  • life's a dance you learn as you go

She was making this go too fast. Maybe it was the fact the pain from Frightfur's death still hung over her like a rock waiting to fall. Perhaps it already had, just thinking about the serval hurt as much. But, she wanted the pain to be over. The femme wanted to start fresh. She didn't want to forget, never. At the very least she wanted some good memories to remember along with the ones she had with Fright. And, she liked Scout well enough.

The prom had ended abruptly with the fight between Jersey and Rid. That was none of her business, but she had wanted to spend more time with her date she knew almost nothing about. The day after, she'd been so bothered by this fact that she'd quizzed herself. What did she really know about Scout? He seemed to like glasses. Although, did that count for anything? The main reason he wore them was because his eyesight wasn't perfect. The husky was also sweet and funny. Çelina enjoyed his jokes. But, that was the extent of her knowledge. She wanted to fix that.

The arctic wolf found herself in a similar situation as when she had asked the male to be her 'date'. Again, she wasn't aware of his home, so she wandered in circles around camp, figuring he'd have to run into her sometime. If she did, she wanted to ask him on a walk. Storm and her had taken a walk once or twice just to talk and that was what she planned to do with Scout. Then, they would both be able to chat about what they might've at the prom and hadn't had the chance to.

TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — scout spotted çelina walking around the camp, and he jogged up to her. grinning, he was wearing his eyeglasses instead of his sunglasses. maybe because of the compliment that çelina said about his eyes. "hey çelina, what's up?" he asked, his tail twitching slightly.

after the fight at the prom, he unfortunately didn't get enough time to talk with çelina. he really wanted to, and to get to know her better, but that ended it. he was hoping that now they could get to know each other better, and that would be great.

  • life's a dance you learn as you go

Çelina turned as she heard her name in the voice of none other than the one she had been seeking. She smiled, noticing that he was wearing his prescription glasses, rather than his others. The canine occasionally wore the ones he had gifted her, but they were something she needed to get used to. They were great for when she sat and watched over the lake, though. "I was just looking for you. Are you busy?" It didn't appear as if the husky was doing anything, but it was always good to ask. "If you aren't, would you mind spending some time with me?" The femme did her best to appear calm on the outside even though she was extremely nervous on the inside.

scout was surprised. she was asking him to hang out with her? oh, but how could he refuse! "of course I'll hang out with you, çelina!" he grinned, walking up now closer to her. seating himself down, he looked at the ground. "what do you want to do?" he asked, tilting his head.

  • life's a dance you learn as you go

Çelina's smile grew as he accepted her offer. Why wouldn't he have? The femme needed to stop doubting everyone, especially Scout. "How about a walk? We can just talk and get to know each other." That sounded fun to her, but would he enjoy it? Once again, she found herself quickly questioning the husky. Why did it feel like she did this with him and no one else? Instead of contemplating that any further, she decided to focus her full attention on Scout, rising to her paws in preparation for their outing.

//it's okay! I know you've said you've been busy lately, so take your time!

Also, I've had three slightly different fancyposts in one thread! Probably not a record, but it seems weird to me...

scout grinned, adjusting his glasses quickly. "sounds fantastic! I love to walk, gives the mind time to think." he smiled, getting up himself. he accidentally brushed his belt against hers, and moved away too quickly. wincing, he hoped it hadn't seemed like he was disgusted to touch her or something. it was the fact that now he felt like his pelt was burning, and that his face was beet-red.

  • Çelina believed the other canine to be correct when he said walking was a great way to process one's thoughts. That very thing had worked for her before in her own life. Taking time to think things over while also getting moving had often helped her through some of her toughest times. "I may need to take a break every now and then," she said with a small laugh. It was true she could probably more active, but now wasn't the time to be thinking about that.

As he bumped into her, she took a step back as well. Çelina didn't get the impression that the husky didn't want to come into contact with her and that wasn't the case for her, either. She was just surprised by the sudden touch. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said quickly before picking a direction and heading out. After a moment, she looked back to make sure Scout was following.

scout blushed. "oh, don't worry! it was my fault." he followed after çelina, his tail swaying. "so... beautiful weather out, isn't it?" he said awkwardly, looking up at the sky. it wasn't too bad, but he wouldn't really say "beautiful." ah, oh well.

