  • WELL, I KNOW YOU LAY IN BED, CONTEMPLATING YOUR OWN DEATH
Well, just look at what you've done. Don't you dare forget the sun love.—

The meeting had woken him up earlier than expected and he was nursing his third coffee in the kitchen. Might as well do something while he was up. Setting down his overly sweet drink he pulled out various ingredients for a hearty lunch meal, it was around that time and people would be getting back from morning patrols and early garden working. They needed some good food so they could keep that energy going in the afternoon. The apprentice had harvested various herbs of varying flavors as well as thawed out a 'few' chicken breasts. There was no clue as to what the end result would be.

Padding to the doorway underneath the grand staircase the male gave a holler loud enough to be heard from the gardens. "Anyone who's not on duty at this moment come help me out in the kitchen! We're gonna need a nice meal if we want to keep our strength up!"

  • ICENINE !

Icenine came bounding in, ready to do whatever this cat told her to. "Hi, I'm Icenine. What do you need help with?" she questioned, turning her bright blue eyes to rest on him. Cooking sounded nice, and well, everything soudned nice to her. She was up for anything.

Whatcha doing, Nicky? Bethany chirped as she skipped up to the male. The girl tilted her head with a bright smile. Cooking? She did know that Nicolas liked to cook. He did offer her a pie earlier. She giggled and clapped her paws together. Maura and I can taste test things!

The doberman was far from knowledgeable on anything kitchen based so perhaps she'd like to learn something... you know, for like, survival purposes. She clearly wasn't the type to enjoy cooking. Ahem, anyways, Duchess approached the scene with baited interest, her mauve eyes even as a slight smile tugged at her maw and she dipped her head. "I'll watch for now." Yeah, watch, that was subtle enough right?

Nicholas chuckled at the girls' enthusiasm handing Icenine a knife and Betty a spoon. "Ice if you'll mince the herbs I've laid out on the chopping board over there that would be wonderful. Betty if you'll begin mixing the dressing thats over on that counter that would be great, you can taste test one all ingredients have been combined." He explained, grabbing the chicken and a knife of his own before nodding to Duchess and going to dress said breasts.

Knives, food, cooking. You could call him conservative but he'd stick with regular old hunting and eating it warm and raw. But his stomach was growling, and if he were to make any sort of face for himself, he might as well try to pick up anything resembling a skill.
"I'll help with.. Something." Raphael was educated, but this was not his forte. The male wouldn't even bother to bullshit this, he knew nothing. "I could catch the meat!" Gods, please don't shoot down this idea. It was all he could pray for.

    OOC:
IC: He mentally face-pawed himself. He hunted that giant overgrown stag basically for nothing? They had a room to cook? Where was the joy in that? What happened to just straight up eating it as Herthe provided it?

He'd left it outside too, so he wouldn't offend them, his stomach growling in protest. That hunt had taken most of his energy and he just wanted to dig his fangs in and devour as much as he could, but he had politely (and rather forcefully) pushed himself to not eat it, just so he wouldn't make himself look like a selfish jerk before older members or kits could eat.

He sat down with a thump on the hard linoleum, claws digging into the cracked and dried floor. This had better be worth it. He thought, staring at the ground.

If they were cooking their food, then he had been eating wrong this entire time. Now he felt like an idiot.

"Oh, I hope I'm not too late!" Amaya chirped as she skidded into the kitchen, eyes wide as her grin. "I'd love to help!"

Hearing both Raphael and Silent come up he knew of the perfect job for the both of them. "Silent, Raph would you two mind carving up that elk and grabbing a few rabbits for dinner? A roast sounds wonderful but they take hours to cook and if we start now it will be just in time." He asked, smiling at Amaya he then motioned for her to come help him dress the chickens.

    OOC:
IC: Carve it? Well it was certainly better then doing nothing. Catch rabbits? Those things were so dang fast, and it was pointless to just sit and wait for them, cause they'd catch your scent and bolt the other way. Plus he really wasn't that fast of a runner.

He walked outside, grabbing his catch and began dragging his claws through it to begin the process, severely hoping he was doing this right.

Stacking the meat into neat piles, his stomach in protest as it was tricked into thinking he was going to eat. The antlers torn from the skull and set aside, he'd carve them later.

He grabbed the first pile in his jaws, carrying it inside.

  • ICENINE !

Icenine nodded, happy to help out. She set about mincing the herbs as small as she could, taking care not to chop any body parts by accident. Community cooking was the best, she decided. All her friends were here!

TAGS — While Marzipan did appreciate extravagant meals and good food, she was not a cook. Not because she couldn't do it, but because she just.. thought it a waste of time while other people did it. That might have been slightly selfish thinking, but she had better things to do. She had to keep the Sanctum and it's acolytes in Herthe's good favor, she had to go around to allies and keep up relations, that kind of stuff. So the hybridized canine would trot over, seating herself nearby with a light, curious tilt of her head. "I shall observe."

His eyes lit up, he wouldn't mind catching rabbits. Raphael was slender, and his body was tall. More designed to run fast than to be particularly strong. walking out to the entrance of the manor, he would gaze around, making sure no one saw him. The male then proceeded to jog outside, keeping his energy but trying to make speed the key.
Sniffing deeply, Raphael swiveled his head, it wasn't rabbit but he was tempted to catch it either way. Another deep breath led him to assume it was some sort of fowl, feathers, he'd pass. Sulking away, he kept his mouth just a crack open, to taste the wind. Behind him a thin tail lashed fervently.
That's when he smelled it, a small animal. Instantly dropping his body close to the ground, he waited a moment not daring to move. The soft claw scratch noise stopped, and a rather tame looking rabbit came around the corner, it too sniffing at the air. Both of the beading black eyes glanced towards him. Shit.
Stretching his legs out before him, he watched the creature scurry away as fast as it could manage. It only took Raphael a few sprinting bounds to be on the tail of the rat-like creature. His breath ragged, the next time his bounded, he held out a clawed arm and watched the creature fall. Raph jumping over it, he swiveled around and darted in for a bite first on it's spine, then on the neck. A sick snapping noise and the sweet taste of blood flooding his mouth. He growled in pride.
Putting the rabbit in a feebly dug hole, he continued his hunt.
