  • ((:I'll make another character, a beta male:))

Moving from the peep hole in their makeshift door, Rolph turned around hearing more movement inside their concrete shelter. The older dog tried to smile, seeing the life coming up, but his heart would not allow it. His face softened anyway, and he padded back nodding to Shiloh as he went, and headed off to go check and make sure of the defenses. Even though they were underground, the structure obvious had some instabilities after the years of weather and neglect. Better safe than sorry, and it wasn't like he was busy anyway.

Seeing as she'd finished her meal a minute again, Honey cleaned her place dutifully, though it wasn't exactly the cleanest living enviornment anyway, and got up, shaking her fur, now crushed against her, back comfortably out. She saw that Maddy had emerged and walked to her,

"Hey, how are you? There didn't seem to be anyone injured from the hunt this morning, thank goodness, but it must get kind of boring. Do you have a good stock still?"

Drifting in and out of conciousness, Goliath would sometimes twitch his paws and whimper in face instead of sound, or softly puff what would have otherwise been a bark had his voice been of use, and others he would lazily pull apart his eyelids one after the other, smack his chops and wiggle himself in the dirt. He glanced around and saw what was rousing him- others awaking- but felt no need to rise again with them. He'd drift back off just the same, waiting for a time when he was needed.

  • (Forgot it was underground, so Askaban lives under the tracks, where the ground caved in, Maddy in a maintenance room, and Shiloh in a hole near the entrance! My bad!)

Askaban felt uneasy this morning, walking to the exit. He decided against staying put, and ventured out into the outside world. Alone. His paws treaded softly on the asphalt, and he kept his guard up, listening to everything around him. He sniffed the air curiously, catching the scent of a deer. He lowered himself and followed the scent, leading him to a large building.

"Yes, it can be quite boring. Its always a good thing though whenever no one gets injured." Maddy sighed and looked around the subway, taking note of whoever was around. "Do you know Shiloh?" She was trying to make conversation, plus she always liked pointing people in the direction of a loyal friend.

Shiloh nodded to the older dog, offering him half a smile, the other half tucked away deep inside his heart. Shiloh was a gentle soul and never really got out much anymore, despite being young. He just didnt see much of a need to run around chasing others, searching for a mate. The dalmation believed they would come to him, while he was doing what he loved- helping others. The mysterious dog stood and stretched, only to find himself laying back down.

  • (Sorry guys had work, and I was trying to find a subway with a broken down train but no luck, okay let me know if I forgot anyone on the list)

Aura was dozing as the pack settled. She heard light paw steps and then felt teeth on her tail. It was Felix. The alpha female let out a laugh and moved her paw to pull Felix towards her. "How did you sleep?" She asked the pup as she started to flatten the fir on his head.

  • Felix was still stubbornly holding on to her tail when he was dragged, but let go after a second or two, turning all his attention on to Aura. He scroffed in displeasure over the grooming, unable to yet see why it was necessary, but he didn't protest further than that, trusting that she knew what she was doing. She was after all leading a pack of dogs.

"I slept well! What're we going to do today?" The German shepherd pup answered her with a grin and licked her nose affectionately, before his attention again was mislead and he watched all the different dogs do whatever they were doing, trying to figure out which one would possibly be interested in playing with him. Once again Felix realized where he was and turned his attention back to aura, large ears perked and head tilted as his tail swished happily behind him.

  • Name: Wayland
    Rank: Beta male
    Gender: male
    Other info: laid-back, southern rottbrador.

Rolph was not surprised, but a little unhappy to find that some erosion and ruin at the top was about to collapse one of the nearby tunnels- the only thing holding it up was a rusted and leaking pipe. There was a 50/50 chance that the collapse would fill itself and not require another barrier, but it was dangerous, and with pups around, tragedy could strike. The quiet Jamthund headed back to find Aura or Nova and inform them about the problem. He came across Nova first, and Aura seemed to be playing with Felix, so he approached her,

"Down that way, a weak tunnel. We might need to reinforce it or block it off altogether." His deep and very husky voice quietly said.

