Natalie and her brother are both adopted, from different families. Both having been adopted at a young age, Jonny has no memories of his birthparents. Natalie does. She remembers very vaguely her mother and father fighting,when she was very little. Her father would get so out of hand he'd throw things at her mother and one day even tried to attack her. Her biological mom, worried for Nat's safety, gave her up because she was too scared to leave her abusive husband. She keeps these memories to herself, wanting to find some sort of solace in it. She loves her adoptive parents far more, though, and wouldn't trade her brother for the world.

She really enjoyed her life–that is until she left home for college. At the age of nineteen, Natalie Alexia Rhodes had plans. Having taken a year off after high school, she was ready to jump back into the academic world. What could go wrong? She fell in love with a boy. A mean, cruel boy who treated her wrongly and like an object when she finally got ahold of him. A bit naïve, she wasn't aware she could tell him no. That she had the power to stop him. She didn't have to give him what he wanted when he wanted. Rumors spread around like wildfire(started by this boy) about how she was a whore and easy because she never objected to his desires. She was ridiculed and hated because she didn't understand. She hated it, and dropped out. Not long after, she met her girlfriend.

Her girlfriend was super kind and sweet, and rebuilt Nat to be stronger and more confident and resilient., and when they started dating, it just kept improving! Natalie really, really loved her. Her girlfriend, Seraphina, was apparently(/wink wonk/) overrun by zombies and had forced her to leave without her. She's still very heartbroken and is very protective over Jonathan, worried to lose him as she's lost everyone else she's loved. She doesn't believe that after the apocalypse is over there'll be anything left for her. So, she holds on tightly to her baby brother and works for his future rather than her own.

HISTORY

Jonathan was adopted and has no memories of his birthparents. What he does know, is whatever story that had the orphanage told his adoptive ones. His mother had him from an affair because her husband was so terrible to her. His father had helped her and sex was the only way she knew how to repay him. Her husband never found out about the affair because she turned up pregnant, ditched his father, and turned back to him. His mother, just a few months after his birth, got into a fight with his step-dad. She revealed the baby was in-fact not his(she had a blood test), even if he loved him that way. His step-father had changed a lot to raise Jonny, but it wasn't going to work out. She attacked him, accidentally killing him, and panicked. She turned herself in after dropping Jonny off with a letter explaining everything.

After finding out he was adopted, he felt the need to prove himself because he wasn't at all like Natalie and he wasn't going to end out like his birthmother and his step-dad. He burdened himself with the idea of proving himself and has been working to do so for ten years. He got into fights and was suddenly the "bad child" because at school, he was mocked for his ADHD and he retaliated to prove he was good enough.
