  • Plot: So my charrie is off wandering the forest in her backyard, as she does every year, but she gets distracted and goes too far this time. She runs across a cabin in which your charrie is in, but they are a dangerous criminal out on the run with bounty hunters out to get him.

Cold… It is so cold. Well, duh, of course it is stupid. You’re lost again in this damn forest. I couldn’t believe I was doing this to myself again, even after what had happened last time. I let out a slow breath, watching the cloud of breath wisp and float away in the frigid air, my footsteps crunching in the snow beneath my heavy black boots. My emerald eyes flicked around calmly, a little smile on my rosy but frozen lips, unable to contain my glee with how beautiful it truly was here. Only a few miles away from my house, and I was free to walk and enjoy the snow whenever I wanted. I raised a gloved hand to tap the snow laden branches beside me, watching as the branch dipped to the ground before springing back up, flicking me in the face with the remnants of the snow. I jumped back with stifled laughter, shaking my head with how dumb that was, before I kept walking, sinking to my knees in the deep white snow. Why the hell do I do this every year? To eventually die of the freezing cold, or just for the pure fun of freezing my ass off?

There. Maybe whoever owned this cabin would let me warm up before I found my way home again. My crimson hair definitely stood out against the bright glare of the snow, so I knew there was no possible way of sneaking up on the cabin. I must’ve gone farther than usual..I’ve never seen this cabin here before. I thought as I trudged through the snow, clutching my thick black jacket tight around my curvy frame, my jeans catching almost every clump of snow and dumping it in my boots. I felt like my toes were about to fall off with how much snow was being dumped in my boots, but I was almost to the cabin, so there wasn't exactly a point of complaining. It was getting dark too, so hopefully whoever was in the cabin would allow me to stay the night before I went back to my small home.

  • (Hey! Mind if I join? o: I would post a reply but I don't have much time and figured I may as well check that I could join, haha. Want me to post a form or anything??)

Name: Narcissus (goes by the name Nyx to try and hide his identity)
    Age: 20
Description: Tall, broad-shouldered man with pale, white skin and black hair that has the tips dyed a bright sea green. He usually wears a black shirt, black jeans, and black boots that are a stark contrast against his skin. His eyes are a blue-gray.
Personality: Narcissus is a cold man who doesn't like getting close to anyone. With people constantly looking for him, the man has had to be wary of everyone he's come across. When he was younger, he never had any friends and had to look out for himself. As he grew up, he made friends, but they only encouraged his criminal tendencies. They were never true friends, and only hung out with him because they thought he was cool.
History: He's always had a criminal tendency. Before he was even a teenager, he would shoplift from stores. These crimes slowly grew higher and higher until he eventually killed someone at the age of 16. He fled from the police, and had been on the run ever since. There have also been bounty hunters trying to find him, causing him to be wary of anyone he meets. He eventually built a cabin in the middle of a forest, and has been hiding in there since.

    ...i hope that'll do cx

Narcissus stared out of the window, a hand resting against his chin. He had the look of one who was bored, but his eyes were darting around. He saw the crimson hair before he saw anything else. Immediately, he was alert, watching closely. He lifted his head off of his hand and watched, blue-gray eyes narrowed. In the time of him living here, no one had found this cabin. He enjoyed the peace and quiet, yet here was someone coming to possibly disrupt that.

As they approached, it became clear to him that they were no bounty hunter. Female, with crimson hair and what appeared to be emerald eyes. He watched, noting that she was practically covered in snow. How long had she been out? She couldn't live close to here, he had checked the area for miles to make sure no one was nearby. Unless he missed a house? He certainly hoped not, he couldn't risk this cabin being found out.

The girl appeared harmless, but he had learned from experience that it was better to be safe than sorry. So he watched as she approached, deftly sliding a knife down a slot on his left black boot so it was hidden. He approached the door and looked out a peephole, continuing to watch to see what she would do.

  • OOC: It's great! <3

Mori wiped the snow from her eyelashes as she approached the cabin hurriedly, feeling the weight of the gathering snow on her head though her hair still stood out intensely against the stark white. She paused for a moment just to enjoy watching the sun go down, feeling at peace despite the danger that lay in the cabin, though she had no idea who was inside. She shook her head and trudged through the snow to get to the cabin door, shaking her numb hands before raising a fist to knock on the door. "Hello? Is someone in there?" Mori called out before taking a step back, sniffling quietly as she fought the urge to peek into one of the windows. She didn't want to appear rude and nosy, especially if the person didn't want her to come in.

"I was hoping I could come in and warm up for a moment?" She called out once more, shifting her weight to keep her feet semi warm as her toes wiggled in the freezing wet socks she wore. Mori began to brush the snow off of her coat and clothes, shaking her head to get it off her hair as her soft emerald eyes peered around worriedly.

