly remembered the emotion in Fortinbras' speech, and how Cyrus had wished to be able to speak to him at some point- though, he'd never gotten the chance. Now Ace was to be leader... Cyrus could tell he didn't think he was ready- it was a feeling Cyrus had once shared, and he sympathised. Though his leader hadn't died, she'd only stepped down. The pain Ace must be feeling...
"I'm sorry," he said quietly, unsure whether to congratulate him as Gray had. It felt strange to congratulate someone when they gained power only through another's death. "I wish you good luck as High King." His words came slowly, awkwardly formal.
