    Language learning is one of my favorite hobbies, but so far I only know English, Spanish, and I can understand a splash of German here and there. I would like to try talking to other people in any language besides English! We can message here, Skype, email, or even do good ol'-fashioned snail mail.
    What languages can you speak?

    I understand! I can actually read + speak better Spanish than I can understand (hearing), except in the case of my friend Wendy, for some reason. How did you learn Spanish and French?

    I learned Spanish quickly/easily because my whole family comes from Central America so it's a no-brainer there. ^^


    And I'm taking French classes at my school. Right now, I'm finishing my second year of it.


    I also tend to pick up a few other words from other languages like ovo is egg in Portuguese and that stuff

    Oh I can only say greetings like "hallo", "guten morgen" and "guten tag", a few words like "ich", "danke", "bitte", "ja", "nein", and "frau". Just things I've seen around heard my mom say (she studied it for a few years, she can make light conversation.) I can understand a lot more than I can say/type, though, especially when there's context provided, since it's so similar to English!

    i can speak nearly fluent korean and cebuano (a dialect of the Philippines), and i can understand simple phrases in german! I love learning new languages, it's a hobby of mine as well. for now i've been focusing on korean and ive been learning german on the side but i can speak a few french phrases and very basic spanish.

    I speak English, mostly fluent French, and I'm kind of learning Japanese. I know numbers up to twelve in Spanish and how to say 'I don't speak Spanish' in Spanish

    idk if i want to learn korean- it doesn't seem to be as universal as some of the aforementioned languages. what drew you to Korean specifically?

    emerymontrue yeah it's after the soysauce! My friends in school started calling me soysauce as a nickname because I'm Asian and always 'salty' to be fair they aren't wrong lmao. And I had a friend a couple years ago who invited me to go to Korea with him during the summer for a senior trip and that's when I got into the language and as I was learning I got into Korean dramas, variety shows and Korean music.

    Just speak out if anyone wants to improve their language with me. ^u^


    I speak fluent swedish, norwegian, danish and moderate with thai. I am weak with mandarin chinese, french, german, but can read german fairly well.


    I am currently learning mandarin chinese and french.

    I can speak English, quite good Spanish and French due to classes at school, and I'm teaching myself Japanese and Korean. My friend is trying to get me to learn Swedish and Norwegian with her, which I may well do. It's nice to see other people interested in languages! ^^*