  • Narcissus watched as the girl approached, snow seeping into her clothes and hair. He hadn't noticed it when she was farther away. Had she been flicking snow on her from the branches? He grunted. That was a fast way to freeze your ass off. What was she even doing here anyway? She didn't - she didn't want to come in did she? She knocked on the door, and he almost jumped from the sound. He made no move to open the door, instead continuing to watch her from the tiny hole.

As she spoke again, he paused. So she did want in. O...kay. Admittedly, he didn't know what to do in a situation like this. Wait, yes he did. He could just leave her out there to die. Wouldn't be hard. All he had to do was walk away from the door and do something else. She'd eventually decide someone wasn't there, and would leave. Hopefully. She wouldn't try to get in, would she? He had no idea. He knew if he was in her situation, he would, as long as he had a knife or something. He was reminded that he had a knife with him, and decided he would open the door, even if just a crack.

And open the door a crack he did. He let a blue-gray eye show, and perhaps a bit of the tip of his hair, which he rather sloppily dyed himself in order to hide his identity. Honestly, he didn't know why he did it. As soon as someone realized he had done this, it'd be over. He'd be easy to identify. But whatever, that didn't matter now. He hoped. He glared at the girl in front of his door. "Who are you?" He would have asked what she wanted, but he already knew that. His voice was gruff, a bit raspy as well, since he hadn't spoken in a while. He wasn't really one to speak. He was suddenly beginning to regret his choice. He'd have to speak, wouldn't he?

  • It's freezing, just let me in. I know there has to be someone here. Mori thought with a little sigh as a minute passed by after she knocked on the door and called out, nibbling her plump bottom lip nervously. What if they didn't let her in? She would for sure freeze to death with how wet and cold she was getting, due to her own dumb negligence. Mori shifted her weight once more before taking a step back to peer around, hoping there would be another cabin nearby just in case. Her head snapped around as she heard shuffling and then the door slowly open just a tad, her hands clenched in her jacket pockets as adrenaline pumped through her.

"I-I'm Mori...I live just a few miles away, but I got a bit turned around, obviously. A bit dumb of me.." Mori said sheepishly with a small smile as she tilted her head just a bit to get a better look at the man, her own eyes narrowing slightly with curiosity. He looked to be quite the introvert, judging by the way he barely opened the door to her, and there was a strange look in his eye that piqued her interest. He looked... intriguing to say the least, making her inch a bit closer but not too close.

"I was hoping I could come in just for a few minutes to warm up, and then I'll be on my way, and I won't bother you again. Or get lost again. Probably." Mori said quietly, shaking her head a bit since she was just rambling, swallowing thickly as she met his gaze once more.

  • Narcissus grunted. A few miles away? He would have surely seen the house. He'd checked the perimeter, many miles wide and hadn't seen a house when he built this one. If he missed one house, surely there must be others he had missed. Maybe he wasn't safe here after all. He turned his attention back to the girl - Mori, as she had called herself. "Yes, that is a bit dumb of you. Don't you know better than to wander around in a snowy forest? Who knows what could be out there." Such as a criminal. Who really didn't want to be in this situation. He saw her inch just a bit closer and tensed up.

He looked her up and down. She looked harmless enough. Covered in snow and shivering. It was rather cold out there, wasn't it? That was why he was in here, and never left. ...Also because he couldn't risk getting caught. He hesitated. He could let this one girl in, just for a moment, and then she'll be gone and he won't feel too bad or anything. Not that he ever felt much. Still, he wasn't one to let girls freeze to death. He looked over his shoulder and into his house briefly and realized he should probably do a bit of cleaning up. There were a few knives and other weapons scattered around, and he didn't want to get the girl to become wary. Of course, if worse came to worse he could just kill her. But he didn't want to resort to that. Blood was messy and a pain to clean up.

"Yeah, okay. Just...stay out there a moment. I need to...uh. Clean a bit." He hoped that wasn't too suspicious and closed the door before rushing over and picking up some knives. He stored them in a small compartment in his room and looked around. It didn't look like the house of a criminal, did it? He hoped not. He walked back to the door and peered out the hole briefly before opening it. "Come on in. Don't spend too long in this house, I'm a busy guy." Busy looking around to see if anyone was coming.

  • Mori tensed a little as he grunted after she spoke of her house, surprised someone so young wouldn't like the idea of other people being around them. She felt a light blush cover her cheeks at his remark, lifting her petite shoulders in a shrug as she tucked her wet hair back. "I can't help it...I love the snow." She said with a tiny grin as she glanced around, relieved she had brought a tiny flashlight with her, a last minute thought to grab it popping up in her head before she had left. Even then, it would barely help her in the dark, and it was closing fast, leaving her with her eyes slightly squinted as she tried to see him better.

Mori held back from sniffling again as he glanced behind him, constantly moving now to keep feeling in her toes and hands, her emerald eyes calm. "Oh... Thank you!" Her shoulders visibly relaxed at his answer, her whole body easing just a little as the tension left her. She stopped her wandering hand from opening the door to see what he could be cleaning up, since she swore she could hear faint clinks coming from just inside.Mori took a step back to stretch her cold muscles, before jumping as the door opened, giving a small nod. "I'll try not to take too long, I swear." She said with her hands held up just a bit before she hurried inside, brushing past him but stopped only a foot inside to take her boots and socks off before heading straight for the fireplace.

