"Yeah but still," he said.

"Go back to sleep," Mika said. "I'll stay here with you."

Mika watched him for a while lost in thought. After a bit he picked up Yu's sword. He'd seen it plenty of times now but this time he wished he could talk to the demon and tell him to leave Yu alone.

Mika was quite surprised. He glanced at Yu and realized he couldn't get up without risking waking him. He'd have to be quiet. "He does look peaceful," he agreed. "I didn't know you could come out like this. You used to be a vampire right?" It was odd to think he had something in common with a demon of all things.

Mika pushed a blanket under Yu's head for a pillow. "come on then, we should talk," he said heading for the door to the shack. Even if Yu was out cold he wanted to make sure the others couldn't eavesdrop. Once outside he turned to face the demon. "Why did you turn into a demon? Was it by choice?" he asked. He'd get to the point about leaving Yu alone of course but he wanted to know this.

Mika nodded. When vampires had practically eternity to live a thousand years wasn't quite so long as it might be to a human. "Krul, so you were her brother," he said. He didn't say it as a question more a fact. "Looks like the humans got to you though," he said indicating the sword. After all he was bound to it. He'd brought it out here with him. He drew the sword looking at the blade that had impaled him before. "I want you to leave Yu alone. Stop blaming Yu for the deaths of our family and messing with him. I'd never blame him, it was my fault not his."

"Yu wouldn't lie to me," Mika said not really trusting him. "My death? There wasn't anything he could've done for me. I don't want you appearing as me to him any more though."

"Stop trying to mess with me, of course he wouldn't," Mika said. "Every so often isn't better," he complained.

Mika sighed. He knew there wasn't really a way to stop him, he didn't have any threats or away to stop him. There was becoming a demon himself and replacing Yu's demon but that probably wasn't a very good option. "I don't suppose there is any way to convince you otherwise," he said. "You said he asked you about Guren, what do you know about him? Like his abilities and his demon weapon?" he asked. "If Yu can't speak to him we might end up fighting him."

Mika nodded. "Then we'd better make sure it isn't Mahiru when Yu talks to Guren," he said. "It'd be helpful if we could ensure that or force him back to Guren." Even then it wouldn't be easy if Guren decided to fight them instead.
