    Tye shook his head, laughing. "You're a natural." His tail was wagging happily and he looked back up at his owner. "Now take it back, see if you can catch it from way up there." Tye knew she was uneasy about the humans, but he was hoping she'd warm up to them.

    Amber gave him a nervous nod and slowly made her way over to Tye's owners. Setting the frisbee in his lap, she looked up at him and took a step back. Tilting her head head she waited for him to throw it again so she could do as Tye said and try to catch it while it was higher in the air.

    The man threw the Frisbee hard, sending it flying deep into the park. Tye took off after it, sprinting, jumping up but missing it by a few inches, leaving the Frisbee to still fly. Tye watched the retriever do what her breed was made to do, retrieve. The man was in love with the retriever, and so was the girl he was talking to. Tye's owner looked around, and no one else was watching, so he pulled Tye's leash from his pocket and smiled at the girl. Tye was watching Amber chase the Frisbee.

    Amber watched the frisbee fly happily. Chasing after it, she watched as Tye failed to catch it himself and ran past him to retrieve it herself. Jumping up into the air, she snapped her mouth shut around the disk before landing back on the ground. "This is fun!" She laughed, wagging her tail excitedly.

    Tye laughed more and his tail beat the air happily. "You're really good at this!" He was having a blast failing at life all because his new friend was enjoying herself. The man called to Amber, "Come here girl, bring it back!" Tye started walking over to his owner, Amber behind him.

    Amber carried the disk happily in her mouth. Following after Tye, she went to the man to give the frisbee back. By now she was to lost in the fun to really be on guard near the humans. She just wanted him to throw the frisbee some more.

    The man clipped the collar and leash around Amber, patting her head, holding the Frisbee in his free hand. Tye growled, knowing Amber didn't want this at all. He barked, and his owner gave him a mean look, and then the girl came up behind Tye, putting him on a leash. He snarled and snapped at the girl, who hit him with the other end of the leash. Tye yelped and laid down, scared. His master was never like this. The man stood, waving for the girl to follow.

    Amber froze when she suddenly felt a collar being clipped onto her. No, no, no. She didn't want this! She knew she shouldn't have gotten near the humans, it was that stupid game! Pulling against the lease, she let out a whimper. "Tye! I don't want this!" She said being forced to follow after the man. She shouldn't have came to this park. It had been a huge risk and now she was paying the price.

    Tye lunged at his master, the leash slipping out of the girls hand. His jaws wrapped around his masters arm and he let out a shrill, letting go of Amber's leash. "Go Amber!" He barked right before he got kicked in the side by the girl. He yelped and let go, blood oozing out of the man's arm. Tye laid on his side in the grass, no other humans there to witness the event. They were alone. Tye whined softly as his human stumbled back, tying his shirt around his arm, calling 911. "Run... Amber.. Before they notice..." Tye knew he had a broken rib, or maybe more than just one. His entire left side was burning.

    Everything happened so fast. One minute she was being dragged along and the next she was free. But poor Tye was hurt. Leaning down she licked his face. "Thank you." She whispered before taking off across the park towards her little secret entrance.

    Tye laid there, whining in pain as the girl and his owner tried to stop the bleeding as paramedics and the police arrived. Tye started crawling away without anyone noticing and laid under a bush, his side hurting even more now. The cops called out for Tye, but he didn't move or make a sound. K-9s were sent out and one stumbled across Tye, but once he got the story, he told him to lie still and no one will know he's there. Tye had been let free. He'd never go back to his master now. After a few hours, everyone had left, the sun had set, and Shaman found his way over to Tye, laughing. "Poor pup. Hurt, stranded, all over a female that belongs with me. Good luck being taken care of. The streets are rough on house mutts." Shaman ran off, leaving Tye under the bushes.

    Amber had stayed close to the park. Of course she had stayed hidden to make sure Tye's owner didn't see her. Watching the entrance, she looked on in confusion when Tye's master came out, but he was no where to be seen. Where is he? She thought worriedly. Once the humans left she ran back off into the park. "Tye? Are you still here?" She called out, sniffing the air around her to see if she could hopefully locate him.

    The collie opened his eyes and gave a low "woof". The sound of Amber's voice gave him enough strength to crawl out from under the bushes and sit up through the pain. "Hey Amber..." He mumbled, trying to ignore the pain in his side.

  • Amber||3||Female||Stray

    Amber followed the sound and watched Tye crawl out from a bush. Rushing over, she licked his face. "What happened? Why didn't you go with your human?" Amber wasn't a house pet but Tye was. He never lived on the streets like she did. "You could've gotten help for your wound." She scolded, moving over to his side. Inspecting it she told her head. "Well, it doesn't look to bad. You just need it clean."

    Tye shrugged and shook his head. "They kill dogs who bite humans because it's always the dog's fault." He looked at the gate and sighed, "if my master wanted me, he would've came back by now... Stupid humans..." He looked at Amber and offered a smile. He wasn't sure what to do without his human by his side. He's been with him since he could remember...

  • Amber||3||Female||Stray

    Amber nodded with a sad look. "I'm sorry. This is my fault. If I would've just stayed away from them in the first place none of this would have happened." Leaning down she gently started to lick the wound clean. She couldn't do anything about any internal wounds. Those would just have to heal. "You can stay with me. I don't want you out here all alone." She stated, helping him to his feet.

    Tye offered another smile, wincing as he stood. "Thanks Amber, and don't blame this on yourself, my human was a bad man... Even if he's always been beside me..." Tye got lost in thought, remembering the frigid nights in a box, alone, after all his siblings were taken. Days went by and Tye wasn't big enough to climb out of the box. Eventually, a pair of strong hands lifted puppy Tye up, craddlng the shivering pup.

    Amber nodded and licked his cheek in a comforting way. "Just lean against me okay?" She asked, and once she got the nod she led the border collie towards the entrance. "I think you'll like my place. It's a nice warm tents and I have a few dog beds and pillows in it. Plus it keeps out the rain and has this metal thing that closes it." She said with a smile, leading the hurt dog down the street.

    Tye leaned against his friend and they walked together. "You know, isn't the male supposed to be helping the female?" he may be injured, but he could at least still make a few jokes. The collie sighed and winced as they walked, every now and then looking over his shoulder.

  • Amber||3||Female||Stray

    Amber let out a loose chuckle at the joke and shook her head. "They should be able to help each other." She stated, leaning the male down a alleyway. Since it was getting dark out it looked a bit creepy, but in reality it was an actual nice place. Just the dark playing tricks. Turning a corner she walked him towards a cozy looking tent. Grabbing the small zipper she pulled the opening down. "Home, sweet, home."
