Many moons ago, a group of kittypets witnessed clan life and were inspired. They formed IvyClan, an experiment of sorts, to see if the principles of the wild clans could be replicated in the urban environment they lived in. For a while, IvyClan was prosperous, and some members took on warrior-like names to further the realism of the test. One such cat was Hollowheart. He originally participated in the clan with enthusiasm, but realised to the other is was all just a game. As soon as they hit trouble they ran off to their housefolk, wheras the clan they had witnessed had made it through moons of famine. Hollowheart began to plan a way to make the clan even more realistic - betrayal from the inside. He knew that he wasn't the only cat who was unhappy with their clanmate's cowardice, and he slowly began to rile those cats up. A divide was formed between two groups, as some of these renegades permanently left their homes for a rogue lifestyle and looked down upon the still kittypets. The problem was, they couldn't just outcast the cats who weren't invested enough; their leader, a cat named Ivystar who also answered to Snowy, was all for the easy nights in the warmth and the fun of hunting. So Hollowheart continued to rally in secret, forming a group he named the Renegade Scouts. This elite group returned to the clan and through a sly warrior named Duskstorm trained in fighting, something IvyClan had neglected. When the Renegades finally attacked their own clan, they won without much of a fight. Hollowheart dealt the death blow to Ivystar with an evil smirk and wild eyes, and proclaimed himself leader.
Hollowheart renamed himself just Hollow and ruled like a dictator. He'd taken the clan by force and while some kittypets left and avoid the new territory, some cowardly cats stayed under his rule and were forced to also abandon the warrior names. Hollow and his elite group were at the top of the hierarchy, followed by the former IvyClan warriors. The new Scouts (ex-warriors) were made to leave behind not only their kittypet life, but normal clan life too. A lot of cats fled, only to be found and killed as propaganda. Hollow eventually died, succeeded by his equally corrupt daughter.
