  • Val smiled as Annie placed her hand on her cheek, and she saw the girl doing her best to stay positive, telling her that everything was going to be okay. She couldn't help but question if those words were true. Everything was going to be okay, but maybe not in the sense that she thought. Allison had ended dozens of lives, dozens of girls lives, and for what? She wasn't jealous of them at all. She was part of the most feared clique in the school, she was at the top. So why would she go so low as to almost end Val's life, of all people?

Allison already had a bad record, so why would she just add more fuel to the fire by endangering–possibly even ending–the life of another of the most well known girl in the school? Val let the thought sink to the back of her mind. Right now, all she needed was to sleep, but she felt like she had slept for an enernity, like death had given her a chance to catch up on the years of sleep she had missed, if only for a few minutes.

  • Annie gave her hand a comforting squeeze before standing up. "I'll be right back, okay?" She said biting her lip before walking out into the hall. She pulled out her phone and took a deep breath. In and out, Annie. In and out. She had three text messages from her mom. All along the lines of the first. Calling her mean names and demanding a response. She ignored them again, and dialed 911.

"911 what's your emergency?" A man asked. "I.. uh. My name's Annie Fox. My friend Val was stabbed at ____ high school about an hour ago, and she's now stable. S-She think's she remembers who stabbed her." She said, hesitating into the phone. "Accusing someone of attempted murder is serious. But if you're sure, please continue ma'am." The male voice said calmly. "Allison Rhodes. She goes to the same school as us. She did it, sir." She said quietly. She could almost hear him nod as he clicked on a mouse from the other side of the phone. "We'll call her in and let you know any updates, Ms. Fox" He said a goodbye and hung up the phone. Annie shoved the phone back in her pocket and walked back into the room. Putting on another smile. For Val.

  • Val watched as Annie walked out of the room, presumably to call someone, and she later back down on the bed, her gaze strayed up to the ceiling again, listening to the quiet beeping of the monitor to her left. It was almost a miracle she was even alive. She hadn't even remembered the blood seeping through her clothes, or the pain that has wracked her side. Just the paralyzing feeling, the numb feeling, of death. Silence. Everything that wasn't when she was stabbed. Yet, she remembered every detail leading up to it.

Allison had been carrying her to the classroom where she was kept, carelessly throwing her on the ground, not even daring to give the frozen girl a look of remorse or guilt. Just one of pure hatred. She had said exactly what Val had engraved in her mind. Allison had taken out a knife, ran the flat edge along her neck and chest, resting on her abdomen. Val couldn't move. The knife went through.

By the time she has resurfaced from the memory, she was laying back down on the bed, tears running down her face. The door opened again, and Annie stepped through. Val didn't dare sit up, but she returned the smile. "Did... did you talk to someone?" she asked quietly.

  • Annie didn't want to keep secrets already, but she didn't want to worry Val. "Yeah.. Just my mom." She said. The genuinely sad expression on her face made the lie believable. "Just getting some rest okay. I'll be right here all night." She said plopping back down in the chair, holding Valerie's hand once again. Annie was very tired already. Her mind went through a lot in the live six or so hours.

Annie's eyelids started to droop and finally fluttered closed. She instantly fell into a soft slumber. She kept a hold on Val's hand while she slept, but her grip loosened. After a while Annie started to frown in her sleep, muttering nonsense under breath in an angry tone.

    *dream*
Annie was walking in school. It was a normal day but she felt something was missing. All the normal bullying. Of course no one helped her.. Wait, that's it, isn't it? She was missing someone to help her. Who, though. Did she already know? Tears were streaming down her cheeks, but her face was stone and emotionless. People of all race, gender, and social stance making fun of her. "WHAT?! WHAT DID I DO? I'M SO F*CKING NICE. TO EVERYONE." She yelled at the bystanders and bullies. She did nothing wrong. She was smart, and poor. That's all she did. No be born into a luxurious life. An abusive mother. A dead father. No friends. No relatives. Nothing. Worse, though. She was emotionally and physically attacked for these things she couldn't control. Suddenly everyone hushed down. Except for one.