Shrugging Honey looked off toward where the spotted dog had been or had gone before turning back to the medic dog and sitting down,

"Well, not especially well. He's fairly quiet and a bit reserved, a lot like Rolph. I don't mind, I mean, still talks more than Goliath, but I tend to leave them be. I'm the type that'd come off as annoying to the more introverted types, the social butterfly that I am." She laughed, "he seems nice enough and I'm glad he's here though." Honey usually tried to gauge other dogs' personalities before delving into a relationship. She could get along with anyone, sure, if she really wanted, but her personality as well as her head were strong- her opinions were hard and her beliefs were steady, she might be called inflexible sometimes. If she thought she'd bring out anything negative in anyone else, she'd learned to keep to herself and be polite. One thing she didn't like was conflict- cohesion was her bread and butter.

With a weird and unsightly snort, Goliath's own weird breathing surprised him awake and he rolled over like a flipped pancake, still to groggy to see and snapped at himself. Bliking and raising his eyebrows to try and focus, he yawned and shook his head. He ought to do something before he fell asleep again and just ended up being the very definition of 'dead weight'. For now, he ought to see if anyone needed anything. That said, he saw Mason nearby and headed over to him- he might know of something. Coming to sit before him he puffed out his chest and looked at him seriously, raising his floppy ears and eyebrows in question.

    I am here to help.

  • (The third one is my favorite, I was think maybe the part of the train that is sideways and pointed towards the top is the secret way in and out. But no one uses it unless in an emergency or that could be the entrance they use? What do you guys think?

    And wayland is accepted!)

    Mate: None Pups: None
Mason was trying to figure out what to block the holes with when Goliath walked up. "hello, um wanna help me find things to reinforce these holes with?" Mason asked.

Mate: None Heat: In Pups: None
Aura chuckled, "Well it'll be daylight soon and you should start to learn your stalking. Maybe we can practice it..." her gaze shifted when Rolph spoke. She followed where he was speaking of. "We should check it out from the outside, maybe we will be able to reinforce it from the outside?" She wasn't to sure, but Rolph was a wise dog.

  • Felix, unable to contain his curiosity, couldn't help but follow when a tiny mouse squeaked and ran away. Trying to stalk but failing, he followed the mouse, and didn't notice when he ended up outside. But once he did, his ears flattened against his skull and his chocolate orbs widened, and by the sound of a nearby stalker he scurried into a cardboard box, tail tucked between his legs, the small German shepherd pup not making a sound. He would wait for the sounds of the stalker to go back, but now he didn't dare move in case it noticed him, despite it being quite far away. This would be an important lesson for him to have learnt.

  • ((:Thanks, and okay, sounds good. I could find some more tunnel or otherwise underground pictures if necessary[theres a ton of them especially in 3D that people have rendered for one vidya or another, and that sounds fine to me as a plan. The regular entrance could be a just-big-enough opening in a bunch of collapsed, but tightly packed rubble on top of the stairs that are sort of blocked by that almost-vertical subway car if you'd like:))

Flicking his ear toward her voice, Rolph turned from Nova to listen to Aura speak. He nodded to her and looked back between the alpha female and the beta as he spoke, so as to show them both respect,

"A check of the outside is prudent. Also a guard inside to be sure no one goes in and gets hurt in case something goes wrong. We'll need materials to fix it if a fix is possible or to block it off it it is not. Seeing the extend from both sides should give us a plan. I will show you both where the inner damage is worst, then, with your blessing, we will check the outside for the full scope and form a party to gather materials if neccessary. It may still be daylight but I pity anyone who goes out alone for anything."

Goliath nodded with a smile- he'd love to go and help gather things. He was bred for cold and water, but that didn't mean he didn't like to tow. There were plenty of makeshift sleds out there- signs with wire still attached, tires on rope, actual sleds- and he was big and strong so it was easier for him than it was for a lot of other dogs. He could pull twice as much as some with ease. For now, he got up and let his tail swing low, waiting to be led to wherever it was Mason planned on going.

Returning to the outside from his own den, Wayland was glad to see just about everyone up and around. There had been a hunt already, and though food was low, it would be a bit forceful to send them back out for another one again. For now, he just took attendence.

"Hm," he thought to himself, approaching Aura while nodding to Nova and Rolph who she seemed to be talking too, "Ya'll seen Felix 'r Askaban? Ain't they usually up by now?"