    1. life's a dance you learn as you go
      //it's aight

"It's a little too hot for my tastes," Çelina admitted with a sideways glance at the husky before slowing her pace to match his. After a moment of silence, she continued. "This might seem random, but do you know anyone who can shapeshift? I know I can, but I just don't know how exactly." Embarrassing, wasn't it? Hopefully, he wouldn't make fun of her too much for it. "I did it once before, by accident, and that body was much more suited for the summer heat we get around here in certain areas." She could ask her brother, but she hadn't seen him in awhile. And, the canine couldn't help but start imagining the worst when it came to what could have happened to her sibling. Well, if Scout didn't know, she supposed there had to be someone out there who did. Probably even in BlizzardClan.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — scout looked up, surprised. "I believe foxtrot has the ability to shapeshift, though he hasn't mastered it yet. maybe you two could practice." he commented, shrugging. he didn't know the german shepherd much, but he heard that he had been attacked.

    "
I think it'd be cool to shapeshift. I bet your other body is just as beautiful." realizing what he said, he stopped, starting to stutter. "oh, uh, I-" sighing, he thought that maybe he should just tell her that he likes her. or he could keep quiet. no, he wasn't going to do that.

    "
çelina, I- I really like you. you're so beautiful, kind, and sweet." he couldn't believe it. he had finally told her. (dang, scout has more nerve than I do to tell his crush that he likes her. and he's more awkward than ME xD.)

    1. life's a dance you learn as you go
"I might talk to him, then," she replied with a nod. She knew Foxtrot as a friend of Gingerbread's so perhaps he could offer some pointers, and they could learn together. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be as fun as hanging out with Scout, but maybe that would make the summer more bearable. And, when the cold winter rolled around again, she'd be able to return to the body she'd been born into, the one that was far more comfortable. "Thank you."

At his first remark, she shook her head, but her smile remained. "It's a lot to get used to. I've only done it once -during my sleep, mind you - but I'm willing to try again if only I don't have to spend the summer below the islands just to keep cool." She was so relaxed it took her moment to notice he'd complimented her. But, after she had, her gray eyes widened in surprise. "Uh, thank you. That means a lot." Really, it did. Oftentimes, she'd find herself looking at the beautiful pelts of those like Scout and feel... plain. There was nothing special about her fur. Her wild dog body was much better looking in her opinion.

Even though she appreciated his words, she could never have predicted what he said next. It was a surprise, but she could tell he meant all of it. By this time, the canine had stopped in her tracks, the smile on her face replaced by a more serious expression. She let the silence remain for a few long minutes, thinking. He liked her. Did she like him? Çelina didn't want to embarrass or disappoint him, but at the same time, didn't want to lie. As her thoughts raced, she also found that Frightfur was on her mind. Although, wasn't he always? The femme would never let herself forget about him. But, that didn't mean putting her own life on hold. He was gone. And, more than likely... no. He wasn't coming back. No more of these ifs or whens or maybes. She was sure that she felt about Scout something she hadalso felt about Fright. She just hadn't been able to tell the mechanical serval. Well, she had an opportunity, right now, to say something to Scout. "Oh, Scout. I-I think I like you, too. You're funny and have the best fashion sense in the Clan." She stopped herself from saying he was pretty adorable himself, especially in his prescription glasses, but she didn't know if he'd feel awkward by it. "And, I-I also think I'd be willing to give..." she paused, briefly at a loss for words. "Give this a try, if that's what you want. Just take it slow, at first, alright? I mean, I don't even know about your life before BlizzardClan!" As the arctic wolf continued to speak, she grew more confident, until, during her last sentence, the smile returned to her maw and she laughed softly.

//I don't think I'd ever be able to, either. The takes some real courage... BUT the other day, someone I like asked me for my number and I had to tell him I don't have a cell phone.

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — relieved with her first sentence, he laughed softly. looking up at her when she said she'd "give us a try," he grinned. "slow is how I roll. and my life isn't interesting in any way before this place. I was basically an abandoned pup with no one to love." he thought about how he mostly starved every night before he went to bed, not knowing how to hunt or anything. but, he soon found his best friend, his name was optic, and he taught scout everything he knows now. but, due to a tragic incident, the great dane had died from a terrible illness.

