Anneliese gave a satisfied smile before she went upstairs to her room. She flopped down onto her bed and stared up at the white silk canopy that perched above her head. Sighing, she sat up and gazed across the room at her desk, where a small photograph was propped up in a picture fame. It was a photo of her mother holding her right after she had been born- barely cleaned off. Before she knew it, tears were trailing down her face, and it was in that moment that she was grateful that she didn't have to share a room with Emily or Sophia, both of her adoptive sisters.

x Alec arrived at his house, pulling up into the driveway. Grabbing his stuff and getting out of the car, he locked his car before walking up to his door, twirling his keys around his index finger. He unlocked the door, stepping inside. His mom still wasn't home, so he dropped his stuff in his room and, for once, took out his Calculus homework.
After about ten minutes of trying to figure it out, he texted Anneliese. Are you good at Calculus? This is Alec, by the way.
-
Hearing her phone ding, Anneliese looked up to where she had left it, on her bed. She sat for a moment longer before getting up to answer it. Smiling when she read his message, she responded. I'm good at it, but I hate it.
-
x Good, can you help me with the homework? He laughed at how stupid he sounded, but shook his head. She offered to help him, and he was taking that offer. Hearing a car door slam outside, he saw his mother walk up the walkway.
-
Sure. Just let me know.
Anneliese set her phone down to get into the shower.
-
x Alec sent her a picture of practically the whole sheet of paper, then heard a knock on his door. "Alec, dinner's on the table." His mom said through the door, and Alec nodded. "Okay mom."
-
It was about thirty minutes before Anneliese responded with in-depth formulas and instructions for each problem.
//i wish it weren't too soon to timeskip to the cute parts omg
-
x Alec texted her a quick thanks before working on the problems himself.
//
me too oml -
She didn't return his message, but she did begin on her own homework
//A part of me wants to just skip rn -
x After finishing his homework, Alec scrolled boredly through his Instagram feed.
//A very large part of me does too :/
-
I think we need to bc the responses are becoming shorter o;
-
// true, so when should we skip to?
-
//maybe to the pregnancy scare?
-
// sure, that'll make it more interesting
-
ok cool. I'll start?
It was a bright Saturday afternoon when Anneliese called Alec, panicked. The line rang several times, before she really began to panic.
-
Alec answered soon after. "Ana?" He responded, using his new nickname he had given her over time.
-
"We have a problem, do you remember... that wedding you invited me to?" Anneliese fumbled over her words, clearly shaking.
-
Alec frowned a little. "Yeah, I do. What's wrong Anneliese?" He asked, worried. "I can go over to your house if you need me Ana.." He added hurriedly.
-
"God no, I don't want- my period is late, Alec we didn't- what are my parents going to do to me- oh god," She breathed, covering her mouth.
-
"Baby, breathe, I'm getting in my car right now to go to your house. I promise everything will be alright, just breath." He reassured, despite the fact that he too was scared. Anneliese could lose her position in her dance from this, and it would be his fault. Alec got in his car and started driving, balancing his phone between his shoulder and ear. The drive to her house was only about 5 minutes, so that was a good thing.