"I can't thank you enough. Really." She said as she stuck her hands close to the fire, her lips twitching into a faint frown as she heard far off howls of wolves. A big pack, by the sound of it. She let out a slow breath, hoping they would go a different direction so she wouldn't have to spend any longer in the mans home. Mori took a moment to look around the house curiously, blinking slowly as she did.

  • Narcissus watched as Mori walked into his house. It felt rather uncomfortable, allowing someone into his house when he's tried so hard to keep it hidden, but he forced himself to calm down. It was fine. If anything happened, he'd just kill her. No biggie. She was in his house. He knew everything about this house; he built it himself. "Better not," he murmured quietly. His eyes followed her as she walked over to the fireplace. He grunted, but didn't say anything more as she spoke. He heard a few howls off in the distance, but didn't worry about it much. He'd heard them plenty of other times before while he was here. He leaned against a wall near a window, eyes still on the girl as she looked around his house. It send a chill down his spine, and he tried to look around to make sure nothing was out of place. When he was satisfied that there wasn't anything, he turned to look out the window instead, continuing looking around to make sure nobody else was nearby.

  • "So... How long have you been living here?" Mori asked as she inched closer to the fireplace, warming her cold hands up as she began to shiver due to the sudden change of temperature. Her feet were starting to hurt but she knew it was good thing since it meant she hadn't lost them to frostbite. Yet. Her eyes wandered over the mans body for a moment as he turned away, still on edge as she had no idea who he was. Maybe he's a murderer... Or a really paranoid guy, like me. But I'm a woman. So...let's just hope he won't murder me? Mori thought as she shifted her weight from side to side, tempted to sit down for a moment but didn't want to anger him. She hadn't even gotten his name yet, which made her feel all the more awkward.

  • Narcissus turned slightly toward Mori, staring at her with one eye. He didn't say anything for a moment before letting out a small sigh. "I've been living here for about 6 months." He actually wasn't sure how long it had been. The days and months passed all in a blur. As far as he knew, it could have been a year. He turned back to looking out the window. The snow seemed to come down even harder, and he sighed again. Great. She might have to stay here even longer. He turned away from the window. It was getting hard to see anything; snow was everywhere he looked. He turned to Mori and watched her. "You can sit down if you wish." He ran a hand through his hair, messing it up slightly.

  • Mori nibbled her bottom lip as she followed his gaze out to the window, her stomach twisting as she saw the snow falling even harder now. If it came down any thicker, it would be impossible for her to leave, which made her feel even more guilty for being so stupid and getting lost in the first place. "6 months? It's a beautiful home you have, and a great place you picked.. I've lived here for almost 3 years now." She said quietly as she slowly sat down, her muscles stiff now from not moving, although it was a relief to get off her cold feet. She began to massage them as she warmed up by the fire, her eyes dull as her mind wandered with thoughts.

Mori hesitated to say anything again, glancing back at Narcissus slowly, curiosity flickering in her soft eyes before she looked out the window again as she swallowed nervously. "If you don't mind me asking, why did you move out here?" She asked, stretching her legs out in front of her so her feet were closer to the fire, running her hands up and down her legs to help warm them.

  • (Again, so sorry!)

Narcissus watched Mori for a moment before grunting. So she'd been here for 3 years. He still had no idea how he had missed seeing her house. This was a big risk he was taking. He couldn't let slip that he was a criminal in hiding. Then again, even if he did, he'd just have to kill her. He glanced out the window and saw the snow was still coming down hard. It'd be hard for her to escape, so that was nice. Plus her hair stuck out. Then again, so did his.

He was still looking out the window when he spoke again. Immediately, he tensed. Great. What was he to do now? He couldn't tell the truth. Although it was a little suspicious for him to be out in the middle of nowhere. He paused, thinking about what he could say. After a moment he sighed and spoke, "I guess I just wanted to get away from people." It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the full truth either. Of course it wasn't. There was no way he could say the actual, full truth. He turned away from the window and leaned against it, facing the girl.

  • OOC: No worries

Mori pressed her lips together to hold back a worried sigh as she watched the snow fall, feeling more and more nervous around the male she had just met. She fiddled with her cold toes as they warmed up, keeping herself distracted until she decided to speak to him again. "That's exactly what I did, so I guess I understand... I couldn't stand being around the city or even a small town." Mori glanced at him before getting to her feet, moving to pull her wet socks and shoes back on as her eyes darted towards the door.

"I should get going. Don't want to abuse your hospitality for too long." She said as she tucked her hair back up into a wet bun, glancing out the window once more as she shifted her weight nervously. She didn't know why, but he put her on edge but intrigued her at the same time, making her want to stay to learn more about him. Yet at the same time, he had a certain vibe of unwelcome about him that made her want to leave as soon as possible.
