My ideas && opinions on how to improve the ext. game.

    i actually really liked the shop, it was really a motivator to rp more, though it was abused a lot.

    Oh no, it's okay! You're not rude at all! Why was it removed? It sounds like it would be the perfect solution to the problem! A compromise in the middle!

    I believe that the shop should return. Powers, extremely large bodies and maybe other things should be earned and purchased for hm... the points? I'd prefer that over everyone having powers.

    i want to argue, to say anything but at this point i'm just burnt out and depressed and anything i say to you at right now feels like it would just be thrown back in my face. thank you, you're making the experience with ff a living nightmare.

    asyli don't take this the wrong way but i think if you feel personally attacked and offended by things that are not attacking you, you need to take a step away from the site. have a break. calm down. i say this with your best interests in mind- there's no need to get offended over something you shouldn't.


    anyway. i think this entire thread got out of hand- but honestly as much as i think people went about it the wrong way they're still bringing up valid points. staff are there to help things run smoothly, which is not happening in the ext game. you say that members should report the op characters but isn't that basically what they're doing? they're not directly attacking any character, since that would be rude, but they're bringing to attention that these problems exist.


    and you guys are silencing them. this is counterproductive, and not very helpful. even if the opinion comes across as rude, it's still an opinion. you might not agree with it, and that's fine, but that doesn't give people the right to silence them and call them 'toxic' or that they're directly 'attacking staff'. that's not what's happening here. they're disagreeing with staff. which, in a society, is completely okay to do so. whether they are in the right or wrong with approach, they still have a right to be heard. after all, if somebody stopped you expressing your opinion on how you love the way the game's set up now, you'd feel angry as well.


    i also think we should realise that we are all individuals; we are all going to have different experiences with role playing. some people here would say that they don't see any issues with the ext game, and their time in the game has been mostly positive. but there's people on the other side of the spectrum too, who have had bad experiences and want to share them to prevent other people from having the same bad experience.


    one last thing; like anna said, there have been negative members on the thread but that doesn't make their suggestions or complaints 'negativity'. it's wrong and unfair to label it as that- the only thing negative is their attitude. their points are them trying to make a difference to help a site they clearly care about. that's not negativity, that's honesty.

    Well as I have stated on who knows what page the shop was mainly taken down because of spamming. Also having others limit their creativity based on a number of posts in simply what feralfront is not about. All members should have a choice what they want for their character.

    okay i'm just gonna start out by saying that i did not in any way mean to attack anyone personally about their characters, and i'm sorry that you even felt that way. i know everyone puts so much effort into their characters and love them so much (for example asyli ur characters always rock like damn) so i'm not trying to attack anyone personally at all.


    but i do agree that simply ignoring op characters won't help anything. it's like saying if you have a problem with something you should just ignore it. sure, that's the simpler and easiest way to solve or avoid things, but it really can just cause more issues. honestly if people started ignoring my characters and didn't interact with them i'd be really upset; anyone would. so rather than trying to sweep the issue under the rug as we've done with so many issues in the past we should just try to solve it together somehow.


    yes staff can't do everything and it's up to the members as well, but they need to work together to do things. imo bringing back a shop like system seems to be a good solution. sure it was abused before in the past but we can put in new restrictions and rules and such regarding it.

    Regina, there was a shop before all these changeovers, but that didn't solve OP-ness. People who had the time to post frequently, did, and thus got more currency to buy more powers, which wasn't always used to develop a character. The problem here, I think, is not really about the OP-ness, but that people don't often use powers for developing characters. There was OP characters with the shop and without. A shop didn't fix OP characters, and reimplementing it won't solve the problem.


    I think we need to stop worrying so much about characters who have a lot of powers (which will happen no matter what unless we change the entire ext game and make it more trad), but rather those who don't use those powers for good reasons/for development. I think that's the issue with powers here--that there seems to be no solid, good reason for having them, beyond simply to be strong. Not all people use them in this way, of course, but those who do cause the problem of OP-ness. I once had a character who was planning to spy with someone else, and they were discussing plans before heading into the camp--and a character from that clan overheard them. Which basically ruined the entire spying mission before it even began. That's the big problem here, not people who use powers to actually further development.

    The thread could be locked or it could continue, either way the same result will come out of it, nothing will change. Frustration will build, and you will see the bubble burst as it had many times in the past two years. Members cannot fix everything on their own as they are expected to, it seems that nothing will change and this thread was a giant waste of everyones time.


    And I'm with ya Asyli I'm depressed and burnt out too, 'cause something could be helped an people could work together, but thats never going to happen and that just hits ya hard in the depression feels.

    Though, "the number of posts" was not the only way to get FK/silver


    And there are other boards, for if you are not able to rp in the main game, you could do in side boards.

    Powers, and whether or not a character is OP or not doesn't concern me in the slightest. I'm just here to have fun and that's it. Okay, I understand some people have issues with the site here and there, but to put it simply: your problems are not my problems. If something is stressing me out, or I'm frustrated I just take a break and chill out. I'm not like everyone, I am an individual, as everyone. Some people think strongly, some don't. I am one of the people who do not think strongly. Whatever happens happens. In life shit just happens, whether you like it or not. I'm fine with whatever happens, I won't be bashing people about OP characters, shops, etc. I'll just be me, a person who's just calmly enjoying their stay here on this site.


    I am not here to argue with anyone, everyone has their own opnion. I just go with the flow and adapt to the changes.

    welp as this thread has been going on for 9 pages and its been mostly arguing (but let me tell you it was polite! welp most of it) imma just leave this thread here. If any of you guys have any questions what so ever please my inbox is always open for comments, concerns, or flat out questions!     The reasons for the removal of the shop have been stated many, many times. Staff will not force people to earn the right to create a better story.
