Without further Ado, let's get started!

Rogue shut her locker as the bell rang, books in hand for her next class. She was glad the day was almost over, she was ready to get out of here and away from everyone.

Damian whistled along to tune of the song he was currently listening to, walking down the busy halls of the Institute. Damian stopped abruptly and thought for a moment, he didn't really want to go to class today.

Emerald sat outside underneath the shade of one of the trees. She was skipping classes today, it was just one of those days. Too nice to stay inside. She played with the tree's shadow.

  • One of Ben Solomon's biggest frustrations regarding Xavier's Institute - and he only had a few - was how little he had to do during much of the day. The amount of time he had spent at the institute left him with few classes to take, and, as of yet, he could think of nowhere else to live, so he stayed, occasionally embarking on missions with the more senior X-Men.

In one of those monotonous lulls now, Ben found himself wandering the grounds, wracking his brains for a purpose to his day. In his mind, he was five minutes away from going inside and asking if the toilets needed cleaning.

Ben passed an unfamiliar student, sitting under a tree and forcing the shadow to twist and contort in unnatural ways. He'd met mutants with much stranger powers, so this new display only mildly surprised him. "You new around here?" he asked abruptly, stopping just outside the tree's twisting shade.

  • Emerald glanced up at the unfamiliar boy at the sound of his voice. Letting the shadow fall back to it's original form, she shook her head at his question, "Not really, I've been here for a few years now. You?"

  • Walking around, kazuma had looked at the flyer for the job he was on. He was searching for a lost cat. Sighing, he looked at Kanami who had followed him. He normally would never take this kind of job as he found these boring. However, he could not say no to kanami. Passing by the school, he noticed kanami staring as he soon grabbed her hand and moved her away. "Come on let's find that cat." Kanami soon blinked and nodded before walking some more... until she heard a meow around the school. As soon as she did, she pulled away from

Kazuma. "The kitty must be around here!" She said running to look as Kazuma sighed and followed her.

  • Tyler sat in his room, propped up on his bed with pillows and a book, reading. He had little to do, his only class of the day was cancelled cause the teacher had to go somewhere or another, he particularly didn't care why it was canceled considering all he wanted to do was read his book.

  • Damian breathed in, trying to get a feel of the emotions of people around him. Glancing around discreetly, he tried manipulating the emotions of as many people around him as he could, trying to make them all feel love.

Rogue rubbed her hand across her eyes, exhausted. In a last minute decision, she shoved her books in her bag and headed to the school exit.

  • Kazuma finally managed to catch up to kanami as he looked at her. "Look the kitten isn't here. I suggest we leave before we get in trouble." Kanami pouted and nodded as she soon looked at Kazuma and hugged him. (Hey you affected kanami congrats). Blinking, Kazuma soon saw a random cat pounce into his arms as he blinked. "Uh... ok?"

  • ((Yay :) haha))

Damian watched as several students in the halls stopped abruptly and hugged one another, some even began kissing. He silently laughed too himself.

  • Kazuma soon realized what was going on and looked around. Seeing others start to act like this he tried to find the culprit. Whoever did that was about to get hurt. Seeing kanami not letting go as he walked around. He sighed and picked her up and the cat. "Next time." He said and went to deliver the cat. It wasn't that far from the school so he managed to drop the car off, get paid, and managed to get kanami to wait for him at home. It took him about 15 minutes as he walked back the school cracking his knuckles. "Nobody messes with kanami. Nobody!"

  • Damian watched as the effects of his powers wore off. Everyone blinked as if confused for a moment before going back to their previous business.

Sighing, Damian made his way to the closest door leading outside.

  • Kazuma had walked back to the school cracking his knuckles. He was mad that someone had manipulated kanami like that and was looking for a fight. Mainly with whoever did that.

  • Walking out the door at the end of the hall, Damian breathed in a breath of fresh air before heading towards the trees. He decided he'd like to go take a look at this 'Rogue' person the adults have been trying to recruit for quite some time. He knew a lot of the students were curious, but usually the adults prevented them from reaching out to new mutants-or those they thought were too dangerous-unless they thought it could be to their advantage.

  • "A few years?" Ben asked, brow furrowing. "Fair's fair. I've been here for...all my life," he said casually, shrugging. He considered moving on, but he started the conversation; he could only walk away if he wanted to look like a freak among freaks. "Don't think I've met you around. Name's Ben. Ben Solomon."

(( lol kind of busy for a weekend ))

  • ((It's all good))

"Emerald Evans." she replied, introducing herself as well, "That's not uncommon. It is a big place, after all. Plus, I don't get out around here much." she explained briefly to Ben. It was unusual for someone-anyone, really-to just all of a suddenly start talking to her. But, she was intrigued by the sudden stranger.