A maniacal but girly laugh erupted from right in front of her. A lock of red hair tossed behind the should of the person making that laugh that sent shivers up the blonde's spine.
Allison Rhode. "You thought you could just turn me in? Get it over with? HAH. Stupid blondes. I'm innocent. At least in their eyes. She said pointing to a group of people, who upon closer inspection were a group of police and EMT workers, along with a Tall woman in Judge robes. Annie went to turn back to her, but Allison was now holding a long, sharp, and terrifyingly close knife. Allison chuckled and pressed the tip into Annie's skin. The first centimeter sliced easily into her flesh. Annie tried to scream but she couldn't She couldn't breath. Allison put both hands on the handle of the knife, but before she pressed it into Annie's stomach, Annie woke up with a loud gasp.

  • Val had just fallen asleep for a few minutes, the thoughts sinking to the back of her mind, when she was awoken by a gasp. Her eyes flew open, and Annie was next to her, still holding her hand. The blonde was extremely pale, her hair a mess, and she looked like she got scared by something. When her eyes glanced up to the window, she saw that the sky was now a dark blue, the moon casting light into the room.

"A-Annie? What was that? What happened?" she asked quietly, being careful to not alert the doctors in case the monitor went off again. Her eyes were on her friend, but her mind was on Allison, what had happened. She hoped that she didn't barge into the room and decide that she was worthy of killing twice. Or worse, come into the room and kill Annie, the one person she was ever really close to aside from her brother. She didn't want to lose Annie, not now.

  • Annie felt a bead of sweat dripping off her forehead and making her hair stick to the sides of her face. Her breaths were shallow and raspy and she fought to catch her breath. She was startled by the sound of another voice and almost fell off of her chair before the memories of the previous day and her dream flooded ingo her mind and she started to take deep breaths.

"I-I'm sorry. I just had a bad dream. Go back to bed." She said trying to hide the fact she was still mentally freaking out. She sat back into the chair and wiped some sweat off her head. She hoped Allison would be caught, soon.

  • Val nodded and closed her eyes, letting her grip on Annie's hand loosen, almost to the point where she was barely even holding her hand. She couldn't fall asleep as much as she wanted to. Everything collided all at once, and her body tensed slightly. The only thought that ran through her head was Allison. She would be caught. She had to be caught. She couldn't get her hands on her ever again. Once was enough.

At the same time, she prayed she could see the girl before she would be locked up. She deserved it, for kidnapping and killing dozens of girls, almost took Val's life, and traumatized and enraged Annie. There was no way Allison was going to get away without consequences

ooc; should we skip ahead to the next day?

  • -sure-

Annie was awake at six-ish in the morning when the sound of her phone ringing in her pocket echoed through the small hospital room. Her heart leapt out of her chest and she almost fell out of her chair for the second time in the last twelve hours. She sighed and quickly pulled her phone out of her pocket and answered the call, hoping it hadn't woken up the seemingly asleep Valerie. "Hello, is this Ms. Annie Fox?" The female voice asked, and Annie strangely found it familiar.

"Yes, this is her.." She said quietly before walking to the other side of the room. "We have an update on the suspected Allison Rhode.." She said, making all the blood drain from her face, and her heartbeat quicken. Before Annie could say anything the voice spoke again. "We took her under interrogation early this morning around three, and we've concluded that she had no part in these attacks due to lack of evidence. She had an alibi, and a witness to confirm her alibi. Though she doesn't have a clean file, her behavior is not murderous." She said and tears pooled in Annie's eyes.
"No you don't understand. Val saw her-" She said, but was interrupted. "We understand what you believe but she was proven innocent, and until we receive further compelling evidence we can't arrest her."

  • Val heard quiet voices through the sleep that clouded her mind, making it impossible to distinguish who it was at first. Then, she heard someone get up from the chair that was next to her bed, and she knew it was Annie. Her heart dropped when she heard the sadness in her words, but she couldn't open her eyes and ask her what was wrong. But Allison... was she caught? Was she arrested? Or was she another one that was going to get away and try to kill more girls?

Val was too tired to try to piece together the last twelve hours, but she heard the beeping of the monitors, and that brought her back into the realm of sleep.

  • Annie listened to the officer lady hang up, and the line go dead. Leaving her to melt in her own pile of self pity right there on the spot. She felt tears stinging the back of her eyes as she walked back to Valerie's bedside. "I'm sorry Valerie." She mumbled, feeling more helpless than before. What was she supposed to do now? Allison was guilty but not even the police believed her.
