  • "I'll make sure I can still go skinny dipping with you. That's our special thing" he smiled peppering her with kisses. He held onto her and pressed their foreheads together. "I think that sounds nice. I promise I'll wear it everyday" he said kissing her on the lips for a moment. "I can't lose you either" he whispered as a doctor came in and coughing to alert them of his presence

  • Enna smiled "you gotta get better soon. I'm done waiting" she teased him gently "it only had to have a near death sentence first" she smirked sadly, tears welling up slightly. "I'm so sorry Gus" feeling so guilty. Kissing him gently until the doctor interrupted them, making Enna blush. Gazing at the new comer, fearing he would be the bearer of bad news.

  • "I promise I'll get better baby. And you'll be there every step of the way" he said still kissing her. He then turned to see the doctor a bit nervous about what he would say.

"Um sorry to break this up, but we need to start Gus on his chemo now. We can't wait any longer. You can sit out in the waiting room if you want. Though it's going to take most of the morning"

  • "May I wait with him? I know he'll likely be sick and I also know it takes a good few hours. I'd love to keep him company if he would like" Enna smiled gently as she looked back at the man. He was so brave, Enna knew she could never be so strong.

  • "You can be in the room if you'd like, buy you can't be all over each other like you are right now" he informed.

Gus looked at her and then down st the bag. "How about you take one of the books you put in my bag? I think you probably got Catcher in the Rye, right? That one's my favorite. You should read that while I'm dealing with my therapy"

  • Enna blushed brightly at the doctor's comment, laughing awkwardly as she gave an apologetic look. Carefully she cli,bed off of Gus, nodding as he spoke and looking for the book he mentioned "ah. There it is. Perhaps I could read it to you?" She smiled, understanding if he didn't want that.

  • "I'd like that actually. It would combine to great things. My favorite girl and my favorite girl. So go ahead" he said as a few nurses came in to roll his bed to the chemo room and the doctor motioned for Enna to follow

  • Naturally Enna was anxious but she had come with a fresh packet of chewing gum just in case for Gus. Staying out of the way as they hooked him up and then stepping closer, the sight broke her heart but she stayed strong. Kissing his forehead as she pulled a chair up close to him. Slipping a small and delicate hand into his own. Opening the book and starting to read softly.

  • Gus held onto her hand as they started his treatment. He tried not to focus on it and instead focused on Enna's soft voice as she read his favorite story. He smiled and squeezed her hand. They worked on him almost until one pm when they finished for the day and rolled him back to his room. "We'll do this more tomorrow, your body's going to get used to it after a while" the doctor explained

  • Enna peered up at Gus with each page turn, relieved they could run away into the pages of the book. Smiling softly as she read the book quietly, enjoying it. She was a fair way through the book as they were soon lead back to his room. Enna followed, gently nudging a bucket within reach for him "just in case" she cooed softly. "Maybe they can schedule your chemo for when I can keep you company and read to you.. though I doubt it. School is tomorrow" Enna realised softly.

  • "Well they could try to do it after school hours, but I don't think they will. I promise I'll think of you when they do. I liked your voice reading my favorite book" Gus complimented. He took the bucket when he started to feel nauseous. He barged into the into the bin and put it aside. "Good thing you put it there"

  • Enna leaned closer, gently rubbing his back as the man began to be sick. Once he was done she took the bucket "ill get rid of this" she assured him, handing him the packet of gun she had brought as she kissed his temple affectionately. "I'll be right back" she promised.

  • Gus took the pack of him from her and then began chewing on a piece. He held onto the pack while he waited for Enna's return. A nurse spotted Enna carrying the bin and took it from her hands and motioned for her to go back. He smiled seeing Enna coming back. "You have good flavor of gum. It's strawberry, my favorite. How did you know?" he asked

  • "You seemed like a strawberry fan" she smiled as she placed a fresh bucket next to him. Looking at the time it was already 2 in the afternoon and she had yet to have lunch. But so had Gus. Hugging him gently for a few long moments "you're taking everything like a champ"

  • "Well I'm happy you figure that out" he smiled hugging her back. He knew it was after lunch, but he wasn't hungry. Side affect of the chemo, Gus guessed. "You really think so baby?" he asked

  • "How have t you taken it like a champ? You haven't complained, cried, backed out. You've just taken it. All of it Gus" Enna smiled warmly.

  • "Well I figured what was the point if I did any of that. It wasn't going to help me get better and right now that's my goal. Once I get better then I can leave here and we can do some more fun stuff"

  • "I hope I'm included in all these fun stuff plans" Enna teased with a giggle. Only to blink as she sensed someone approach "Gusy. You shouldn't talk like that. It's not very bad boy like" Enna narrowed her eyes at the words. Seeing Neina standing in the door way. Obviously word had traveled. "That wasn't very nice of you to just hang up on us last night, Enna" she huffed, hands on her hips as she strutted over with a smirk. Going in for a hug to Gus.

  • Gus glared at Neina as she stood in the doorway. "I've moved pass that Neina. In case you didn't know I have lung cancer and you're the one that caused it with your constant encouragement of me smoking. I'm not going to do that again, got it?" he asked

  • Enna blinked, she pulled Gus closer protectively "I don't think you're welcome here or have any business here. Especially if you just want to be a detriment to Gus' health" the girl murmured carefully. Glaring as the girl glared at her, it seemed neina had nothing to say. Or couldn't come up with any response. Strutting out again in disgust.