  • Semian "Semi" Kuang.
The sun was, as Semi had become aware, blisteringly obnoxious. While it wasn't especially hot out, the white pages of his book were blinding to the young male's eyes. He'd tried his best to shade the page as he read along, but to not much avail. Had it not been an issue for him, he'd already would have willed his wings to sprout and provide much needed shade over his shoulders and book. However, recently he'd been losing more feathers than usual, but he wasn't experiencing molting- not at this time of year. There was also the issue of him needing to either risk ripping the backside of his shirt open or removing it completely. Yeah, there's no way that's happening. He thought. His grimace grew wider in frustration, and the black haired male eventually opted to completely give up on reading outside, at least not without proper shade. But to sit against the base of a tree would cause more discomfort.

He'd visited the campus' medical wing a few times already this week. The dull ache in his arms and shoulders suggested the usual molting, but he wasn't to molt for another two months. He'd woken up in the middle of the night several times to the sharp pain of skin splitting, making way for his wings, sometimes even while he was still asleep. The nurses believed it was growth pains, noting that Semi was also experiencing similar pain in his knees. They could only suggest pain medications and sleeping with his wings present until the pain ceased.

Heaving a deep sigh, Semian shut his book. It would've helped if he could get his mind off of the increasing amount of discomfort within his upper back. Maybe he'd try the library; quiet and air conditioned. Shuffling his things in his arms, Semi made his way down the pathway back towards the school building. Skipping class was increasingly common for him, mostly because he was doing exceedingly well in all his classes anyways. He would finish week-long projects within hours of them being assigned, so there really was no need to attend. It did hurt his attendance record but he wasn't planning on being top of his class for everything.

Semi rolled his shoulders, feeling them spasm with another ache. He looked up briefly and noticed another student walking in his direction. He'd seen his face a couple of times around, and they maybe shared a conversation together at a few moments. What was his name again... Damian? He dipped his head towards him as he passed, but halted his steps abruptly. It became increasingly clear to Semi that he wasn't quite sure where the library was actually located. Quickly jerking his head around, Semi let out a small, "Hey," He shifted the books in his hands, turning to face him completely. "Any possibility you know where the library is?"

  • "Not thatbig," Ben mumbled, looking aside for a moment before fixing Emerald with a more intent look. "It wouldn't be too private for me to ask what you were doing with the shadows, would it?" he asked, pointing out the shaded ground between them. Lots of mutants didn't like talking about their powers, and even Solomon was no exception.

// so, if i'm correct, Rogue hasn't actually been invited to Xavier's Institute? Perhaps a few characters could embark on their first real mission, to try to invite her?

  • ((Sorry! Been busy the past couple of days but should be free for a while x) They've attempted to recruit her a few times but she keeps turning them down, but they're not giving up. That's why only the adults are officially allowed to approach her and other students are not. Damian just doesn't really care and he's curious. If you'd like, we can get Ben and Emerald to go with him and whatnot?))

Damian stopped at the sound of another male calling out to him. Turning to face Semi. He smiled at the somewhat familiar mutant and nodded, "Yeah, sure." he turned to the west wing of the building and pointed, "That building right there, last pair of double doors at the end of the hall is the library." he instructed.

The corner of Emerald's lips lifted ever so slightly at his question. Flexing her hand out to the shadows again, she made them move, twisting and even lifting off of the ground, "I can manipulate darkness itself. Even create it from nothing-though that takes a lot of energy. Simply controlling other shadows, however, is easier." she lifted her eyes to his, "The best part, however, is being able to entomb my enemies in complete darkness-complete nothingness."

  • While Ben's mind was working away - thinking about Emerald's explanation, her dramatic presentation of her formidable power - his face only betrayed mild intrigue. "Huh. Pretty neat. I mostly just cut things," he said understatedly, clawing at the air like a cat in a way that was not at all indicative of how his abilities worked. "You hear about that girl? That new mutant?"

Rogue, as far as he was aware, was supposed to be confidential; he hadn't heard her talked about among most of the other students, and when the senior residents - the X-Men - discussed her, they did it in hushed voices, in places they thought were private. Ben was lucky enough to have had enough exposure to them to hear of her existence.

  • Emerald cocked an eyebrow at his sudden and unexpected question, but answered nonetheless, "You mean the girl the X-Men have been trying to recruit? Vaguely. I got caught eavesdropping on a couple of the adults, of course, they're forbidding anyone who knows about her to tell anyone else, and they're forbidding those who do know to go anywhere near her. Apparently, she can kill anyone with just a touch. At least, according to a couple of the teachers, and they don't want anyone risking their lives by running into her."
