  • On the stone ground of his prison cell, drenched in his own blood and trembling from the cold and agony pulsing through him, the youngest of the former King crawled forwards. The combat of his eldest brother and the abomination birthed of his own blood rung painfully through his pulsing head. Shaking hands settled atop the smooth black metal of the rifle. He'd seen the others use it before, it was rather straight forwards...but he'd have to be careful with the fledgeling so close.
Duncan sneered in her face, hands lashing up to grab at her wrist tightly, "Try it, you dirty, inbreeding wh*re." He snarled, gasping for what breath he could manage, "It'll be...the last th...ing...y...you do..." Mina had been with Violet before? Duncan knew that tone of voice, and where such a tone could only come from. "You're repulsive." He snarled.
lukas shuddered out a breath, and pulled the trigger twice, aiming towards Violet's side.

Dietrich hissed as one blade plunged into his shoulder, his cane whirling about to slam into the side of Valquise's head to knock the younger away from himself. The paired dagger was parried swiftly with the silver rapier, and the shadestepper was forced a foot or so from his opponent, "Val, what are you talking about?! You had your chance! You can leave whence you wish!"

  • "Then you are the fool here Dietrich" Valquise breathed out, straightening his steps and lashing out once more with his free dagger. Once he were close enough to the man his eyes went from scarlet to their normal sky blue "I never wanted this, but someone had to keep her from doing too much harm. She being the only one to ever show kindness my way... guess I fell into the black widows trap. Made things easier if you all hated me for being with her." he growled out "So I did what none of you would, I stayed by her side, kept her company... in more ways than one... and I fell into that trap that befall all men like me..." he muttered, the opening there for Dietrich to do as he pleased, whether that be drive his blade through his heart of let him go.

"That may be so, but you'll be dea-" Violet were cut off as the rifle shots landed their mark, a scream leaving her lips as she immediately dropped Duncan and fell back, eyes wide as they stared at Lukas, not having realized he were moving and had taken the weapon into his hands. "You f*cking mutt! F*cking die already!" she snarled, lashing out towards him, only she never reached her mark, instead a hand ripping through her chest from the back, hand holding a beating heart from the front, her violet gaze staring down at it in shock and in comprehension. Then all life left her eyes, heart being squeezed in the palm of Mathius, Darius laying lifeless off to the side outside the cell. The elder said nothing as he ripped his hand from her chest, he taking hold of her and driving his fangs into her neck, the wounds about his body starting to heal as he drank every last drop, looking much different from the kind man they all knew and much more like the monster the packs associated him with.

  • Duncan staggered back, clutching his throat and staring in mute terror at the rage stricken King before him. He remembered the nightmares of elders gone rabid, or insane or simply crippled with bloodlust. The fledgeling retreated out of the cell, lingering in the hall and staring in horror at the leader he had looked up to and fallen quite far for, "M- Mathius?" He ventured timidly in the gloom, words shaking with apprehension and quite blatant fear.
While Duncan could see past the monster, the tortured Lukas could not. Those scarlet eyes became Violet's and with a strangled moan of despair the hybrid pushed himself away from the raging King to take shelter in the corner. Blood stained nearly every inch of his body, the cuts on his wrists and throat still drip, drip, dripping onto the stone. For one moment of horrified paranoia, Lukas looked into his brother's eyes and wondered if it had all been an elaborate scheme. If he wanted his blood just as much as the others. The moment did not leave. Lukas stared, his breathing quickening and his heart speeding dangerously in his chest as terror and the urge to survive overtook everything. Tears of pain and delusional revelation fogged his sight, and the horribly weakened hybrid shut his eyes tightly in preparation for an end.

Dietrich had been taught to value every opening with deadly accuracy. Now was no different.his left arm shot out, the cane colliding with his younger sibling's head. He was swift to get to work, calling to his men swiftly to evacuate the man from the premises. No doubt Mathius would do his best to kill him. For now...the third son would not allow that to happen.

