  • Enna blinked Out of her daze "u-uh yes. But I believe she is on night shift, his mother carmen" the girl explained softly, bitting down lightly on her bottom lip "is he going to be ok?"

  • "He will be. It's just...he's really going to need that surgery otherwise there's no way of saving him. Can you call her so she can come her and sign over that we can perform the surgery?" the nurse asked

  • Enna nodded "of course" stepping away to ring his mother, figuring at this hour she was likely just finishing her shift anyways. As she explained the situation to Carmen, trying to stay calm.

  • Carmen listened to the situation trying to hold back some tears. She hurried as quickly as she could to get to the hospital. She arrived about ten minutes later and looked over the documents before signing. The two were told to wait there while they performed the surgery on Gus. Carmen looked at Enna and hugged her. "I'm so sorry" she cried

  • Enna hugged the woman back in surprise "what on earth for?" As she led the woman to a seat "no one has done anything wrong" admittedly Enna wanted to cry too. But she couldn't. At least Gus was getting the surgery he needed now.

  • "Because you have to deal with all of this. I know you didn't sign up for something like this when you chose to be with my son. I'm glad you've been able to stay with him though" she said as a few tears fell down her face. A doctor soon came out to see them.

"Alright, so good news. The surgery went well, but Gus needs a few days to recover. He wants to see you. He's practically back to normal, but he's going to need a oxygen tank from now on"

  • Enna listened to her words the innocent girl had never thought of it like that. She truly wasn't shallow "what's the point of being with someone if you can't stick at it through the good and the bad?" She smiled gently. Though it fell as she heard foot steps approaching.

He would need an oxygen tank forever? No more motor bike, skinny dipping, he would be breathless after most activities. Her heart went out to him. But she tried to think of the positives. "Lets go see him. Then I need to get my paper work from school"

  • The doctor nodded and led them back into the hospital room. Gus looked back at the doorway smiling when he saw Enna and his mother. He had tubes connected to a small tank next to him and up to his nose. "Enny, they say I'm going to be okay" he cheered

  • She gently settled alongside him on his bed, still trying to focus on the positives, he was alive and that really was all that mattered to Enna. She would take him any way she could. "How are you feeling?" She cooed gently as she ran her fingers through his hair. He would need her now more than ever she imagined.

  • Gus took her in his arms and pulled her onto the bed wanting her to be close to him right now. "Eh, kind of crappy I just got out of surgery. However right now, I'm feeling better with you with me" he said

  • She smiled softly, gently messing with his hair that was already starting to thin. "See? You're so tough" she whispered "I never lost faith in you" both of them looked worse for ware, it would be some time until the man was discharged. The first few days would still be dangerous due to complications and infections that could happen especially with his already weakened immune system. And then of course making sure all his stitches didn't tear and his wounds healed neatly. As well as likely continued chemo once he was strong enough to ensure the cancer stayed in remission. Yes. Gus had a long road ahead. She stayed with the young man for a few hours. Rubbing her eyes, gaze world weary. But she couldn't complain. Sleepless nights was child's play compared to what cards Gus had been dealt. "My sweet, I'm sorry. But I need to get over to school and pick up some home work" she whispered softly "besides you probably should get lots more sleep. I'll be back soon" she promised.

  • Gus frowned, but kissed her before she had to go. "Well come back soon, I'm going to miss my baby girl" he said waving goodbye to her as she left the room. He sighed laying back down on the bed as the doctors came back in to give him some more of his chemo treatment to make sure that he was going to go through remission.

Ooc: can we timeskip a bit?

  • ooc of course we can! I was thinking possibly Enna could be jumped by an enemy gang not long before Gus can be released. Because word gets out that he has been sick and so they take that as a weakness.

    Ic

The world had been tough without Gus. Neina took her chances and moments when Enna was not protected by Gus' friends. Such as the girl's bathroom. Already she had been pushed to the floor by Neina. And of course, no one could protect Enna from the online assaults. Rumours and nasty insults to name a few. Every day she went to Gus. Every night she barely slept, worrying about him. Her grades were slipping. But she told Gus none of this. She didn't tell him about the harassment from neina, her group of cheer leaders ganging up on her, pushing her to the floor and threatening her well-being online. She also never told Gus that she had punched neina and another guy for saying ill words about her boyfriend. He would never know that her A grades were slipping to B grades. Anyone could see she was exhausted. Eyes sleep deprived. She had fallen asleep in class, more than once. Still she smiled and laughed and chatted away to the sick man, using all her energy to keep Gus' spirits high and positive. By now Enna was walking back from the hospital. Rubbing her eyes with a yawn.

  • Gus had been going through a lot himself. Repeated sessions of chemo and now physical thereapy to help him get back on his feet. His only bright moments were when Enna came to visit as well as his mother. He had noticed through Enna seeming a bit off. She didn't seem like herself. Like she was putting up a front. He said nothing about it to her face and instead enjoyed that she was there with him

On her way back from the hospital, Dallas, a rival gang leader, spotted her. He was aware of her being Gus's girlfriend and if Gus in the hospital he knew that she was an easy target. He snuck up behind her and grabbed onto her. "Aren't you a pretty one?"

  • Enna was riffling through her bag at the time, unaware in the dimly lit street. No one was around. Realising she must have forgotten one of her textbooks at the hospital. About to grumble at her breath, but instead yelped as her arm was grabbed. Spinning around as she tried to pull her arm free. She had no idea who this larger male was. "L-let me go!" Gazing up at the man. Feeling her body begin to tremble. Trying to pull away again, though she knew she was no match. "Who are you?" It hadn't even occurred to her that this could be another gang that Gus had mentioned and how she could be caught in a turf dispute or as a form of leverage or blackmail against his gang. Looking around her, not one soul stirred in the night. No cars, no people. She knew she shouldn't have cut through this alley. But it shorted her daily walk to the hospital and so she had started to use the short cut.

  • Dallas smirked and pulled her closer to him. "Oh baby doll, you'll find out who I am. I'm surprised your boyfriend hasn't mentioned me yet. We used to be very close...now you going to keep fighting me or are you coming willingly with me? No one's coming to your rescue tonight" he purred in her ear putting a gag on her

  • Enna struggled, trying to shout protests. Terror in her eyes as she tried to push him away but it was no use in the slightest. Sniffling softly as she looked like she was about to cry. Cowering from the male who held her close. Trying to still put up a fight. She was starting to work out what was happening. And despite the danger she was in, her thoughts were on not being used as a weapon against Gus. Still trying to struggle though she could barely move. Shuddering at his breath against her ear.

  • Dallas rolled his eyes and dragged her off to his car knocking her out before they headed off to his hideout. By the time, she would awake, she would be tied to a bed with Dallas fixing up a camera to face her. "You know you're going to be the perfect bait for your boyfriend"

  • it had been over 16 hours since Enna had vanished into the night. Her home untouched. Her first day of school unattended. And it would be her first night she would never visit Gus. Her frog stuck to the glass in protest of not being fed. The girl stirred with a whimper. Wincing as she realised her hands were bound and panicked. Struggling as she looked around wildly. Yelping as she met eyes with her captor. "W-where am I??" Her head aches from being knocked out as tears welled up in her eyes.
