A canine slowly stumbled through the forest foliage, talking
out loud to himself as he stooped down to look at some moss. “Moss only grows
on the south side of the ground right? Wait, no, no, no, it wasn’t south. And
moss doesn’t even grow on the ground, does it? Mushrooms and trees grow on the
ground, but there’s plenty of those, they won’t help me out.” He let out a loud
tsking sound, about to continue on his rant when a realization seemed to occur.
Backing up slightly, he arrived in a clearing, taking a moment to look around before
talking in a softer volume. “Wait a second. For all I know these aren’t even
real trees. Robots, plastic? No no, think!” After staying still for a moment,
he walked over to a tree and whacked it, barely recoiling when his paw started
to bleed. “Wood, of course! Why didn’t I think of that? It’s a very clever idea
indeed. Disguise yourself as a common material so that nobody notices you. But
when everyone’s asleep, wham!” For those who didn’t know him, Bane gave the
impression of a crazy person at this moment. He was a generally energetic
person of course, but this sort of behavior was odd even for him. “I know you
all are living! Don’t try to hide it!”

As much as Bane concerned Luke, what with his weird jokes and requests to his clanmates to 'introduce their butts', it was a relief to hearing his rambling. It was something he didn't know he would miss until it was gone. Carefully, he stepped around some foliage and cleared his throat, "Ah, Bane?" he would call. "Okay... technically the tree is living. However, it can't talk back or do anything really. Expect produce oxygen, of course." Now that that was out of the way, he stepped forward some more. "But, hey! Hello... it's nice to see you again. You finally coming back?"
-
Bane momentarily stopped ranting to glance over at Luke, a faint glimpse of recognition shining in his eyes as walked towards the other. Stopping just an inch or two away from the lions face, he squinted for a moment before letting out a frustrated huff. “Oh, I should know you! God, what was your name again?” His irises seemed to have an odd shine to them, and the pupils were enlarged, giving the impression that the canine had been drugged. He didn’t seem to be bothered by it though, only his energy and slurred speech giving it away. “It was something awfully plain, wasn’t it? Bill? Jim? No, it had an L sound. Larry, Laura, Luke!” He nearly shouted the last part, a grin appearing on his face as he aimed to drag the other into a hug. He wasn’t exactly big enough to do so, but damn did he try. “You should’ve seen the needles! They were huge.”
-
Luke appeared uncomfortable for a moment as Sanepaw came closer, but he set a paw on the other's shoulder and patted it gently before moving away from the awkward hug. There was definitely something not right with him. "What are you talking about?" he asked, staring intently at the canine's face. "Are you okay?"
-
Needles? That never was good, and Oliver had instant flashbacks to the island with that single word. Still, he gritted his beak and willed those thoughts away as he padded over with a grin. "Hey, welcome back. We've missed ya. Still interested in that flying thing?" the leader asked as he ruffled his wings a little.

THIS TIME I'LL BE BULLETPROOFThe wolf was too pleased to notice her friend's erratic behaviour, instead choosing to stumble up to the collie and embrace him in a massive hug. Damn, she had a lot of stuff to tell him about. "You wouldn't know moss if it slapped you in the face," Eli murmured.(c)trexgirl