  • Mathius let out a shuddering breath, snapping fully out of his blood filled trance when he heard Duncan call him and the look of fear in his little brothers' gaze. His eyes were wide and soon lost their scarlet shade as he looked down in shock at Violet in his arms, the man going into shock at the realization of what he had done, the battle with the mutated lycan throwing him into a frenzy that had not broken until their reactions were clear as day. "I-I'm sorry... I-I don't k-know what c-came o-over me..." he breathed out between shuddering breaths, looking over to Duncan and then down at himself, realizing he were drenched in the blood of Darius and Violet alike, he setting the woman down gently about the floor and reaching up, fingers laying over her lids and closing them as softly as he could. He may have disliked his sister and thought her vile, but she were still his sister, and he loved her like family should. The elder turned his gaze onto Lukas then and took gentle steps forward "Luka... L-lukas it's m-me" he murmured, that stutter from childhood long ago coming back, a stutter that his father had beaten out of him but now only came through when he showed fear and nervousness.
Katherine looked at the elder vampire in complete and utter fear, back pressed against the wall of the cell as she rubbed at her bruised throat, eyes wide on the interaction between the King of vampires and the hybrid looking at him with complete and utter fear. Her gaze drifted to Duncan and wondered if they were like Violets' coven, wondered if she had fallen out of the pack only to be taken by a coven that wanted to use her like they did.

  • Lukas arched his spine aggressively, and pressed against the wall with each step forwards. Yellow eyes bulged with blind terror seeing not one bit of reality and instead engulfed in traumatic horror. The hybrid scrambled out of his corner, leg dragging uselessly behind him as he sought shelter instead against the bars, letting out a guttural snarl Mathius' way. The Wolf was pounding on the walls of his mind, but there just wasn't enough...anything to Shift. He was tired and weak and he wanted everyone and everything to just GET AWAY! Lukas gazed up at the eldest, trying to drown the anxiety stirring deeply in his chest but finding it ingrained in every fiber of his being. "Don't..." He begged quietly.

"Sire..." Duncan spoke uneasily at the situation, "Perhaps..." He cleared his throat and steadied his motions, "Perhaps it would be best to let him alone for a bit. At least until he's looked at by healers. I haven't a doubt he's been through some trying times." The fledgeling looked to Katherine slumped against the wall, "You there, can you calm him down? We'll get our healers down here and... We'll take it from there." Duncan offered a hand to Mathius, "I really...think it's better if we leave them alone for awhile."

  • Mathius took a step back at the fear that was clear in his brother gaze, the scent of blood in the air making the elder shake as he nodded his head in agreement with Duncan, taking a few more steps back before turning to join the fledgling, ignoring the heartache in his chest as best he could. The fear of a sibling was the most heart breaking of them all, and now the King felt like a real monster now, like he could never regain his siblings trust after this. "T-thank you Duncan... a-and I-I am t-truly s-sorry..." he muttered out, biting the inside of his cheek with anger at his stuttering, something that he had been beaten into viewing as a weakness, but one that his mother had found so endearing. The elder didn't know what to expect of the fledgling, whether he would run from the monster he showed himself to be or if he would see past the gore and anger and see that he were still the same person with too many flaws to count.
Katherine nodded her head shakily, getting to her feet the moment the two were out of the cell and making her way over to Lukas on quiet footsteps, taking hold of the blanket discarded on the floor and bringing it over to the hybrid, pressing it gently over the open cuts that Violet had caused. "So your name is Lukas then?" she murmured softly, keeping her tone soothing and actions soft so as to not startle him into more fear. Obviously the display of the leader of the covens had not only startled her, but she could see that it had utterly bewildered the man before her.

  • "No need to thank me, just keep moving alright? We'll get him back to the manor and I'm sure everything will calm down once he's safe." Duncan soothed carefully, "Stop biting the inside of your cheek." He scolded lightly, squeezing his King's hand slightly before leading him up the stairs and out into the night, "Just breathe and take what time you need." The fledgeling was never good with comforting, finding himself repeating what he'd already said slowly and carefully. "I don't have anything on me to clean you off so you'll have to deal with the blood for now, but don't worry about it." Duncan wouldn't act like he wasn't startled by the display, being left with nothing but rage inside of you was a chillingly horrid feeling. One that he'd felt before time and time again. He glanced over as Minerva brushed past and vanished into the darkness.