  • Askaban heard tiny foot steps behind him at the same time he heard an infected off to his right. The bohemian Shepherd stopped his hunt and straightened up, growling. He kept on alert as he slowly walked over to the cardboard box, finding Felix. "Pup, what are you doing?" He growled protectively, even though Felix wasn't his. The stalker noise grew closer and Askaban looked back at the road ahead of him, locating the beast in the shadows. "Stay here, okay?" He could only think to trap and kill the stalker but he had to make sure Felix would stay put.

Maddy smiled at Honey, looking at the other pack members, "I mean, Shiloh likes talking, just only when he finds someone that will listen..." A look of concern crossed the dog's face and she sighed, "I'm not sure if this is exactly a great time to be mating. Felix is struggling enough and he can walk." She really wasn't sure pups were a good idea, not even mates. Sure the female wanted one and some pups of her own, but never did she think to have them in this condition. "You have your eyes on anyone though?" Maddy was obviously more interested in Honey's life than her own.

  • //Sorry I haven't been posting ^^ I'm going to be busy with school stuff this week, but I'll try and post tomorrow. I've just been more tired than usually these past couple days.

  • OOC: Okay Lyn. Thank you for letting me know! Hope to see a replay tomorrow, if not I understand!

    Mate: None Pups: None
Mason nodded and turned when he heard Aura going frantic. That pup was a Pawful. He didn't know how she could deal with him.

Mate: None Heat: In Pups: None
Aura nodded to Rolph, "Great idea, Mason can stay an-..." she stopped at the mention of her adopted son. She looked to where she had left him and was very frantic when he wasn't there. The alpha moved trying to sniff out where he'd gone. "Did anyone see where he went??" She called. The musky scent in the subway made it hard to detect Felix's Scent. "Felix?!? Where are you??" She called out looking inside the train car.

  • Felix whined but nodded ever so slightly, ears pressed flat against his skull. He was terrified, small body shaking, as he had only been outside the train a few times with Aura or someone else, other than that one time he got lost from his mother and wandered around alone until the group found him. He gathered up the courage to peek his head out, chocolate brown eyes scanning the area nervously before he tucked himself back into the box.

  • Returning the nod he was given when Wayland approached, Rolph took a step back while the beta male spoke to the alpha female. Where had Askaban and Felix gone. Askaban would never take Aura's pup out without permission, he was sure, though Askaban would very likely go out himself. Would the pup still be inside somewhere or might he have wandered out after the older dog? First things first, he began sniffing around. The scents were very obstructed and he was no bloodhound, but if he could sort even a little bit of it out... hopefully he hadn't gone toward the dilapitated tunnel.

Listening to Maddy with quiet attention, Honey finally answered with a shake of her own head,

"Nah, I don't." she said plainly. It wasn't that she was particularly picky or had her heart set on someone or some type in particular, but she didn't posses the same drive to bear young as Maddy seemed to. Sure, she went into heat like any other mammal, and it created a certain physical need, but outside that Honey wasn't focusing on that. She wouldn't mind if she ended up with a litter, nor would she fight it if she met someone she liked, but it wasn't something she'd come across thus far. Still, the dog did posses her opinions,

"Anyway, I don't think you should let yourself be deturred from the right now. I mean when will it be a good time really? And Felix has Aura anyway, I don't really think he could have any bearings on you and your life or your family. Besides, where could be a better place to have pups in this world? Other dogs are out there alone with no shelter and watching their own backs and they manage somehow. You've got protection and a pack. You should do what you wa-" She began just as Aura became frantic. Honey looked over, trying to see what was going on, but got up and looking too.

    "Felix?" she called.

Goliath turned, when Mason did, to see Aura worried over her adopted pup. Oh no, not Felix. It was daylight but that didn't mean the danger disappeared. Besides the stalkers were bears and badgers, hawks and eagles, crumbling buildings, poisoned water, and all manner of other dire mishaps waiting to befall the unwary or unknowing. He got up and headed toward the entrance- the barrier was open, and much wider than a pup would have been able to or even needed for it to be. WIthout a bark, or words, he had to act somewhat like dogs used to with humans. He ran to the group, and jumped toward the door a few hops, turning and doing so again and again.

