Tessa cried and stayed in the corner for a few hours. She was at Child Services, seeing she had no family in the area. Her parents had just been in a terrifyingly harsh car accident which, as you can guess, killed them. "Tessa," one of the social workers called. Tessa stood up and wiped the tears from her face and approached the worker. "Yes, Mam," she answered. "Unfortunately, none of your faraway family that we no of are willing to adopt you," the worker told her. "What does that mean?" Tessa asked, even though deep inside her, Tessa already knew. Still, she had to ask...you know....just to be sure. "I'm afraid it means you'll be going to an orphanage, dear," the worker told her. She had feared as much. "Listen, why don't you eat something. You look pale," the worker told her. "I'm not hungry," was the response.