Lukas nodded warily, watching Mathius and his fledgeling retreat up the stairs. "I'd like... I'd want to get out of here." The clicking resounding through the dungeons reminded him of Violet's steps, but the woman approaching was most certainly not his sister. Her brown hair was streaked with grey and white, and kind wrinkles covered her features.
"Hello darlings." Minerva greeted gently, "My name is Minerva, Lukas we met once earlier whence you were settling into your room. And who are you sweet thing?"

  • Mathius dipped his head in understanding, listening to the words of the Fledgling closely and keeping his mind focused on that instead of on his brother back down in the basement. Once they made it outside of the compound like mansion, he saw just exactly what had gone down, the ground littered with the bodies of lycans and vampires alike "D-duncan, you r-really are n-no g-good at c-comforting, y-you know that?" he muttered, trying for a teasing tone as he made his way towards the black vans waiting just at the entrance, feeling and hearing those around him stay out of their way and dealing with the cleanup of the mess, no doubt their activities of the night drawing the attention of humans who were nearby the secluded area.
Mina came hurrying up then, the sight of their King covered in blood a shock to the woman, but her steps faltered when he held up a hand to her, a signal for her to leave him be for the the moment. She dipped her head to him and then Duncan, holding her gaze with the fledgling for a moment, a silent plea for him to stay with the elder while he were like this. Quickly she stepped out of the way and made her way inside the compound to have a look around and assess the mess.

Katherine nodded, trying for a smile to the hybrid but it coming out more of a terrified grimace as she held on tightly to where she were pressing the blanket to his wounds. She were about to say something but the sound of clicking heals approaching them caught her attention and she turned to see Minerva, blinking a few times at the kind face that met her and the sweetness in her voice as she spoke. Once her attention were on her though, she almost couldn't find her words "K-Katherine ma'am..." she breathed out in a soft murmur, not able to pull her gaze away from her.

  • "Katherine. A lovely name, you needn't worry with the pleasantries, little one. Can you stand? I'm not as strong as the others, and Lukas here needs serious medical attention right away. You'll have to help carry him." Minerva eased herself close to the hybrid, not so much as flinching when he snarled defensively, "Easy, darling." She crooned, "Easy." Her hand looped around his shoulder and supported half his weight, "Katherine darling if you could. There are cars waiting outside. One will take you to your family if you've any, the others are set to return to our manor." Minerva looked her over with concern, "Unless you'd rather receive attention and then return?"

"Ah yes, everyone's a critic these days." Duncan soothingly taunted back in agreement, nodding slowly at Mina as he continued onwards, keeping his gentle grip on his King, "Now let's get you off your feet, alright?" He eased back into the van and forced the back seat further away to offer what legroom he could, folding down the third row of seats, "Lay down if you want." He suggested, settling easily between the gap of the two rows of seats and flashing a grin Mathius' way, "We'll meet them back at the manor."

"You, you're Mina right?" Brilliant red hair stuck like a beacon out of the bushes, and the sniper from prior stumbled out with a bewildered expression, "I... Look Dietrich and his men have all gone and I'm still here which- which I know might seem weird and suspicious but it's not, look I promise this is...." The sniper thought for a long moment, slinging her rifle over her shoulder and staring into space, "That sounded bad, alright..." Malia breathed out and reigned in her scattered thoughts, "What I mean to say is I hid from them, I-... I wanted to talk to you, just for a bit."

  • Katherine paused for a moment, blinking at the woman before her. She quickly snapped out of it though at the snarl that left the hybrid and jumped to his side, putting her arm under his other shoulder and helping with the distribution of his weight. The question the woman asked next gave her pause "I... may I join you? At least to have my neck looked at..." she murmured sheepishly, not wanting to admit that she had no family to speak of that would take her in. "My family... well, they're dead up on the floor up there" she muttered, pointing her head up in signal to that she meant the pack.