    1. life's a dance you learn as you go
"Is that so?" she said, raising a nonexistent eyebrow. "Well, thank you. I've never done anything like this before." After listening to the short story of his past, Çelina smiled softly, despite how sad it sounded. "Oh, you poor thing," she said, and it sounded as if she really meant it. "I suppose that's one thing we have in common." She'd found family in her adoptive mother, Moongleam, who had brought her and her sibling into the Clan after discovering them abandoned on BlizzardClan territory. She, too, had died, when Çelina and Storm were young. The canine had to learn early on that life was short and that you should show those you loved that you cared while you still could. "Lucky you found BlizzardClan. Now, you have clanmates to love." Including me, she almost added, but once again held back.

//Sorry I won't be able to post on Vivi's joining thread until later... I've got to get to studying.

scout nodded. he was lucky to have found blizzardclan. boy, he'd hate to still be alone. even though he was taught to hunt, optic never really taught scout how to fight. maybe he could take some lessons later, to become better. that was his life goal. to become better at everything.

"yeah, I do have clanmembers to love. especially you." wow, he was on a roll today. maybe he was just himself around çelina, not the awkward doofus like he usually was. he was an open book.

shaking his head, he looked at çelina. "enough about me- what about you? are you excited about your new medic role?" he asked. it must be exciting to have a higher rank in the clan.

    1. life's a dance you learn as you go
Was he trying for some kind of compliment streak? Whatever it was, she liked it, however it would take some getting used to. Again, she'd never done this before and hadn't even been very open around Fright. She would adjust, though. As he changed the subject to her new promotion, Çelina shrugged. What was there to say? Well, she supposed there was something she wanted to get off her chest. Who else would be better to listen to her than Scout? The femme could think of no one. "Uh, its great and all. I mean, I really enjoy learning and herbs. And, this finally gives me the chance to finally help out in a way I might actually be useful. But, that's also part of the problem, I think. What if I can't help someone? What if I forget or-" she cut herself off, realizing she'd been rambling. He'd probably just expected her to say it sounded like a fun adventure to embark on this path, but instead, she'd given him some worried lecture about fears she wouldn't be surprised if all medics shared.

//i finally got to changing her tags v ;*)

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — ooc > I gotta fix scout's tags... they got all messed up in the transfer (which I'm fine with because now they can be new hehe)

scout listened quietly, his eyes searching hers. "hey- it's alright. it happens to everyone, what you're thinking. you'll forget every now and then. you'll mess up, and you won't be able to help someone. everything in life isn't always in your control. if it was, everything would be so much easier and boring." he'd have his mother and optic back, for one thing. he'd probably know his father. sighing, he hesitated before nuzzling her cheek softly. "but I bet you'll do a wonderful job. lottie wouldn't have chosen you to be on her team if you hadn't proved yourself a great trainee."

    1. life's a dance you learn as you go
To her surprise, everything Scout said was true. It wasn't that something that made sense wasn't expected from the husky, but that it had completely slipped her own mind. Of course there were those she couldn't completely heal, like Harrison, whose cancer was slowly consuming his lungs. If she could make everyone better, what was the point of learning? If no one got sick, there wasn't even a purpose for the medic branch of the Clan. If everyone got what they wanted, it would be pretty borning. All anyone could ever do was try their best. And, Lottie would teach her well, she knew this. "Thank you. I really needed that," she said, her smile returning. "And I'm glad to have your support." Then, she nudged him playfully. "Enough with all this serious business. We should do something fun!" Whoever thought they should go on a walk, anyway? Well, she had, but now she was much more comfortable. "What do you think?"

  • TAGS ✦ ✧ ✦ — scout grinned, bounding slightly away from çelina. getting into a playful position, with his rump up in the air and his front paw splayed out in front of him, he barked. "well- I say we wrestle!" leaping at her, he gently tackled her to the ground, cuffing his paws around her ears as he pinned her to the ground.

    1. life's a dance you learn as you go
Needless to say, Çelina wasn't expecting him to tackle her. Even after he announced that's what they were doing, it hadn't completely registered and caught her by surprise. But, now her back was pressed against the cool grass as he gently pinned her. It took her a moment before she managed to stop laughing and speak. "Hey, you know that's cheating, right? You've got to give someone a minute to get ready!" Of course she was joking. Even if he had given her a countdown, the same thing would have happened. Although they both had no fighting skill, he was a bit larger than her. And, she would have been afraid to make a move in fear of accidentally hurting him. But, she couldn't help but be reminded of her pup days and wresting with Storm. Back then, she'd been much more feisty and her brother had always let her win. "Well, I guess you won, you big brute!" she said, pushing gently at his chest with a paw. Then she added, with a teasing tone, "But, I'd like to see you beat me in a swimming contest."