"I think Goliath's right." Wayland turned to the other ranking members, "Or at least that he's got a pretty good chance o' bein' right. We should split up. Half o' us stay here and scour the tunnels- maybe he just went rootin' around somewhere in here. So small he might'a just fallen asleep somewhere or crawled in some nook or cranny. The other half'll head outside and see if we can find any scents or tracks. Askaban's prob'ly out there, he might'a seen somethin'." He presented his plan to Aura, not only the alpha but the most worried in this situation.

  • Askaban barked, causing the infected to look up. It snarled, charging at the Shepherd. Askaban jumped, leaping over the infected, saving enough room to grab it by the neck and fling it on the ground. The only pro to fighting these things was their light weight made it easy to break them. He flung it hard enough to snap the neck, paralysing it. Summoning all his strength, he kept into the air, pushing his paws into it's skull, crushing the rotting head, killing it. Askaban, breathing a little heavy, trotted back over to Felix, lifting him out of the box by his scruff, like a parent would. "Let's get you back."

Maddy realized Felix was the cause of panic, and she too began to panic. "Felix?" She barked, sniffing the ground, searching for a scent. The mutt knew how much Felix meant to Aura, so she decided to use the only good thing about her... Maddy's sense of smell. She caught Felix's scent, along with a rats and followed it to a small hole, leading to the surface. "He went out here." Maddy called to the rest of the pack. "Askaban is out there... So is an infected... I dont know who is with who..." Maddy grew nerinteraction-

    text here

Mate: None Heat: In Pups: None
Aura pricked her ears as she heard Maddy call to them. She quickly followed the trail. She came to Askaban carrying Felix. "Oh my! Are you two alright?!!" She called out and motioned for the mm to enter the subway. Her heart racing as she sniffed to two up and down. "Felix what were you thinking? Your lucky Askaban was following you." She barked.

  • It seemed the situation had resolved itself rather easily. Rolph could hear what was happening, and decided to go back to what he had been doing before. He went and had another look at the tunnel- no further damage than what he'd seen shortly before. Now though, he walked around, looking for what would be the best way to reinforce this problem. The fact was- with the tunnel so high and the damage so extensive, a controlled collapse might actually be the best idea. Perhaps go up top and throw things on top of it, get the collapse to work on just this bit and close itself up and block it off? He sniffed around, thinking more on it and trying to figure the safest way to accomplish the task.

Honey turned when Aura returned with Felix and relaxed. Everyone was okay, no damage done, nothing had happened. Well, that was good. Now that it was over though she stretched and yawned, her tail wagging on her back a bit but slowing to a stop as she turned smelling the stalker on them. She headed back over to the door at a trot and closed it up seeing as it had been left open. Best not to tempt fate.

Looks like it was handled. Goliath calmed, stopped jumping around- Maddy had got them to follow and the situation was quickly resolved. Must be nice to be able to use your voice. Oh well, no use dwelling on that again. The giant brute sat back and scratched his ear. He didn't want to be around while Felix got his talking too, so he trotted off, looking for someone to interact with or be near.

Wayland sat down now- everything had been tied up within minutes. Good. The longer the pup would have been out there the more dire the situation would have become. Even besides him, someone could have been hurt trying to find him and they might have run into even more danger and heaven knows what else. Well, he supposed everyone could go back to relaxing now. Aura would be sure to warn him against doing this kind of thing again, so there was no reason for Wayland to intervene, so he didn't and took attendance again. Seemed everyone was present and accounted for now.

  • Askaba shrugged, "actually the little one is lucky i heard his tiny paws on the cement, or he'd be infected with the rest of them. I was out hunting." He looked down at his bloody paws, shaking his head. "Keep his close, I won't always be the one out there hunting. And for you..." He looked at Felix, "hunt something down here. Heard it away from an exit, not towards it." He smiled, nodding to the pup.

Maddy was relieved when Askaban returned with the pup. Almost everyone was protective of the little one, Maddy included. She trotted over to a bench and laid down, relaxing a bit.

Sure Shiloh heard the commotion, but he knew the pup was taken care of, so he didn't intervene. The Dalmatian stood and stretched, think about saying hello to a female. Then he realized he didn't have anything worth saying, so he simply walked over by Maddy's bench and sat down.