Mathius chuckled under his breath before climbing into the van, settling into the back seats and breathing out sigh of relief as he settled into the cushions, the ache in his body starting to pull through the numbness that had overtaken him after the shock of what he had done. "Thank you Duncan... and right you are..." he muttered, pinching at his temple as a headache started coming on "And I do believe that a healer will have to have a look at me after everything has settled... I don't know if those claws of his did anything to me... i feel fine, but i don't trust it" he admitted wearily, offering a small grin tot he fledgling "And I am sorry if I scared you down there... can't really blame you."

Mina jumped, startled by the sudden appearance of the young woman. Turning on her heal quickly to face her, she tilted her head in subtle surprise "Yes, I'm Mina." she murmured, listening to her explain and catching on to what she meant, tapping a finger on her forearm as she crossed them over her chest. "Why would you want to talk to me Malia?" she questioned in a soft tone, making sure that no one was around them to see or overhear them.

  • "Of course, little one. Of course." Minerva agreed with a smile, wincing as a sharp tone of pain left Lukas' throat, his useless leg dragging behind him, "We're almost there Lukas. It's alright. Just a bit further." Each step was agony for the hybrid, leaving him whining and emitting strangled cries of pain and discomfort. The pain was too much, and Lukas found himself unconscious as they approached their vehicle. "It's just a short ride." Minerva assured, settling the hybrid down gently in the back of the car, his features grey and marred with bruising and shadows of tortured fear.

"Just for a few seconds...I've...seen something like that before. I know..." Duncan hesitated for a moment, "I know it wasn't really you, don't worry about it." The fledgeling felt his features stretch into the most sincere smile he'd given in centuries, "Althugh, if I must say sire-" he leaned forwards and whispered in the ear of the King, his breath rustling against the gently flesh there, "Your stutter was amazingly cute." Duncan flushed as he slumped back down, smiling all the way through the gloom of the van.

Malia shifted uncomfortably, fiddling with her rifle and struggling for words, "I don't...want to go back with Dietrich, but I know I won't have a choice for awhile and... What's your coven like?" The familiar finally forced out in an unsure tone, "I've just heard so much for so other people and...I just don't know where to go."

  • Katherine dipped her head to the woman thankfully, taking it slow with her to get Lukas towards the van waiting out front that had pulled up with healers at the ready inside. Gently others came forward and helped to settle the hybrid inside, removing the blanket from his wounds and instead starting to stitch them up immediately to stop the blood flow, packing them up and trying their best to keep him alive, one at the ready with a finger pressed to his jugular to keep track of his pulse. Katherine glanced to Minerva with a slightly frightened expression "Miss Minerva... I have to admit to you that I don't have anywhere to go..." she murmured sheepishly.

"i'm glad to hear that... I feared I had scared you off as well..." Mathius murmured with a weary sigh, shaking his head and pressing a hand to his temple. When the fledgling pressed a bit closer for a moment, the elder shivered at the whisper against his ear and the closeness of him, a flush coming over his cheeks as he stared at the man in shock "I-I.... why y-you..." he grumbled half heartedly, face shining pink in embarrassment "I rarely stutter anymore..." he muttered admittedly, feeling quite the fool and ashamed at the fact that his stutter seamed to be back for the moment, it rising back up in his flustered state at the light teasing words of the man.

Mina furrowed her brows with concern at the words of the young woman before her, taking a few steps towards her "Our coven is quite accepting and kind" she murmured "We treat our familiars with respect and abide by the law that if one is killed by our own that the accused shall be punished with death themselves. We take in anyone willing." she explained in a soft tone. "Malia, if you want to leave Dietrichs' coven, then you are free to do so. But may I ask why you want to?" she asked with a bit of hesitance, wondering if she were overstepping her bounds.

  • "I know, and it's such a shame." Duncan drawled teasingly, being jostled slightly as the van ran over a speed bump with a little too much acceleration. He settled on his knees, his forearms crossed before him and acting as a prop for his chin as he smiled up at his King, "As I've made quite clear it's not minded in the slightest. Hell, I wouldn't mind it if that came up more when we had our talks." It wasn't fair to the man before him but damn if he didn't look downright delectable with a little blush over his features. Plus, the flirting was distracting, something that Mathius desperately needed.

Minerva nodded slowly, "I understand." She replied easily, "That is the case with many familiars. There's plenty of room in our manor, and our Lukas seems to have grown quite fond of you. Mathius would likely not protest your presence, even if only temporarily." The caretaker reached forwards, gently settling her hand over Katherine's, "Not all of us are like those who held you. Some of us are...slightly more decent."

Malia bit her lip, tapping her foot as the activity bustled around them, a few vampires moving down to the dungeon to wash away what blood they could from the dungeon floors if their hoses were anything to judge by. "I'm a solider, I've always been a solider, but when I got...picked up... Dietrich's coven is different. Familiars are more of an...omega rank than valued companionship. Entertainment is not always a out of the question, and rarely is it voluntary."

  • Mathius hummed in thought at his words "I'll take note of that" he mused with a chuckle, leaning his head back into the cushion of the seat he were in "I'll remember that you like my stutter, among other things... like my hair, my eyes, and my lips" he teased with a knowing smirk down at the man, taking comfort in this teasing back and forth and realizing how well of a distraction it was coming up to be. That brought a weary thought of its own to his mind "Duncan, when we return and after I've washed up... would you mind if we had another chat?" he question softly "I've enjoyed getting to know you... even in this short a time."

Katherine hesitated at the touch of her hand before taking it with her own, nodding her head in mute understanding "Thank you... I don't mind offering my services either... I just don't like... I don't like being forced to give my blood." she mumbled out, looking up at the woman "If your coven is nothing like hers, and if it fights so vigorously for one of their own like this... then I think I would be glad to be there... even if for a little while." she murmured, trying for a soft smile that only lasted a few moments, emotion eating away at her as tears stung at her eyes now.

Mina caught on to her meaning rather quickly and felt that bubble of anger in the back of her mind, hand clenching and unclenching at her side. "I understand... know that you are always free in our coven and if you wish, you may call it home. But there are rules to this... ones that not even I could risk war with Dietrich over... but am rather willing to. What is the name of the one that took you, your master?" she asked softly, reaching forward and grasping her by the shoulder "And a soldier you are, I believe your shot is much better than even mine" she offered with a reassuring smile.

  • Malia was silent for a long while, shifting uncomfortably as she clawed through her memories and finally dragged a name into being, "Adam. I... I think the others called him Adam..." The prospect of war made her blood boil. A soldier she was but not happily, "If this brings trouble to you and yours I... I wouldn't dare impose. Dietrich was never keen on teaching his familiars the laws, we could always claim
ignorance in our actions then. Just another way he kept us as meat shields." Malia scuffed a heel against the stone, "I'm... Thank you, Mina."

"If it helps, imagine the manor as merely a roof to keep over your head at night, and a place that keeps food for you." Minerva soothed carefully, "It won't be forced upon you. Everything is voluntary, a tenant I was adamant about upon joining Mathius long ago." The caretaker smiled, shifting a bit closer, "Those marks on your neck, would it be alright if I began to treat them?"

Now it was Duncan's time to blush in the gloom of the car, "O- of course, sir. I'll have to check in with some of the warriors and see if the caretakers need help but I'll be along before dawn most likely... Where can I expect you to be?" He kept his voice low, despite the driver distracting himself with the radio and the gloom of the night reflecting on the street.

  • "no, no, no, don't worry about that. I only mean that in words, not action. Neither of the covens would risk war, not after tonight. As for this Adam, do you still associate with him or is he just the one that brought you into the coven?" Mina questioned lightly, keeping a soothing tone as she looked at the woman, gaze raking over her brilliant red hair "And no need to thank me, you are still welcome to come back with me, even if Dietrich comes knocking at our door to fetch you." she muttered with a scowl gracing her lips.

Katherine flushed pink at her assuring words and nodded, moving her hair away from her neck as the woman scooted closer "yes, please..." she mumbled out, quite the sheepish young woman when others addressed her, used to being left to the corners and keeping to herself. "So... what is your coven like miss Minerva?" she asked a bit hesitantly, brows furrowed as she looked up at her.

Mathius chuckled at the blush that now came over the man, the tables turning and causing a bit of amusement for the elder. "Do what you need to Duncan, I don't expect you to be at my every beck and call. I will be in my room, feel free to join me when you have a moment." he mused, winking at the fledgling and glancing up in the rearview mirror at the driver.

  • Lukas had been settled in his room, now fast asleep with an IV eased into his left arm. Bandages scattered his body, one could hardly glance at him without spotting one peering out of his clothing. Everything was stable...but Minerva had expressed her clear concern for the dangerous loss of blood, and the very obvious lack of a donor. Some of the healers were working on a mixture to serve as a replacement, but the process was slow. Lukas twitched in his sleep, muffled moans and cries of terror lashing through his room. Trembling digits twisted into the dark brown duvet, and his eyes shut tightly as his own mind assaulted him.

Duncan had been called from his path to Mathius' room time and time again, and had been embarrassed enough to have to ask for directions. It wasn't like he'd ever specifically assigned a location to such a...sensitive room, and hadn't found reason yet to linger in such an area. Now, the fledgeling was ascending the stairs, his stomach churning in uncertainty. Mathius had said time and time again that he enjoyed the flirting, but maybe this meeting was just to keep it light and casual? It wasn't going anywhere. That Duncan was just a port in a storm until he found something more suitable. That thought stuck like a knife amidst the torrent of chaos wracking his brain, until his hand raised and the fledgeling found enough courage to knock three times on the door, dropping his arm down and shoving his hands into his pocket. Dark jeans and a light blue button shirt had replaced his ravaged clothes from the battle.

Malia rested atop one of the black leather couches, her arms crossed over her chest and her eyes resting shut as she reigned in her panicking mind. She'd done it. She was free. For how long though? The familiar shuddered put a breath and opened her eyes to gaze about her, raking her hand through her wild bright red curls.

  • Katherine had busied herself with watching the healers work on Lukas, keeping a fair distance and fidgeting with her hands, pulling at loose strings of her tattered shirt, the woman much needing a shower and ignoring some of the words from others that tried to help her, refusing it at every turn. For some reason, she felt slightly attached to the hybrid now, not able to explain it to even herself. The problem of the loss of blood was clear in the conversation and the woman sought out Minerva in turn "miss Minerva... could I possibly help at all? I know that Lukas is a hybrid, but if that is so, then he should heal with having donor blood from a human to help heal his wound, just like a vampire does when they drink it. If I could.... I would be willing to offer up my own if it would help." she murmured in a sheepish tone, afraid she were overstepping her bounds.

Mathius paused at the knock at the door, dressed in jeans and a tight fitting shirt, towel over his shoulders from where he were drying his hair, the blood washed of his skin and wounds pretty much healed and those that had not were bandaged up. The elder was quick to open the door, offering a grin down to Duncan as he waved him in "Come in, Come in." he murmured, waving towards the small table in the corner of the room where a bottle of blood wine lay in the center with two glasses already filled. "I know it may not be appropriate for what has happened today... but I fear being near my brother right now would bring on more fear and I think it best to leave him be until he asks for me... if he will..." he admitted with a sheepish expression. The man honestly couldn't explain these feelings even to himself, that warmth that spread over him since the first night he took extended interest in Duncan, that night he stepped in to stop Dietrich. The fledgling may have reminded him of Lily, but there were details about him that were endearing and mesmerizing to the elder vampire.

After Mina had made sure that the warriors were attended to and the healers taking breaks, she were left with nothing more to do and feeling utterly exhausted after the nights events. The womans' emerald gaze caught sight of that bright right hair flowing over the arm of the couch and she couldn't help a small smile as she walked over to her "Have you been given a room yet?" she asked softly, stopping a few feet away from her and holding a hand at her hip and another at her stomach. "If not, I can show you to an empty one if you would like, make it yours if you wish." she offered, offering a sweet smile and a tilt of her head at the familiar.

  • Minerva looked up haggard with lingering exhaustion and eyeing the familiar with clear concern, "It could...help... We can give you a blood transfusion afterwards, assuming your blood type is in some of the blood cases." The caretaker ushered her over to the table and retrieved out of a black duffel bag a needle and extracting bag, "Just like at the hospitals for blood tests. I'll only take what we need, and I'm sure Mathius will thank you."

Malia jumped slightly at the approach, "Oh, Erm... No I wasn't aware that there were...rooms set aside for familiars." She straightened up from the couch and smiled thankfully at Mina, "I... I would be grateful if you would be so kind as to do that." The sniper examined the ceiling and walls with a crooked grin, "I... It's beautiful in here. I was only here twice before, for the last gal and the one twice before that."

Duncan looked up to the taller vampire, offering a comforting smile at his king, "Give it time, he'll let you in as soon as he wakes up I'm sure." The fledgeling assured what he could, "You don't know what he went through, and just look at where he was and who was holding him. The shock of...everything was probably just taking its toll on him." Duncan wandered over to the table, smiling slightly at the romantic setting Mathius had set up, "Good taste." He remarked easily, trying to settle some of the tension emanating from the monarch.

  • Katherine nodded in understanding "I'm AB+, it should be alright" she murmured, offering up a smile as she went over to the woman and took a seat across from her to make it easier, gaze widening at the sight of the needle and biting her bottom lip to keep the fear of it down. "Miss Minerva, you really should get some rest." she added softly, seeing how exhausted the woman looked and peering up at her "You look rather tired, no offense, and I think some sleep after such a night would do us all good." she paused then, a flush coming over her cheeks "I apologize if I am speaking out of term... I do that often... the pack never really liked it."

"Of course we do, did Dietrich not provide rooms for the familiars of his coven?" Mina asked curiously with a bewildered expression, motioning for her to follow her "We provide rooms for each of our familiars, even those bonded and claimed by one of our own, just in case... a falling out happens. It's not a common occurrence around here, bus still." she admitted with a slight shrug of her shoulders, leading her out of the room and down a series of hallways. After a few moments she stopped before a door at the end of the hallway, it close to the door that lead out to the greenhouse at the back of the mansion, the barrier put up at that moment. She reached into her pocket and procured a key, unlocking the door and then holding it out to the girl "Hold on to that, it's one of two, the other stays in Mathius' office." she explained, stepping into the room that was rather grand in the eyes of many that would not be used to it, but simple to the elder vampire as she motioned inside, a queen sized bed in the middle with satin and silk sheets, lace curtains at the windows that were currently covered, a wardrobe off to the left with an adjoined bathroom past that, and then to the left next to the larger windows was a small table and two chairs for guests "If you wish to have some light in, there's a button off to the side of the window that will override the barrier and lift it up for you, just please make sure there are no vampires inside if you choose to do so."

Mathius chuckled under her breath at the comment of the wine and the rather romantic aura of the room that had not been intentional at first "I like to think so" he mused, running a hand over his slightly still damp hair, removing the towel and setting it on the back of the chair. "And you're right, I'm just the big brother worried over his younger sibling" he muttered with a quirk of the corner of his lips upward. "I saw you stand up to Violet today... have to admit I was rather impressed with the display" he started, rather awkward as to how to even begin a conversation with the tension clear int he air, what kind he couldn't quite place as he took a glass and filled it, doing the same for the adjacent one and taking a sip of his own glass with slight relief. "So, do you mind my asking you a bit about your past? Could make a game of it of sorts, I ask you one question and you ask me one? Have to answer." he mused with a mirthful look in his eyes.
